Pour les Papillons de nuit, les plus beaux clubs musicaux de la capitale sont juste en face dans les barges un peu plus loin (Le flow, le Faust, le Rosa)
We had a wonderful stay. The location couldn't be better and the property manager was very responsive and helpful. Remember that it is a boat and not a five-star hotel but it provides you a lot of room and two unique decks to hang out, read a book, and watch the world go by. It was a perfect base to explore Paris. I hope we have a chance to return someday!
You will never beat being on the River with the Alexander III on one end and the Eiffel Tower on the other. Steps from everything in the heart of Paris--what a special adventure. It's a 100 year old boat, and all that entails, meaning ladders + rocking etc--but it was a one of a kind experience & there is nothing like setting on the back of the boat watching the sun set over the Eiffel Tower. Everyone is walking by taking photo shots of "your" place every day. Awesome experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed the unique perspective of seeing and exploring Paris from a Seine- level view. The life on the water, the nightly light show of Paris and the Eiffel Tower were highlights. It was easy to get everywhere we wished to be. The check in and check out process was so simple. The property manager was superb in communications that were clear and thorough.
Romantic definitely, but great for families as well.
Amazing views of the Eiffel Tower on one end of the boat and the Alexander III Bridge on the other end. Located central to all of our chosen attractions and restaurants. Cozy and quiet during the day and enjoyed the many boats passing by at night. Already booked 4 more days to stay again. Unique and enjoyable. Glad we tried an alternative choice for lodging.
If you book this boat, you will not be disappointed. What are you waiting for?
This property symbolizes what we all think Parisian life is about. This is not a five star hotel, but the view, and the central location is worth ten stars. If you need 5000 count Egyptian cotton linens and a marble bathroom the size of a small apartment then this is not the space for you. However, if you want to live like a normal mortal with a god-like view and gain the experience of a lifetime then make your reservation now. The boat is well appointed with functional furniture and outstanding AC units in every bedroom and living area. The shower is standard European style with half enclosure and handheld shower handle and the toilet is a self contained water closet which worked perfect for a family of four allowing plenty of space to get ready each morning. You must be able to climb ship âladdersâ (steep stairs) but otherwise there are few limits to the space. It is a bit damp and maybe a little musty, but what do you expect when living on one of the worldâs greatest waterways? As a father, when I booked, I was worried about security while sleeping, but not once I got to the boat. There is a super security system that allowed me to sleep without fear and was also simple enough for the non-tech savvy to figure out and use. Our host was very punctual with replies and provided clear checkin/checkout instructions as well as offered any support we might need during our stay. Would recommend this property for adventurous souls who want a once in a lifetime experienc.
Staying on this houseboat made our trip to Paris extraordinaryâ we loved it! The views of the bridges and Eiffel Tower from the decks were beautiful, every room charming. We were a close walk to the subway and in a wonderful part of Paris. Quentin, our host, was gracious and helpful. It was lovely to feel and see the river around us. I was there with my adult children, and it was a perfect setting for the family to be together. We will come back again to this sweet little boat if we return to Paris and it is available. Thank you, Quentin, for your advice during our stay.
A unique and wonderful experience. The best location. Not super luxurious, simple, clean and worth the trade off, just need to be open minded and not prone to seasickness and you will have a terrific view every day! Slept really well in the boat went to bed each night and woke up each morning to a view of the Eiffel Tower one direction and the Alexander the third bridge the other. Walk to the Louvre and wonderful shops and cafes. Beautiful neighborhood. Lounge on the deck in the evening with a glass of wine before dinner.
Pro's - Responsive and accommodating host, great location, individualized heating and cooling in bedrooms, comfortable beds, security system, parking for 25 euro/day.Con's- very small marine bathroom upstairs requiring steep stairs in the middle of the night, separate shower on bedroom level with no toilet. Shower area gets very wet and towels are always damp (1 towel pp per 3 night stay), lower level hallway very narrow due to two bookcases that would slow evacuation in case of emergency, no fire extinguishers on lower level where dryer is at. Couldn't get dryer to work. Lost power and water due to shore connection issue. Quentin came right away and fixed it, but it was late at night and had to wait 15-20 minutes. Boat traffic on river causes boat to bang against other boat moored with it and shore from about 8 am-11pm, lounge furniture cushions on deck had to be secured at night. To leave parking area, it required contacting host, but he was very good about doing it remotely at all hours. Mold and mold on front bedroom walls. Ants. Not super clean. Couldn't find silverware. Musty smelling.
