We found it a little difficult to find as we parked at the market square and you have to walk through a little alley just one minutes walk up the road. However, on entering the cottage , we felt at home straight away. The owners went above and beyond, making available: games, books, an umbrella and torches. Everywhere was immaculately clean. The bed was comfortable as were the leather sofas. The cottage is in an area with many walks and places of historical interest. We will definitely be visiting again.
The property was ideal for us as a family
First time in the area and everything was delightful
So much to see and do within walking distance of the cottage.
The cottage was fantastic very quirky, everything i exactly how it was described. We slept in the double in the family room as we liked the space but the other room looked lovely. The owners were lovely and we found the area quiet but plenty of options toget out
Very quiet location, well laid out property, with comfortable seating and beds, tiny issue dealt with incredibly fast by hosts, cannot fault them and plan to return
The cottage overall offers quiet and spacious accommodation which was warm and dry. The photos on the listing must have been taken a while ago because it now needs a little TLC decoratively and materialistically. Whilst on the whole the cottage is clean there are areas that let it down, mainly the kitchen and shower area. All the linen was clean but the mattresses are quite tired. Itâs also questionable having coffee and sugar in the kitchen if itâs been around that long itâs set like concrete. We booked because it stated parking was available, the reality is thatâs itâs a bit of a bun fight for parking in Cromford. Thereâs no parking immediately near the cottage since itâs tucked away and set back from the road. The suggested parking near the primary school was mostly always taken and tight for entry/exit. The safest parking was near the Greyhound Hotel, which was free but busy. I really think that âParking Availableâ should be removed from the listing because this is suggestive of onsite parking. Otherwise Cromford is a typical Derbyshire Village: quaint and charming. And you have access to the fabulous countryside of the area.
The cottage was beautiful and in a great location. Warning, the doorways are low and the downstairs bathroom unusable if you are over 6 foot.
The interior is comfortable enough, not too fancy but was a great starting point for our explorations.
Charming cottage well placed for lots to do as a family
A charming cottage with interesting history which was a good size for a family of 4. Kitchen well equipped and comfortable sitting room, breakfast/dining room and bedrooms. Double bed is small after being used to a king sized, but we knew beforehand of the bed arrangements and it did not spoil our stay in this lovely cottage. Lovely walks from the cottage and plenty to do, we would highly recommend. Thank you for welcome pack which was gratefully received after long car journey.
We had a wonderful time on our first trip to the Peak District.
The cottage is in a great location for loads of outdoor activities, plus only about 35 minutes from Alton Towers. There was plenty of room for our family of 5. Great communication from owners, easy to check in to. Close to a nice park to walk our dog. Our only complaint was the pillows. Will definitely bring my own next time! We would definitely stay again!
Cromford is a great place to stay. However, on arrival, we had to go to the shops for kitchen roll, toilet paper and antibacterial spray (not a problem, but we expect these things to be in the house.) We then discovered a pair of dirty knickers and sweet wrappers under one of the single beds. This led us to believe that the house had not been cleaned to a good standard. Other than that, the accommodation was good.
Lovely quirky cottage in interesting village and very convenient for local attractions in the Peak District. The hosts were very helpful and responded quickly. The cottage was very well equipped and warm and had comfy beds which could sleep up to 6 guests with ease.
Very clean homely feel, comfortable cottage. Very quiet location. Everything in it that you need & more. Situated in a smaller area friendly village, central to various places of interest.
Check in was good as it was autonomous but the road to stop and unload was much busier than expected - made more sense to park in the suggested spot and walk back down from there. Parking slightly concerning as not official - beware birds in tree make a mess! Cottage down footpath and nicely laid out. Typical old cottage but nicely kept. Didn't use much kitchen equipment and nice to have some items left for us by host. In all very positive!
The property is absolutely stunning, so peaceful! We stayed here to visit family over in Belper and it was so nice to have our own space to go back to. The cottage was warm welcoming and cosy, the surrounding area was so beautiful and we had everything we needed right in our doorstep.
We had a lovely stay, the cottage is very well equipped and was very quirky, all the information was clear and included some interesting local history. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit the area
Everything was great. We wanted for nothing.
The are was amazing. Full of 18th century history including the cottage.
We walked to the Mills, along the canals. Infact we walked everywhere
Cottage really nice and homely only thing we think is kitchen and dining room could do with a bit off a decorating and for dark nights a bulk head outside light to light court yard up apart from that a beautiful cottage to stay
