Mooi gelegen karakteristiek huis met fijn zwembad.
Mooi ruim, origineel, mooi gerestaureerd huis. Fijn, best groot zwembad.
Omgeving is prachtig. Veel te zien in de omgeving en prima fietsroutes (ook behoorlijk vlakke) in het Valle Umbra.
-We expected a house with 4 beds - 2 bedrooms - so we can choose. There was only 1 bedroom open an the bed was bad.
-We had only 1 set of towels per person for 2 weeks....
-On the 1st floor it was very hot during the nights.
-It was expected that we feed the (wild) cats outside!!! It was not mentioned there were cats.... they sat on the tables, on the beds by the pool etc. That was a very unpleasent surpruse!
- Pool was nice, place was nice, beautiful environment....!
Was wir besonders mögen?
From its elevated position this villa has the most wonderful views and is an oasis of peace. It is generously equipped and feels like a home. The weather was very hot while we were there but the house remains relatively cool and the pool was fantastic. We were entertained by three kittens during our stay. We found the drive up to the house quite daunting at first but got used to it after a couple of days. There are plenty of places nearby to visit in this beautiful part of Umbria. All in all, a very enjoyable stay.
Globally great place, some weaknesses in broken outdoor equipments but not critical. @Philip : please a serious shadow shelter on swimming pool would be great !
Thanks for this good place and easy contact :)
After a hectic 5 days exploring the sights around Naples we arrived at Bellavista to a haven of calm. The property is aptly named for its panoramic views of the Vale of Spolleto. This was our first visit to Umbria and our first time to Italy in Spring. Though we experienced unseasonably wet and cool weather this did nothing to spoil our enjoyment of the property or the area. The potential for walking and wildlife enthusiasts is limitless from the house. We particularly enjoyed foraging for wild asparagus and herbs during our many walks from the house. The house is ideally situated for visiting the medieval villages of Assisi, Spolleto, Spello,Montefalco, Todi etc and the village of Trevi with its good range of restaurants is easily walkable along the mountain paths. Though we did not venture into the pool, it is beautifully situated and would add another dimension to a holiday had the weather been kinder to us. The house is sited high up and the approach roads are steep with some sharp bends, however, our fairly basic hire car made it up and down without much difficulty. The owners, Philip and Rosita provided excellent introductory information and the local agents, Fiona and Richard were extremely helpful with local information. We would certainly use this property again.
Beautiful surroundings with a fabulous pool for all the family.
This is a cool and comfortable property with views that really do take your breath away. The privacy was wonderful and our children didn't miss the internet as there is a DVD player to watch films on.
The house is comfortable and spacious with great bathrooms.
All the surrounding restaurants served mouthwatering Italian cuisine... my children said it was the best food they had ever tasted, and I have to agree!
The only tip, take insect repellent in the high season.
Such a wonderful place, hidden in the mountains near Trevi. It's just downright perfect and I'm a bit hesitant to be very positive about it since I don't want this hidden gem to be known to anyone :-) But that wouldn't be fair, so let me write a short review. We liked everything about it - the large pool, the stunning view over the valley, the big kitchen. And the fact that all utensils and supplies were already there, like sugar, coffee, olive oil. But most of all we valued the intense privacy. On some days we didn't see anyone climbing or driving the dirt road behind the house.
That, and the sweet cats coming to visit us of course (please do give them a bit to eat!).
A few practical notes: there's no WiFi, but good 4G reception if you need to go online. The road leading to the house is very, very steep and you won't be able to turn the car if it's anything bigger than a Fiat Panda, so remember to get a small rental car. And if it is a Fiat Panda, turn off the ASP function, else it'll stall. ;-)
In short, the perfect getaway. We were seriously sad when we had to leave.
The property was excellent and the photos hardly did it justice. The directions were excellent
The whole trip was first rate and the accommodation was terrific. We had a great time and with the wonderful instructions and recommendations we were able to get the maximum from our holiday
The house is in a stunning setting with the most amazing views. Surrounded by trees and plants, it really is a lovely place to chill out and relax. The pool is lovely and well maintained and the kitchen facilities comprehensive. If you're looking for peace and quiet in a lovely Italian setting with numerous villages to visit locally, you will love this place. A hire car will obviously be required and it is a steep drive to the property but we got used to this very quickly. I would highly recommend Villa Bellavista
What a fantastic house in a most stunningl location. The roof terrace was amazing, 360 degree views. It was had everything we needed with basic larder essentials - and more! Lovely modern kitchen with many coffee making appliances. Useful patio area at front door, again with great views. Refreshing pool, cleaned quietly whilst we slept. Two fridges - one for food and one for drinks- that's how we did it.. Cosy lounge for the evenings when the sun went in. Appreciated the invitation to help ourselves to a bottle of wine on our arrival, which we did. Drive to and from the villa a bit worrying at times in a hire car but we/it survived. Nice walk from villa into Spoleto. Appreciated recommendations for restaurants etc. in the locale - most of which we explored..... Only downside was shower which due to local water supply was a bit disappointing but when on holiday you take things for what they are. Would definitely recommend to people who like countryside mixed up with medieval villages and qiuet times with a view from terrace, book, glass of local vino and cuckoo for company! Thank you Mr & Mrs Searley.
Hiding at the tree line of this beautiful Umbria countryside, surrounded by olive groves and nature. This lovingly restored rustic house is the perfect escape from a busy life. We've returned every year since discovering this place 7 years ago.
Eat and relax in the garden, listening to birds and crickets while overlooking the green valley below. Refresh from the Italian sun with a dip in the amazing pool. Completely private, you can go days without seeing another person.
Every year we're sad to leave, and excited to return. Clearly we want to keep this place a secret :)
We returned to the aptly named Casa Bellavista for our holiday this summer and I was again struck by just how breath-taking the location of this stunning villa is. Located next to The âWay of St. Francis', the pilgrim path to Rome, and midway between Assisi and Spoleto, the property, owned by an Anglo-German family, has all the amenities you could wish for, including a large kitchen/living area and even has a self-contained annex so there is plenty of space for family or friends to holiday together while still enjoying their own privacy. The roof terrace, where we ate many of our evening meals, looks out over the vale of Spoleto and is ideal for stargazing. There are also many wonderful places to eat nearby: the local town of Trevi boasts several fine restaurants and another personal favourite is in Montefalco (also famous for its wine as well as its frescoes) about 15-20 minutes drive. The highlight for me is perhaps waking in the morning to a perfect blue sky, then walking down the steps for an early morning swim in the immaculate swimming pool in the middle of an olive grove. Absolute bliss; private and unspoilt yet close to some of the most beautiful places imaginable.

We are a teacher and writer couple who live and work in Munich on a permanent basis. (When we are not in Pigge of course!)
We bought Casa Bellavista as it is ideally situated in Central Italy to explore many cultural centres and the wonderfully wild countryside. Umbria itself remains relatively unspoilt and provides many opportunities to get away from the crowds. Local food and wine is excellent. The house is both relatively remote in its situation just above the village of Pigge and the Spoleto valley, yet at the same time is within fifteen minutes drive of main roads, mainline trains, supermarkets and first class restaurants.
The house provides privacy and tranquillity in abundance; has a lovely swimming pool with spectacular views; is surrounded by woodland and olive groves and provides many opportunities for hiking or walking from the doorstep. Watching the sun set over the Umbrian hills while enjoying a glass of Sagrantino red wine on the upper terrace is an experience not to be easily forgotten.
