Good location. Haiku is a perfect spot to stay where you can conveniently drive to other parts of the island. House is small but the deck is very nice to sit and get away from the wind. Getting out of driveway is a little tricky. Wish they had a better turn around spot.
This home was clean, had all amenities and was peaceful. The property manager was quick to respond and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. We will be booking again for sure!
Lovely home and property in a wonderful location! Loved hearing the Roosters, the Bamboo âforestâ and the occasional Moo of a cow from across the street! We had wonderful access from the house to all of our adventures!
Aloha and Mahalo!đđ»đș
This property was beautiful and comfortable . Only thing is if you need AC be sure to give ample notice for host to arrange to have it installed . Also we did not know unt we got there that : if ran out of hot water we had to follow steps to fix it , thankfully we did not need to deal with that as hot water was plentiful.
This is great for anyone who isn't sensitive to the smell of mildew or pesticides. The property and manager were great, no bugs, lovely deck, and all at a convenient location.Haiku is damp, mildew is to be expected, probably not a problem for the average person. Airing it out helped a bit.Unfortunately, I had a headache the whole time I was inside and had a hard time sleeping with the smell of mildew, pesticide and synthetic fragrance. Other than that it was great.
My family loved this place. It is much nicer than the photos IMHO. Light, bright, clean, with comfortable beds. Even the fold out couch in Living Room was quality and comfortable - rare for a rental house in my experience (these are often neglected). Location is nice and central, yet feels quiet and remote when you are home. My only advice - close all the windows and sliding doors before you go to sleep - I love roosters, but the ones here are very loud and wake up very early (like 3:30am).
Welche Freude, nach einem Tag voller AktivitĂ€ten dorthin zurĂŒckzukommen.
Privacy, calmness and a sense of personal space, which can't be achieved by any hotel.
"Baked on Maui" is just around the corner, you're next to the "Heavenly Road to Hana", but beware of natural noise, such as crowing cocks or barking dogs, which I'd prefer to any machine made noise.
Consider preparing your meals, which can be fun, since there's no restaurant around the corner.
There's just one dining table on the verandah, where
you can dine all year round.
The host, Chrissy, is very attentive to your needs.
And that's the reason I'm writing in English, so you, Chrissy, can read this.
Mahalo for everything
We stayed for a week in April. The house is neat, immaculately clean, has a covered wrap-around veranda, situated on a quiet street with cows on a pasture across the street. Itâs a short drive to beaches, to the volcano, and to the waterfalls in the rain forest. It has a well stocked kitchen with pots and pans, and a bathroom filled with a variety of shampoos and soaps. Restaurants close by are fantastic, especially Colleens for lunch or supper and Baked on Maui for breakfast. It was a magical stay and we will highly recommend this place to our friends.
We loved this house and the location. Close to Paia and Haiku. We ate at the food trucks in Haiku several times. We loved the privacy and sounds of the chickens. It was an also a great spot for starting the road to Hana.
Pretty quiet country setting not too far from Haiku town. Good location if one wanted to frequent Haiku and the Paia area by car. The house was adequate furnishings and amenities were adequate.
Enjoyed eating and relaxing on wrap around veranda either the privacy of the palms and cane barrier. House charmingly appointed and had well stocked, spacious kitchen.
We loved the house. It was very well maintained. Easy to access. Taking our coffee on the deck while listening to the rooster and looking at the palm trees felt wonderful.
We loved the Haiku Hale! The home is cozy, clean, and the breezes through the window are magical. The back porch and backyard are also lovelyâlarge with an abundance of trees and cute chickens.
HOWEVER: (1) the spot is not as quiet as described as it is seemingly surrounded by BARKING DOGS! We were awakened 3x in the night (on different nights) by the sound of several dogs howling and fighting (!!!) on a nearby property and also were awakened by howling twice in the morning. I mentioned this to the host, and her response was just that sound travels across the pasture. Fair enoughâŠand also still an issue not mentioned in the listing which boasts of ultimate quiet, etc. This may not be a problem for most people, but this is something just to note if youâre noise sensitive like meâsome folks may not care.
Also, (2) the biggest burner on the stove is broken and the bed pillows are lumpy and uncomfortable.
The bottom line though is that if you do decide to stay though you wonât be disappointed. The hale is private and generally tranquil, and is wonderfully located as a jumping off point for all sorts of outdoor activities. The house is well kept, and Chrissy has it nicely stocked as well.
We had a lovely time at Chrissy's place. We like the out-of-the way location and the house was impeccably clean and stylishly designed. Communication with Chrissy was easy and we appreciated her suggestions for dining. Baked on Maui is now a new favorite for us for breakfast (great coffee). We enjoyed eating dinner on the lanai, watching birds in the trees along the fence, and then when it got darker, watching the clouds come in before settling into our cozy room. Thanks Chrissy!
