The property is spacious. Our family of 5 was comfortable. It was 102 degrees when we arrived and we were grateful for the excellent air conditioning. The location is perfect. The Seine and Notre Dame visible as soon as you walk out the door. The only negative is itâs windowless. That was odd but ok. You donât come to that location to stay inside.
The apartment was great. Better than expected actually. Very secure and the perfect location. Easy access to the metro a taxi or an Uber. The kitchen was large a well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. Overall perfect for our group of 5.
Ideal location and great common area. Easy access to Metro and RER. Plenty of cafes, patisseries, and boulangeries in the area. Only challenge was communicating with the property manager; took several attempts to get responses (both email and text) to basic questions and requests.
Excellent location and well kept and nice apartment
The social areas of the apartment were very ample and nice. Good taste, and well decorated. AC in each room and in the social areas. Safe and easy to get around. Highly recommended.
This is our second family trip to Paris using this property. First time was 6 years ago with the second time just last week. We remembered where items were from the first time and how well planned the apartment was. It is in an excellent location - walk to major museums, shopping, eating establishments, night time entertainment, etc. Will reserve this property again for our next trip - without hesitation!!!
Lovely spacious apartment in a great location. We celebrated Christmas with our family and it was great. We could walk to most sights. The kitchen and dining area were great for having family celebratory meals together. It was also close to many restaurants and cafes.
Overall the property was great. The location was really nice for all the sites we wanted to see. It was clean and stocked well enough for everything we needed.
Our only complaint was that sometimes the AC units would make it smell like cigarette smoke - possibly it was just pulling in air from outside where someone was smoking.
Perfect, well located, large apartment for the five of us (all adults) staying in 3 bedrooms. Only issue was a neighbour cleaning bins adjacent to the bedroom window at 6am for 30 minutes. Really enjoyed our stay here. Would definitely stay here again. Really happy.
This apartment is in a great spot! Close to the metro and lots of shops and restaurants. It has plenty of space to spread out, and it was very clean. Advertised air conditioning (which it had), just didnât work very well. But, I would definitely stay here again!
Great location, big living room and nice air conditioning. There are two disadvantages, a large one and a small one. There are no windows overlooking a street. The small one is horrible squishy pillows.
Lovley apartment in a great area. Nice and clean. Did smell.as though someone had been smoking prior to our arrival. Plenty of toiletries towels and bedding. We did want to use the sofa bed as we are 5 ladies that do need our personal space. We did use the sofa bed but when asked about the bedding was told there enough beds and we wouldnt need the sofa bed. Easy checking and out. Comfy beds Perfect communication with the owner and they let us leave our luggage in the apartment until 5pm. The only let down was the fridge wasn't clean and had some mouldy fruit in it.
Windowless apartment-misleading photos and inaccurate explanation of property
We have been renting apartments in Paris once or twice a year for 20 years. I study the floor plans especially so that I can figure out bathroom & bedroom placement & space allocation. I was sent a different floor plan for this apartment (bait & switch) probably another apartment this owner has which faces the Seine with big windows. I spent over a month poring over apartments, floor plans & locations & chose The Latin. Upon checking in I was horrified-my friends whom I brought had never been to Paris and were so excited for windows open, viewing Paris sites and sipping champagne. I felt like I had rented my freshman dorm room with a bit more space. It was clean-I will give them that and the Quais des Grands Augustins is a great location. There are 8 âwindowsâ pictured in the VRBO listing and 7 of them may as well have been painted on the walls. They even had ridiculous shades on them, which I assume is to coerce people thinking of renting it that they can throw open these windows to get fresh air. NOT! The one window which actually was a window opened to nothing but a square area where some pipes were. One bedroom had an ensuite bathroom and the other bathroom was all the way across the living room (again, I would never have even considered that location for another couple.) The sad part too is this apartment was actually 1000 euros more than my last apartment on rue de Lille but had half the space and 1 fewer bathrooms. The 2 beds in the bedrooms were nearly on the floor making them difficult to get in & out. The sheets and towels were very low quality as were the furnishings. We tried to get out of it & find another apartment with windows and had no help from VRBO or the owner. I just hope anyone else looking to rent does not fall for this one. I spent 10 nights there and it was my 26th trip to Paris and never could I have a stronger recommendation-you can do so much better in the 6th or 7th arrondissements. Breathe in French air and do NOT rent the Latin.
This is the second time I've booked an apt in Latin Quarter or Saint Germaine des Pres. This place was so much nicer than the last.
(Our family = Married couple, plus 4 teens. Californians who can go high or low -- we love a W hotel or a funky country cabin. Good travel experience. Not the Four Seasons type.)
General: Apt has clean/basic decor, remodeled recently, seems more of a rental than family home. Roomy common areas with big DR table and kitchen, well equipped kitchen with just enough coffee and toilet paper to get you over a few days. A few adapters on table, two sets of keys. washer (combo unit but drying takes a while). Thankfully it has AC - a must in the summer in Paris.
3 bedrooms: one en-suite master, and two additional rooms that each had two twin beds. Not huge but roomy by Paris standards. Plenty of space in armoires and drawers. Comfortable beds.
Bathroom: The other bathroom is split between a shower room (bigger, which my girls loved for doing make up and getting dressed) plus a separate toilet closet with sink across the hall. This makes it easy for a group to rotate into shower, etc. These two rooms are both situated off the DR -- meaning they are for general use and not meant as en-suites. Plenty of hot water and updated fixtures.
Location: Out the front door, you're on the Seine, and you can walk a coupla blocks to several of the romantic bridges. Go right to Notre Dame, left to Louvre, or walk deeper in Latin Q just three blocks to the heart of St GdP. Bldg is on a main street, so it's easy to get car/taxi. Metros within a few blocks any direction.
Secure: bldg with two locking doors prior to reaching the locked apt door. Small functional elevator if your luggage is heavy.
Comms: Great communication with manager/owner -- clear info and friendly remote check in.
Overall: Great!
Not a traditional French film apt with balcony or rooftop. (But FYI -- I had one of those quintessential French apts the last time I booked and the bathroom was the size of an airplane toilet, and I never opened balcony because Paris was 100 degrees and I walked up 3 flights of stairs. Never again.)
Not Versailles either. Typical apts in Paris are not American Penthouses. They are smart, efficient and simple.
Just right: Perfect for our family vacation and I'd book again in a heartbeat.
Until next time, au revoir Paris!
We enjoyed our stay immensely! The apartment is located exactly where we wanted to be, close to the 6eme and easy for uber to find us. Only one flight of stairs to the front door made it easy for papa too! only draw back, even though it's situated right on the Seine, overlooking Pont Neuf - the apartment has no view, in fact, almost no windows at all, save for the internal building operations. Wishing this was a little more clear on the description. But, overall, very satisfied.
Location was great, everything you need was in the apartment. Spacious and as described.
We were 2 families of 4 and had plenty of room. Aircon in the bedrooms was really appreciated on a hot summer night. Aircon in the main room was not good however the fan provided some relief.
We enjoyed our stay and relished the unexpected room to spread out in this lovely Paris apartment.
Dual citizen American/French. I lived in both countries, I now live in the French Alps., I love Paris and my dream has always been to own a property in the absolute best location: Along the River Seine, in St Germain neighborhood. But they are worth several million $! So I found the perfect solution: rent them to fellow american travellers, and enjoy them when they are not rented. A perfect win-win!
