Everything was very nice and spacious. Keep in mind the second bedroom is a loft that is open to the living/dining/kitchen area below. The development isn't as well maintained as others I've stayed at and is not very accessible to the beach, but our unit was wonderful.

Wonderful stay in Poipu

Love this convenient location to stay during our vacation to Kauai. The two suites worked great, and the balcony overlooking the greenery and creek were a plus. Older residence but very comfortable, not a smell of mildew or the like. Would stay here again. Check in was seamless and great communication.

The villa was very nice. We were very impressed with it. I loved how much room we all had and space apart from our son so he could have his own room. It was comfortable and I would stay again.

Great Villa & Location

My husband and family (4 adults) enjoyed our stay at Waikomo Villas. The place was well equipped with all we needed and in close proximity to many activities. We were able to walk to dinner or coffee and a quick 5 min drive from beaches or Old Town. The community was quiet and a beautiful Garden oasis to walk through. The pool was clean and large. Having a laundry washer/dryer in the unit came in handy after beach/hike days. We will definitely stay here again!

Absolutely memorable

I have a dear friend who also owes a condo there. However, it is a one bedroom unit. Your place was fantastic and allowed us to have one of the best time we have had in Hawaii.

Everything we needed

We had a great time staying at this condo for our week long trip to Hawaii. It was the perfect amount of space for the 4 of us (2 couples). Location was great, walking distance to restaurants, markets, and beaches. We didn't mind the lofted bedroom and thought it gave decent amount of privacy. The A/C and laundry were a huge plus. The kitchen could use some love but it still was workable for the breakfasts and dinners we cooked. The beach chairs, cooler, and umbrellas were also very helpful!

Great property, great management

While almost everything about this property is great, it is not 5 star luxury, just 4 star. But an excellent 4 star to be sure. Loved the little add-ons such as lawn chairs, coolers, beach umbrellas, beach towels for our use. Very nice touch. And the Poipu location was excellent. The one glitch was non-functioning a/c. Apparently a lizard got inside the main unit and fried the circuit board and repairs were not possible during our stay, although valiantly attempted. If booking this unit, I recommend confirming that the a/c is repaired before committing to it.

We understand your frustration and apologize for the problem with the air conditioning. Waikomo is full of rich gardens and tropical wildlife and we simply cannot control nature. We fully inspected the property prior to your arrival and this damage after the inspection, only hours before your stay. We are sorry that this happened and, as you mentioned, we tried our best to get it up and working while you were here. We worked hard to get the part overnighted and attempted the reair the next day, however, this was unsuccessful. We are sorry that this impacted your stay. Tropical Setting

This unit has a tropical setting due to all the plants etc. on the property and it backs a stream. The deck is nice for sitting and listening to the birds. There are a couple of coolers, ice packs, chairs, pool noodles, snorkel, etc. in the unit. The kitchen is well stocked with knives, plates, cups, etc. Limited spices but we brought our own due to allergies, so it was fine. Unit is cozy and perfect for 4. The loft is open and does not have a lot of privacy, but it is a large, nice area with its own bathroom. We didn't mind and thought it was a great unit. Pool area is nice and at the most there was 4 others while we were there. They have tables and a BBQ area in the same place but we didn't use. Only thing we didn't like is you need a key to leave, which is a little hassle if not all leaving together. All and all it is a great unit and we would stay again without parents. Note- 33 stairs to get into the unit since it is on the 3rd floor. Something to be aware of if you have health issues. Mom did ok but we wouldn't rent here again if she was with us.

Flawless family getaway

This property is perfect for a family or friends vacation. Great location close to the beaches and snorkeling. Very clean, easy to talk to the property manager, quiet pool, great atmosphere with the gardens and an incredible AC unit. We slept in the loft and the temperature was 71 the entire time. Kitchen had two full sets of dishes and some spices and oils from other renters. The unit had some extra beach gear which was a huge hit! Highly recommend this property!

