Very communicative, clean, spacious and full of amenities!
It was an amazing getaway for my sister, a social worker, my foster son, our two doggies and our friend, a nurse! Im a teacher and this made for a perfect end of the summer, before the hubbub of the school year begins. The binder of activities and restaurants was so helpgip and we even played some of the board games! helpful tooa nighly rrcommend.
Four of us travelled to the area to visit others. This place may be a bit off the beaten path for some, but it is absolutely lovely and wonderful place to stay. I would return!
We had 7 adults one child 16 months. Lots of room and had everything we needed for cooking. Hot tub was great after wedding to relax and warm up. Awesome location. Would stay again
Great for a family! Close to snow play at Mt. Baker! Great hot tub!
This large but cozy cabin housed us (10 people ages 2-70) comfortably, with great group space and room for privacy. The hot tub was wonderful, and the layout allowed for easy cooking, eating, and playing games. The location is wonderful: easy access to Mt. Baker activities, wonderful Crossroads Grocery close by in Maple Falls, good pizza restaurants not far, and tucked away off the highway. Though we had everything we needed, the cabin could use a thorough cleaning and attention to lightbulbs, tightening of a shaky loft rail, and working lamps. However, we would happily stay here again and recommend it with enthusiasm!
The property was just as described. It was clean and well appointed. The location was good. It felt relatively private because of the trees all around. We were seven adults, and it felt spacious enough for everyone to be comfortable. It is important to know that there is only one shower, so you have to be mindful of this with a larger group. Also, the bed in the loft was so squeaky that it kept people awake. (Especially the person trying to sleep in it!) Other than this we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it.
I was completely underwhelmed by this property. It's in need of some updating, including a coat of paint outside, new furniture, and a dishwasher. The beds were bowed and the bed frames were rickety and noisy. One of the bunk beds was missing the wooden slats that support the top mattress, and instead was supported by a couple slats and a thin piece of plywood, which didn't seem very safe. There is one small shower stall for the whole of the cabin - just be aware of this if you're bringing a large group. The washing machine didn't work. And we couldn't lift the blinds anywhere in the house, per the owners strict signage - which meant that we couldn't open the sliding glass door which leads to the deck. What is the point of having a sliding glass door if you can't use it as a door? Which leads me to another point: There were signs everywhere - like LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. I appreciate you wanting people to use your cabin gently, but the litany of threats (don't do this or it will result in a $100 fine...don't do that or it will result in a $250 fine) is a little over the top. Take a deposit if you're that concerned, or better yet, don't let out your cabin.
On the plus side, the cabin was located on a nice quiet street, the hot tub was in good condition, and I like the internal layout of the place. That said, we won't be staying here again and wouldn't recommend it.
The primary reasons we chose this property were the hot tub and BBQ both of which had major issues.
Hot Tub: The water initially appeared clean, but once in we noticed small black particles along with a few larger light colored things that almost looked like pieces of foam. I donât know if it was mold or other material from a bad filter but we didnât use it after that.
BBQ: The grill was completely covered in mold. I know this happens when a grill isnât used in the fall/winter, but itâs unacceptable that the grill was not in usable condition.
Other issues worth mentioning:
Key pickup directions listed the location as a Shell station, however it was a Chevron. We drove past it and in the dark on a narrow two-lane road it was extremely difficult to find a place to turn around once we realized there was no Shell station.
The downstairs bathroom floor was covered with dead gnats/flies. We had to wipe down the floor before we could use it.
All the beds were squeaky, and whenever someone upstairs got out of bed at night it was quite noticeable (and annoying) from the downstairs bedroom.
The downstairs bedroom was very small and had no place for our belongings other than a small two drawer desk in the hallway, with the closet in the room locked.
No lighting on the driveway despite floodlights on the side of the cabin. Had to unload in the dark.
It was a nice cabin in a beautiful setting; I hope these issues can be remedied for future guests.
Overall we had a lovely stay at this house! Plenty of room for our two families (4 adults and 4 kids / teens) to spread out and be comfortable. We loved the hot tub and gas fireplace. A second full bathroom would have been nice, as would some updates to the kitchen ware (cooking pots, cookie sheets, vegetable peeler).
We had a great time here. The rental company was very communicative especially with the snowstorm and conditions. The cabin itself was great, very cozy.
