This cute, clean little place is right in the heart of Haiku. You can walk to the store and a wonderful sushi restaurant! Communication with the host was great too.
Great cottage and location to explore the Road to Hana and that side of the island. Good covered lanai that had a refreshing breeze with many nature sounds. Good food at Colleenâs at the Cannery and Nuka. Would definitely stay here again!
Perfect cottage! We were pleasantly surprised at how it felt like home the minute we walked in the door. Bed is super comfortable. Kitchen very nice and had everything we needed.
It was a little challenging to find the home in the dark as it was hidden behind some other homes... but after we knew we were in the right location it was great.
The home was clean and the owner provided everything we needed for adventures.
Perfect location and property. I have been before and did not want to be in tourist central again, and this fit the bill nicely. Centrally located to great snorkeling, swimming, and surfing beaches. (I don't surf, but it was cool to watch. There were also tons of turtles on the beaches just resting.) Fresh limes right off the tree! Walking distance to good restaurants and a grocery store with amazing poke. I also loved hearing the birds and frogs. It reminded me of when I stayed at a jungle-like place in Costa Rica - so peaceful.
Great escape from the touristy areas of Maui, really enjoyed our stay in this clean, well-equipped, and quiet cottage. Will come back again in the future. Mahalo.
Loved this adorable cottage! It was absolutely perfect. All the charm of Haiku and the convenience was awesome! There wasnât one thing I needed that wasnât available in the cottage. Super cozy but with a bright beachy feel. Would book again in a heartbeat. LoveLoveLove!
Loved staying in upcountry Maui and the cottage was perfect for my husband and I! It was super clean and had all the amenities needed for a weekend away! The bed was comfy. The WiFi was spot on so my husband could watch the chiefs play. The coffee Ally left was delicious and perfect for our 2 mornings. The outside area and picnic table were private and quiet. Everything was wonderful and we definitely plan on staying there again! Mahalo!!
Perfect Location, Cute Beachy Cottage, 4 Miles to Hookipa, 6 to Paia Town
Alley's cottage is very nice small house in a small village haiku. It's the perfect place to start the trips all over maui. The quiet house is in a beautiful garden behind the owerns house. The house has all what you need - its very clean, bbq, outdoor shower, friendly owner, washingmashine, ..... The only thing is a car to get there and start your tripps.
All in all its a great place to stay
The cottage is everything pictured & written. It has many extras to make your stay extra easy; Beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, etc. It has a special private feeling tucked behind another house. Ally made her presence to be helpful if we needed anything, but wasn't overly present. Which we appreciated. We will definitely reach out to her again for our next stay.
Haiku Beach Cottage - Perfect location, great amenities!
"My friends needed a place to stay while on Maui for Kite Surfing and Stand up paddle boarding adventures. This Haiku Cottage was perfect! Just minutes from world famous Hookipa Beach Park, Kanaha and Kite Beach and walking distance to Nuka Sushi, Colleen's restaurant (get the Hangover Special for breakfast, da bomb!), Haiku grocery & Maui Kombucha. Everything they needed and more. Not to mention the owners even have Stand-up Paddleboards w/ racks that you can rent, right on property!! The cottage was beachy chic, very clean and bright and in a tropical setting. The owner was very accommodating and easy to communicate with and the cottage was equip with everything they needed. They felt like a local staying in Haiku and the waves and wind are awesome. They highly recommended this great little hideaway!!"
We really enjoyed this space. Great location in a little hamlet that has everything that you need (grocery store, food trucks, restaurants) all within a 5 minute walk. The cottage itself was clean and well appointed with lots of thoughtful extras such as beach gear (chairs, coolers etc) and a BBQ (which we used frequently). The kitchen was a good space for cooking meals and the lanai and backyard were great for hanging out after a day of touring around Maui. The only downside to this place (and certainly not something that our lovely host can change) is that there was a neighbor's dog who barked consistently throughout the day. For us, it wasn't too much of a problem but if this is something that would bother you, then it may affect your enjoyment of the place. Would highly recommend this one and if we visit Maui again, would stay here once more for sure!
We never had a chance to meet Ally as we were always on the go but she was very responsive by text and totally helpful.
