We rented this space for a Napa birthday weekend for my wife with some of her siblings and parents. We absolutely loved the space. Was very comfortable for our group! Would love to have a group stay here again
Our group had a great time enjoying the pool and house! Itâs a perfect spot for privacy and we really liked how much open communal space there is throughout the property. It was also great to have a fully stocked kitchen! Would definitely stay here again.
Used the house as a gathering place for family wine tasting weekend. About 30 minutes from downtown Napa so not too far. Nice big house with spacious areas.
This property is stunning. It is a little dated but doesnât take away from its charm. Only recommendation I have is that if you want the pool heated, please let the host know ahead of time. Dr. Ruth was very responsive.
Is beautiful all around, and the person that check us in Rocio was really awesome. The only cons are The water in the pool is cold at this time of year and thereâs a lot of stairs for a person that may not be able to go up and down, that maybe challenging.
But everything else was really great and incredible privacy. We all had a great time
The house was perfect for a bridal shower weekend. The space was absolutely gorgeous. I would just let you know that the pool was a little bit cold but it could be due to the fact it was overcast all weekend in May. There was mosquitoes as well but the area just got a lot of rain so that does happened. All in all it was a beautiful and spectacular weekend.
The property is at a beautiful location, it is very dated and not well kept but has a lot of potential.
The house was not clean, mold and cob webs throughout.
Lighting is poor outside and not safe during night.
Pool area was nice, outdoor furniture very dirty, stains on couches.
On the positive side the house was lovely, plenty of bedrooms and living areas with a well appointed kitchen.
On the negative side the spa and pool were very dirty and not usable. When we check-in I pointed out the issue and was told some would come immediately to clean. Unfortunately no one came until day 3 which was our last day and all they did was pour chlorine into the spa, which might have helped in 2-3 days but not while we were there.
Also there is a fountain in the entry courtyard which was also very dirty and a breading ground for mosquitoes. We all got several mosquito bites.
Stayed here for a bachelorette weekend party. Although it was a little on the older side, the property is charming and well kept. The only issue we had was with the spotty WiFi, which was a problem since most of us didnât have great cell connection.
Location wise, itâs a little bit of a drive (30-40 minutes) into the Napa area but not too bad overall. We used Uber Friday evening and it was not that reliable in this area but still doable. Saturday we used a car service for wine tasting and it was much better.
The host Ruth was very responsive to all our needs and inquiries, but her property manager wasnât as much. She helped us check in, but didnât give us the gate code, review the WiFi password, or provide much info. Often times, I had to reach out to Ruth since she was much better with responding.
Overall, probably not 5 stars, but a pretty solid 4 star review!
Gathered with many family members from different areas of country for. Wedding. Fabulous private place to stay. Close to restaurants, food, store, and lots of wineries! It was one of my favorite places I ever stayed and treated my adults kids! đ
I have stayed globally in very expensive vrboâs and this property was very expensive and did not deliver. The setting is pretty but really not at all wine country setting as described. However, the setting is pretty in the hills with the oak trees.
Maintenance needed:
Kitchen needs a deep clean - including the over.
Cabinets and drawers all unstable or falling
The pool house bathroom sink comes out as a trickle
The sinks all need adjustments - lots of loose faucets and
Better wifi - lots of text messages went unsent because of the weak wifi
Should always wash bathroom rugs before the next guest.
Positives:
Beds and pillows are very comfortable.
Pool is at a great temperature.
Recommendations:
Yellow jackets are really bad by the pool and outdoor dining table - recommend getting yellow jacket traps.
A lot of the indoor furniture is very dated and so heavy it takes a workout to sit down.
Good stay, few things didnât work - sad about the pool
We booked Dr. Ruthâs place for a bridal weekend getaway of 16 women. All of us were able to use beds and air mattresses and not feel on top of each other. The yurt in the back is a big secluded and does get pretty cold at night with no attached bathroom so I would recommend just having everyone stay in the main house, casita or pool house. Thereâs plenty of spaces to hang out and enjoy a night by the many fire pits and patio heaters. We especially loved the courtyard with the fountain.
We did speak to Dr. Ruth about having the pool and jacuzzi heater on because we specifically wanted to do a pool day but unfortunately the pool and jacuzzi were not heating at all at the end of April and we had to rearrange our plans.
We also booked Yolanda one of her cooks for a special dinner. She was the absolute best. We determined a menu and set brought everything and cooked at the home. Food was very tasty - people kept going for seconds and we had leftovers as well. The price was reasonable and sheâs super sweet.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and the check in, check out process was very easy. We simply wish the pool and jacuzzi was heated as that was the main reason we booked the place. Also a few tvs and such were not turning on. So just be mindful to ask about these things when you check in.
I'll start by recommending this property. If you're thinking about staying here but are in the fence, I'll encourage you to say 'yes'.
The property beautifully sleeps 10 (5 real beds and bedrooms) and can comfortably (though not as privately) sleep 4 more. The 'yurt' is quite nicely finished and feels like a private bedroom; is included in the 5 beds and definitely is less like a yurt than I had imagined.
Kitchen is fully stocked and spacious. Great table space and room to lounge with guests. We didn't use the pool due to our stay being in November, but it looked wonderful and photographed well.
Ample parking for 6 vehicles (1 for each couple in our case) and no lines for bathrooms or other amenities in our experience. Also reliable internet for the full duration, including for those who had to be on video calls.
Overall the property was wonderful and allowed us to have a wonderful time on our trip.