This is not your typical VRBO. The location and the nature of it being a boat is what absolutely sells this. Itâs essential that you not have mobility problems because the ladders are steep, the hallways narrow and the boat rocks from time to time. However there is nothing else like this in Paris. Youâve got amazing views and just waking up to coffee on the deck over the Seine is unbelievable. The beds are very comfortable and the rocking stops at night so no worries there. However it is a lived in house ⊠and the place is clean and well-appointed but still, itâs a boat. I absolutely loved it. Highly recommend for something completely different - would definitely stay again.
Fantastic location -charming home - lots of character -terrific host
We had an absolutely lovely time. Host was amazing and helpful. The location canât be beat and is so charming - a rare opportunity to experience life in a houseboat on the Seine. The barge was well-equipped and warm (we were there in February). Beds very comfortable. It was quiet and the boat rocked a little but not at night. We brought pasties back for breakfast and made coffee and enjoyed leisurely mornings. The location was close to museums and the Eiffel Tower. Stunning views!!! One of our party takes a morning jog and enjoyed running along the river. The boat is rustic and lived in and that contributed to the charm. Stairs are narrow and need to use caution. Overall fantastic experience.
Take out dinner under the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower
This is the best location in Paris.
If youâre able bodied, donât get motion sickness, and you prioritize walkability to major attractions, enjoy beautiful scenery (river views, Eiffel Tower & bridges) and like having a whole home and outdoor space to relax in and donât mind a little eclectic clutter -this might be the perfect place for you.
This isnât the typical perfectly turned out and decorated VRBO that some of us US residents expect but rather a lived in rental with all the comforts of home. Find a book, play chess, curl up on the couch on the deck with your take out and a bottle of wine and enjoy watching life go by on the river and the sun go down behind the Eiffel Tower. The location canât be beat. We walked to the Louvre (18 min) in the morning, to the metro, to the Champs Elysee, and to amazing take out restaurants.
There wasnât WiFi which wasnât an issue for us but there was a great security system. We were two some traveling alone and we felt safe.
The beds were comfortable, Quentin was an awesome host and extremely responsive, check out was quick and easy and he made finding and checking in easy, and we would check in again in a heart beat and recommend this to most people. The only negative is that it needs a deep cleaning but honestly it did feel pretty authentic.
If you have mobile issues or donât like enclosed spaces or have trouble with small stairs, this is NOT the rental for you. On the other hand if youâre a romantic or wan an adventure or something other than a sterile hotel room this might be right up your alley!
We were celebrating a 60th Birthday. Staying on the boat made this one of the most memorable trips of a lifetime. Someone made coffee while someone else went to Angelinaâs and got pastries and then we all gathered around the wooden table of the cozy leather banquet and planned our day each morning. Evenings brought us to the deck drinking champagne with charcuterie while watching the Eiffel Tower twinkle. We walked to everything! One day was sunny and beautiful and one of our group planned their day around hanging out on the boat, lounging in the sun on the deck, reading, etc.
I canât wait to stay here againâ€ïž
We had a wonderful week on the boat. Great location and fun to watch the world go by on the Seine. The boat is very rustic and I would not recommend it to anyone who has mobility issues. You are on a boat and there are ladders between each level. For those looking for something different and with an adventurous spirit.
The barge is very rustic and has very tough ladder type stairs to bedrooms and kitchen and needs grab bars or railings to make it easier. Lots of spiders ⊠great place to explore Paris and experience Bastille Day we had no Wi-Fi and that was bad
âA Houseboat?!â said the husband. Is there AC? (Yes - very cool in each room - works great!), Is there a shower? (Yes, it IS handheld but not a problem), Are the beds comfortable? (Yes, very!), Is there security? (Yes, a very good system), and thereâs a washer/dryer/dishwasher, too. Now the boat wasnât built in 2022 or anything, so it is a bit rustic and if you are a clean freak, this may not be for you, it is not pristine, as you will share the lounge areas on the deck with spiders who make their webs there - know that they are there to help catch all the bugs and were not in our way at all - we coexisted quite peacefully - donât tear down their homes!! They are an asset for bug-catching! Mostly, I told my friends I wouldnât trade this houseboat for all the hotel rooms in Paris. You cannot and will not have near the same experience as you will staying here. Convenient to walk to absolutely everything and Quentin is a marvelous host! It is a constant parade of fun on the Seine passing your boat but the beauty is the bedrooms are cool and quiet below deck. I will never stay anywhere else in Paris in the future if this place is available. I miss it already!
