It is a 2-bedroom villa just 1.5 kms outside the medieval town of Begur and a 10-minute walk from the stunning beach of Sa Riera. The villa is situated on a hillside on a quiet lane in the peaceful village of Mas Mato. The villa comprises a double bedroom and twin bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and washing machine, two toilet (one with a shower) and an living and dining area with DVD, TV and a log fire. The property also boasts a good-sized back terrace (100 m2) with a pool and BBQ and a beautiful front terrace leading from the living room. Free wifi
The house had everything we needed and was in a lovely quiet road. The pool area was great and bigger than we were expecting from the photos. It was a 20 minute walk from Sa Riera beach although coming back up the steps was quite hard work! It is a lovely chilled village and weâd love to come back
Great house in a good location - 10 mins down the steps to the beach and 25 minutes to Begur (as uphill!). Pool is a god send. Area is really special- so beautiful. Sigrid could not have been more helpful. Really loved our time away!
Empfehlenswert !
We recently arrived back an 11 day holiday at this beautiful villa. There were 4 of us staying in total (all adults) and there was plenty of room. The villa itself is comfortable with a large inside sitting room/dining area and a large outside space with a BBQ.
A car is necessary, particularly if you want to explore the surrounding coast line and beautiful beaches, although it is possible to walk to the local supermarkets and Sa Riera beach, which are both about a 20 minute walk. The area is very hilly so if your party is comprised of very young children or elderly persons then this is something to bear in mind.
Begur itself is beautiful and unspoilt. This also goes for Sa Riera, which is the beach closest to the villa.
Sigrid is extremely helpful and easily contactable. She lives in the local area herself and is therefore able to offer lots of advice about what to see and do.
Highlights include breakfasting every morning on the smaller front terrace which enjoys direct sunlight and warmth from about 8am onwards, the weekly market in Begur, the Dali museum which is a short drive away and rambling all over the fantastic coastal paths.
A great holiday all round.
This was our 3rd house in Begur. I donât go into the area of Begur how nice it is etc., I focus on the house.
We (family with two kids (7 and 9 years old) rented the house in June/July 2011 for three weeks.
The handover of the house was quick and easy, we even could get in at 2pm on Saturday afternoon.
The house is exactly as displayed on the pictures. The patio on the back was spacious with a big pine tree, so that we also had shadow included in the afternoon. The pool was clean and was maintained every week. The kids had a lot of fun in the pool, for adults it is more a fun pool than a swimming pool due to the length (maybe 8 meters).
The veranda on the front of the house was a bit too small for the four of us, but this was not a problem as we stayed most of the time on the patio in the back.
The inside of the house consisted of: a small restroom (which was still held in an old fashioned way but nevertheless clean and working), a nice bathroom with a toilet and shower, a fully equipped kitchen (pans and pots clean and a big fridge incl. a freezer!), a small bedroom for the kids with two beds and a bedroom with a big bed for the parents. Last but not least the living room with a table for six, entertainment (DVD, CD, radio and TV (also satellite) and a sofa.
The house was clean, everything was working fine but for three weeks it was a bit too small for us.
The service was excellent with the renting company, we had a problem with the oven and Mrs. Heinisch cleared the issue during 15 minutes.
The house is located close to the Hotel Convent, meaning really close to Begur (5 minutes by car) and the big beach in Pals (also 5 minutes by car); nevertheless you need a car, definately!
We had a really nice time in the house and I can surely recommend it.
This house was the perfect size for our family of four. The kitchen was well stocked and we used the pool everyday. You definitely need a car as it would be impossible to get around without one and we enjoyed exploring the quaint town of Begur as well as many other towns in the area.
Our only complaint was a strange ant infestation about 4 days into our stay - we dealt with it by using some stuff from under the sink and they went away within 24 hours. Insects are to be expected in that type of environment so it wasn't a big deal. There isn't any internet or telephone so it would be helpful to have a cellphone in case you need to contact your liason as the only telephone is in the center of town about 10 minutes away.
Overall we enjoyed ourselves immensely and found the area very charming.