This is perfect southshore condo. AC and fans. Great balcony, bbq and pool area.

We had a lovely stay. The condo and grounds are perfect. The upstairs bedroom is a loft style, so not much privacy. But you feel like you are in a tree house being on the third floor.

A very nice unit but with one critical flaw.

When renting any privately owned property the condition of the unit can never be determined by looking at the photos. However, Unit 533 at Waikomo Streams scored pretty well in this respect. There was some typical wear and tear as is often found in a rental but not significant enough to diminish the experience. The one big disappointment was a very uncomfortable mattress in the loft bedroom. One side of the double bed sagged terribly (about 3 inches), making for a less than restful night and a stiff back in the morning. Unfortunately, this type of issue is not something the management company can address since they don’t own the unit. Hopefully, this review will motivate the owners to take action and future renters won’t have to endure what we did. Otherwise, the location was good, the complex was quiet, the pool was nice and well maintained and the condo was well stocked with assorted beach gear. The management company (Parrish) was accommodating and helpful, allowing us to check out at noon rather than 10am after we mentioned our dissatisfaction with the bed. Parrish manages a large variety of residences on Kauai so, while we certainly wouldn’t eliminate the Waikomo Streams complex on our next visit, we’ll definitely look at a number of other options as well. This was our 5th trip to the islands and we were very happy with this vacation. In our island travels, Kauai offers the best overall Hawaiian experience both for first time visitors or anyone returning to Hawaii.

Property maintenance was very good

The unit was a miserable experience. When we arrived it was over 90 degrees in the lower portion with the loft at least 5 degrees hotter My daughter ended up sleeping on floor in the lower level. One of the fans provided did not move any air. After we carried the luggage up the three flights of stairs, my wife and I took a shower only to discover the drain in the bathtub/shower was plugged The next day we found a hardware store and purchased two fans that actually moved some air. (We took them with us). We never used the loft in the 8 days that we had booked, as the temperature up there was not tolerable for sleeping The complex is convenient to the beach and shopping. A different unit may make the experience more enjoyable

Aloha Mark, I must say we are surprised by your review. When we spoke to you about the garbage disposal and had maintenance attend to it, there was no mention of the shower drain or the need for more fans. We certainly would have attended to both had we known. When you requested the late out, you stated you were "...having such a great time and don't want to go home...". We do know that it can get warmer when the trades are low and the sun is high, and are sorry that you did not have a more enjoyable stay. We can certainly guide you to a unit with AC for your next visit. Mahalo.

Spacious and affordable

There may not be direct beach access, but the price is right and the 2bedroom unit was clean and spacious, plus was stocked with bench accessories. A nice lanai overlooking beautiful grounds, which unfortunately did include some very loud frogs croaking overnight. You can walk 10 minutes to the beach by the Sheraton and Kiahuna Plantation or less than 5 minutes to shopping and restaurants. Only complaint is that the beds were too soft.

Great place to stay!

Waikomo Stream Villas was the perfect place to stay for my friends and I. It is in a great location within walking distance to shops, restaurants and groceries. A very short drive to Poipu beach parking. The amenities where great- the kitchen has all you need to prepare a meal, there are grills onsite as well. Very clean and quiet. The Master bedroom and loft had very comfortable beds. The pull out bed could be suitable for kids but not very comfortable. There was an air mattress in our closet as well. Fans are provided because there is no central air. It got a little warm but not unbearable. It is definitely no frills but has a Hawaiian feel and you should be our enjoying yourself anyway! The staff was super friendly and I would book a stay here again for sure. Even despite the roosters that can't tell the difference between day and night- lol!

Mahalo Shawn for your review. We will check out the sleep sofa mattress, but in general we do find they are no comparison to a normal bed. Thanks for the heads up. Sorry about the roosters...Kauai's alarm clock with no set time. People love them or hate them for sure...
