This house just have everything. Excellent location near a small village with a wonderful view.
At the village (Casalini) there are two minimarkets, bakery, a bar with coffee and homemade italian icecream, two restaurants and a very nice pizzeria with tables outside. You will have to make a reservation to be dure to get a nice table in the yard.
Only 3-4 km away is the lovely town of Cisternino located. Be sure to visit at least once. Around the area are another lovely towns worth visiting.
The house it self was excellent. 3 rooms, one kitchen and one bathroom. Outside by the pool is another small bathroom, which could turn out to be important, if you travel with teensđ The pool is big (5x10 m) and clean and with 4 sunbeds.
And the best part is, that Annalisa is very kind and serviceminded. We got a free meel as a gift, when we arrived late the first night and a free tour at the winery as well, where there was plenty to eat and fine wines to taste, so donât go by carđ Thank you for a lovely holiday - Annalisađ
Tutto perfetto
Beautiful villa, great quiet location, with the local village only a short walk away.
Everything was better than we ever expected. From the welcome we first received from Annalisa and her family, through to the lovely well equipped villa, with the best bit, its own swimming pool! The local village is only a short walk away, and provides local produce at very reasonable prices. We also found the local bar and restaurants very welcoming, and excellent value for money.
The wine tour with the family is a must to, you will experience "all" that goes into making great wine.
Thank you once again, I am sure we will return, Ray, Sandra, Neal and Sharon.
We loved staying here. The house, garden and pool were fabulous. We loved the tortoises!! It was great to be able to walk to the village for fab restaurants and supplies. Ideal location for visiting historic towns and beaches
We had an amazing stay in the Villa. The location is great, just a short stroll to the nearby village where there are shops and a few lovely restaurants, and a short drive from a lovely beach and the beautiful towns of Ostuni and Cisternino. The house itself is spacious, clean and very comfortable. We traveled with our 18 month old toddler who was in complete paradise and Annalisa very kindly arranged toys and other baby equipment which added enormously to our enjoyment of the trip. We received an extremely warm welcome from the whole family who were friendly while not being intrusive. Highly highly recommended
A place to relax. The house is very lovely with a nice poolarea. The house is placed outside a small village but close to all you need for a fantastic vacation. We can strongly recommend this stay. The hostfamily is lovely, so welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Thanks again Annalisa, Gianfranco, Nicola and the rest of the family, especially Emma from Livia! We really appreciate your hospitality.
There's very little I can add to the previous reviews.
Everything was fantastic. The Semeraro family couldn't have been more welcoming and were always available to offer advice and help when needed. They definitely go above and beyond! The house is in a perfect location to explore all the beautiful places in Puglia and if you just want to relax the pool and grounds are just beautiful. The village of Casalini is just a short stroll away and has a great choice of restaurants and a couple of small supermarkets for fresh bread and meat etc. We stayed for three wonderful weeks and enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked to return in 2016.
Can't wait!
Cannot praise this villa or the wonderful Semeraro family enough. We had the most wonderful 11 days and everything was exactly as promised. Nothing was too much trouble for Annalisa, despite the fact she was not so well she made herself constantly available to help us. Annalisa's partner, Nicola, went beyond the call of duty to accompany us to the hospital when our youngest needed treatment - also spending an hour nursing our older toddler in the waiting room when we were in the operating theatre. We will always remember Nicola's kindness and concern in ensuring our daughter received the right treatment, not to mention his diligence and patience driving with us around the town at night to find a pharmacy stocking the drugs we needed. Much praise must be given to the doctor and staff at the Cisternino a&e who surpassed my expectations in many ways too (but hopefully this isn't something most guests will need to worry about!). We thoroughly enjoyed the Semeraro wine (The Opera is brilliant, far too easy to drink...), the easy walk into town and the handy local amenities (the best meal we had was at the Four Leaf Clover restaurant, we arrived unannounced and the restaurant looked closed, we asked for a pizza and were told the oven was not on but we could have pasta or fish - cue the most wonderful, fresh lunch of salad and antipasti (complimentary) and pasta in a really easy setting with staff so happy to accommodate our two little ones) made this one of the most relaxing holidays we have had with our girls, even taking into account the hospital visit. The villa is such a tranquil place and the view is quite mesmerising. Lots of easy day trips and the beach nearby, we just loved our stay. Lunch with the Semeraro family was a particular highlight, beautiful food and generous, welcome company. Thank you Annalisa, Nicola and the rest of the Semeraro family. We are so thrilled we chose your beautiful villa. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I cannot praise the Semeraro family enough.