The cottage itself is a fabulous up country getaway. A good size space for one person or a couple with all the kitchen and living room equipment you would need and a very comfortable bed.
If you are concerned about the lack of air conditioning, don't be. Haiku is very temperate and gets a lot of overnight rain (which is a very effective lullaby) so with the nice breeze that comes through, the cottage is completely comfortable.
If you are familiar with Maui, the location in Haiku is very convenient and there is a market and a couple good restaurants just a few steps away as well as yoga studios close by with even more food, recreation, and shopping in nearby Paia.
Central location for seeing many of the major sights on the island. Accommodations were very clean and space adequate for 2 people. Decor had an attractive beachy feel to it which helped immerse one in the experience of being on the North Shore. Paia is a great little town with many small businesses. Best of all, Nuka is s mere two minute walk away. IMHO best sushi on Maui.
My husband and I were excited to have an extended 30 day holiday at Haiku Cottage based on the positive reviews we had read online. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different. From the day we checked in until we left we were plagued with nonstop maintenance issues throughout our stay. In addition, the streaming Hulu TV constantly lost signal and sometimes it would be down for hours. It was nearly impossible to watch a newscast or movie from start to finish without an issue. The Wifi was intermittent, at best, and the only time it seemed to work was in the very early morning. I had to buy additional data for my iPad to stay on top of my business at home. While there is a full kitchen with stove, microwave and full sized fridge, there is zero counter space to prep meals of any sort plus the endless stream of ants (which we were told could be a problem) made it nearly impossible to have any food around. While we had planned to make our meals at the cottage we ended up having to eat out most of the time which gets very expensive on Maui. The one positive was that the owner was quickly responsive to the problems we encountered. We just didnât expect to spend a month in paradise having to deal with one problem after another.
This cottage was perfect my needs. It did rain unexpectedly in this area almost every day, often just for a short period of time, and in the evening, it was a bit closer to the other house on the property than I had perceived. However, the covered patio provided a private outdoor area and shelter. Also, there are ants, t, but they're small and predictable. Bedding was comfortable, closets and supplies excellent, kitchen adequate and living area comfortable. For outdoor recreation there were a few chairs, barbecue, many towels, insulated bags available, and an outdoor shower. It's not a long ride if you want a change of weather in Maui. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Great star gazing when there's a new moon.
Haiku is a very small town, but conveniently within walking distance of a couple of restaurants (had dinner at one) and a very nice country grocery store. I enjoyed the general quietude of the area. It's also a shorter ride to Haleakala than from other areas, and you are at the start of the Hana Highway. The Temple of Peace is nearby (walkable). They have a small health spa there. I wasn't there for their Sunday service, though I think I would have enjoyed it. The Temple also hosts a robust Kirtan on (most?) Tuesday evening if you have an interest. Paia is nearby and very lively ... allow extra time to get through the traffic light at the main intersection.
I had no need to contact the hostess, but had her contact information; she was available 24/7.
Everything was great, is exactly what the info says. Great location with lots of good dining within a few minutes walk. Quiet and private and comfortable space.
We had a great time here! The location is convenient for exploring upcountry and the road to Hana, and the coolers, beach chairs and snorkel mask made our day trips to the beach fun and relaxing. Some evenings we used the grill and ate at the outside picnic table, which was very nice. We really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful atmosphere here.
The cottage had everything needed plus fun extras like an outdoor shower. It was quiet but a block from a grocery store, coffee shop, and restaurants. We hope to stay again.
We had a great time here in Haiku! Ally was very helpful and responsive. The cottage was clean and there were many extras that were not even listed (pots, pans, plates, cups, containers, towels, beach chairs, sunscreen, bug spray, extra blanket, etc.). The hot water was not working when we showed up and she responded right away and had it fixed within hours. The town was quiet and we enjoyed some food at Colleen's and Baked on Maui.
This was our 1st VRBO that we have stayed. We are very pleased how easy the entire process was to us
The location was easy to find and close to other family. Allison gave awesome recommendations to groceries, restaurants and sites around town. Only down fall was a barking dog who barked non stop. Owner cant controlled neighbors animal. If we ever come back we will try to stay here again
Thank you for an amazing time
