Situé dans Thorpe, un charmant village à l'extrémité sud de la région de White Pic du parc national de Peak, Thorpe Cloud View chalet est un lieu de vacances de charme dans l'enceinte de quatre acres de, mais mis à part, Thorpe House, une fin géorgienne calcaire de deuxième année immeuble de caractère considérable répertorié. Le chalet, a attribué la note maximale de cinq étoiles, offre une vue imprenable sur Thorpe Cloud, à l'entrée de Dovedale, la gorge de calcaire qui sépare le Derbyshire et Staffordshire. Les localités avoisinantes offrent une excellente marche. La pittoresque ville de Ashbourne Derbyshire de marché est seulement à environ 3 miles de distance; la ville thermale de Buxton, et les maisons historiques de Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall et Kedleston sont tous faciles d'accès. Alton Towers, le plus grand parc de loisirs du Royaume-Uni se trouve à seulement une vingtaine de minutes en voiture.

Absolutely fantastic cottage for a break in the peaks. Well equipped and very clean cottage. Very comfortable with a big garden. The pool was amazing. We will definitely be coming back.

Perfect in Every Way

Beautiful accommodation, clean and comfortable. Great views with the exceptional addition of access to a private swimming pool and jacuzzi. We enjoyed local walks and pub with great food 10 minutes away. Highly recommend, we will return!

Everything you could want

This was our second visit. This is a really well-designed and characterful small cottage with a large (and warm!) private pool a short distance across the garden. There are fabulous views of the lower part of the White Peak area from the cottage, and walks from the door or from Ilam - a couple of miles away. The hosts offer a warm welcome. Another great stay.

We had a long weekend stay in Thorpe view cottage. The cottage is well furnished, clean and cosy. The garden is well maintained with exceptional views. The pool is a great feature, was used every day. Ray and Julie are warm and welcoming hosts. Good location, ideal for walker's and cyclists. We had a hearty meal on two occasions at the Old dog pub, served by friendly landlord and staff.All in all we had agreat stay,will certainly return.

Excellent Christmas Break

This is a beautiful quiet cottage finished to a high standard with everything you need for a chilled relaxing holiday.Communication with Ray and Julie was great and the pool was an amazing addition to the cottage.The location is perfect for walking Dovedale 30 mins, Tissington trail 20 mins and the Old Dog Pub which was very welcoming 10 minutes walk.Cannot fault the whole package and would not hesitate to revisit in the future.

Beyond expectations

We were delighted to be able to stay at Thorpe Cloud View for 3 nights just before Christmas to celebrate my 40th. The cottage itself is spacious and really well equipped for a comfortable stay. We especially liked the Christmas trees and the cosy feel with the fireplace. The pool was simply incredible and equally as well kept and equipped as the cottage. The little touches like plenty of towels were much appreciated! Last but not least the hosts were brilliant. Ray was super friendly and personable. He took the time to make sure we found the right driveway (in the rain!) and helped get us settled so quickly. Many thanks again for opening your home to us. We look forward to returning in 2025 so that we can explore this beautiful part of the country. Best wishes.

Fantastic Peaks Property

We had a fabulous 3- night break at this beautiful property. Ray, the property owner, was very welcoming and helpful and the property itself is perfectly located, spotlessly clean, well equipped and beautifully furnished. Thorpe Cloud Cottage - EXCELLENT

This was an excellent cottage in a very quiet location and having our own pool was perfect. The hosts were great and on site, provided everything you needed (including a nice bottle of Prosecco) - But left us enough space to enjoy our holiday. I would definitely recommend this for a quiet, peaceful getaway and an opportunity to explore the Peak District, as the location is perfect for either walking or driving around. I am sure we will be returning !!

Clean well appointed cottage in beautiful surroundings

A delightful cottage. Roomy, clean and well appointed. En suite and separate shower room. Private and lovely views from the back. Front shares a drive with the main house (which is not visible from the sitting area at the back) and access to the separate swimming pool building. The pool is excellent with a good length for swimming, and with an attached jacuzzi. Overall an excellent base for relaxing and exploring the Derbyshire countryside.

Just beautiful

I stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful cottage. The area is just stunning. Cottage is outstanding and the owners could not have been nicer. The pictures of the pool area really do not do it justice! I cannot recommend this cottage enough. I am already planning my nice visit!

Julie and Ray have owned this property for the last 20 years. The standards are always getting higher as we receive great feedback and ideas from the guests.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We are told by the guests that this is the best cottage they have stayed in with the amazing indoor swimming pool (not shared) and the fabulous stone cottage together with the large garden and incredible views over to the hills including Thorpe Cloud View (this featured in the last Robin Hood movie with white horse image on the hill). The cottage is ideal in all weather, cool in the summer and warm in the winter with the log burner and the eco-friendly central heating.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Outside:
A private estate with fantastic gardens in all 4 acres.
The Holiday Cottage enjoys uninterrupted view of the hills of Thorpe Cloud at Dovedale. Often you will be able to watch sheep and lambs, cows, bulls and calves, many types of birds including woodpeckers all from the secluded outside seating area of the holiday cottage.

Indoor Swimming Pool & Luxury Jacuzzi. This opulent swimming pool is heated to 31 degrees. It is about 1.4meters deep and 14 metres (40 ft) long. Ideal for the serious swimmer, for the beginner or for the children. The Jacuzzi has its own heating control and has jets from the sides and the bottom of the seat.

Utility Room:
Eco friendly remote central heating system (biomass wood pellets)
Washing machine and dryer.

Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service:
The cottage is cleaned after each guest visit. Towels and bed-linen are provided (this includes a towel for each guest in the cottage and also a second towel for each guest in the poolroom). Our gardener tends to the grounds and may start early (7.00am). Also our handy man is often around keeping everything looking great. This will include moving and loading wood pellets to a centralized green energy heating system.

Other:
Galleried landing over the lounge/sitting room gives an open spacious feeling.