Fantastic welcome and a beautiful lunch with 4 generations around the table.
Well presented villa plenty of room with a fabulous pool and garden area.
The option of a stroll into the small village of Casalini and not to have to use the car all the time was a huge bonus. A tour of the family business with our passionate tour guide Pierfranco (sorry if incorrect spelling) led to plenty of wine tasting afterwards. Great fun especially the Operah.
Perfectly placed for exploring further afield with Cisternino ,Ostuni and Martina Franca on the door stop.
Wonderful beaches 20 minutes drive away.
Good luck with the new arrival Annalisa!
See you next year we hope.
The Villa is lovely spacious and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The family are warm, friendly and happy to assist in anyway. This village is very convenient with the local amenities only a short walk. Travelling by car is a pleasure and all route are well marked.
Highly recommended
WOW - returned only yesterday and want to return - it is like staying with family - the entire Semeraro family are beautiful.
The villa was perfect and the hospitality shown by all incredible. The pool was perfect for staying cool during the heat of the day and the restaurants of Casalini are varied and great value. A morning coffee and pastry at the 'Meeting Bar' is a must!
Pierfraco's tour of the winery showcased the family's passion for wine making (I have to listen to more Mozart).
The local area is great for exploring via car or cycle and a wonderful beach set in a national park is 30 minutes away.
Cisternino comes to life at around 9pm, when it cools down, and is a great experience, however, we rarely moved from the pool.
Am determined to return next year.
You couldn't wish for a nicer family than the Semeraro family who own this lovely villa. My husband and I arrived very late after a long journey and from the moment we were greeted my Annalisa and shown where we were staying for the next 2 weeks, enjoying a pre-planned home cooked meal and bottle of delicious family wine, we relaxed. The villa is spotlessly clean and comfortable, with air con and fly screens although there were no mosquitos. We sunbathed around the pool, in the landscaped and well kept gardens giving the outside space with nice view of the town a real air of luxury. Without being intrusive we were invited to join the family for lunch which was wonderful hospitality, I attempted my Italian and Annalisa, whose English is perfect, translated. A visit to their wine bar in Casalini and tour of wine museum, made for one of many enjoyable experiences. It was our first time to Puglia and we will certainly be returning to explore further and would go back to Villa Macchiosa!
I cannot recommend this villa highly enough for many reasons. When you are travelling somewhere for the first time you can Google information but really you do not find out until you experience it first hand. Firstly, we were delighted when we arrived regarding the villa itself, it is immaculately clean and very spacious. Secondly, the villa is perfectly located as most towns/villages we wanted to visit such as Martina Franca, Locorontondo, Alberobello and Ostuni where all 15-30mins driving distance & Cisternino was minutes away. It meant we did not spend our whole trip in the car and it was great to visit somewhere in the morning and because it was so close, come home to the villa and spend the rest of the day by the pool. Of course there were longer trips such as Lecce, but again, an hour takes you there. Third, is Casalini itself. Whilst it is a little hamlet the people are lovely and we were incredibly lucky to be there when the local festival was on, something we definitely want to go to again. We both love to cook and would normally do a lot of cooking when we are on holiday as the local produce is so good but on this trip, we did not. Breakfast and lunch in the towns we visited was too nice an experience not to repeat on a daily basis and very reasonably priced. In the evening we usually ate in Locanda in Casalini, the food is amazing. Finally for us the most special thing about this villa and Casalini is the owners of the property. Annalisa and her whole family really did make our stay from their kindness in helping with directions & enquiries â nothing was a problem, to showing us around their vineyard and educating us on wine â a fantastic experience. If you are looking for somewhere to completely recharge then this is it. If you are looking somewhere safe for you and your children to holiday, this is it. We cannot thank the Semeraro family enough and will most certainly be back to visit at the next available opportunity.

We are an Italian family originated from Cisternino and we run a family wine business with an enoteca based in a hamlet in nearby Casalini. We would love to welcome you to visit our cellars and take you through the experience of making wine.
