Ledbetter is a scenic rural community just 6 miles from Round Top, home to the famous Antique Shows, one-of-a-kind shops, and Royers Cafe. The setting and the easy access to Round Top make it ideal for antique shoppers and families alike.

Big Moon Ranch began with a reverence for nature and a love of being outdoors, and grew into a quest to recapture a time when people connected over a campfire instead of a phone. We hope you'll join us and rediscover the simple joy of quality time with the people you love.

The sky out here goes on forever. Mornings are slow, with coffee on the porch and nothing on the schedule. Afternoons melt into a soak in the cedar tub, and when the sun drops, the stars come out thick the way they just don't in the city.

Before you pack
Big Moon Ranch is a true escape into nature, so a little planning makes your stay seamless. A few things to know and bring:

🔑 Self check-in, no front desk and no daily housekeeping, the cabin's yours to enjoy at your own rhythm
🧊 Ice, the fridge keeps drinks cold but doesn't make ice, so grab a cooler and bag of ice on your way in
🔥 Firewood for the fire pit, easy to grab in Round Top, 6 miles away, or pack from home
🍳 Cooking oil, spices, and groceries, the kitchenette's ready to cook and we provide coffee, sugar, and creamer, but the nearest store is in Giddings, so stock up on your way in
🥾 Closed-toe or hiking shoes for the trails
🧴 Your favorite toiletries (basics provided)

Because we're a self-check-in, unstaffed retreat, and that quiet is the point, we aren't able to arrange on-site setups, deliveries, or events. But the cabin, fire pit, and cedar tub set the scene beautifully for whatever you're quietly celebrating.


There's no public transit in Ledbetter or Round Top, so a car or truck is a must, and it gives you the freedom to explore the wineries, trails, and festivals nearby. Rural roads can be dusty and rough, so an SUV or truck is the comfortable choice. Ride-sharing is unreliable out here.

🐾 Pet Policy – Dogs welcome with advance approval. $200 flat fee per stay, up to 2 dogs.
