Maison de vacances pour 4 personnes env. 80 qmĂ Tweedsmuir, Ăcosse (Scottish Borders)
ED Refnr. 2771073
These traditional, renovated cottages are located on a working estate in the picturesque Tweedsmuir Hills of the Scottish Borders. The property is surrounded by unspoiled countryside, offering excellent opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, sightseeing, game drives, fishing, and falconry. Edinburgh and Glasgow airports, as well as Newcastle ferry terminal, are within easy reach.
The estate features an automatic bowling alley, which can be hired for a fun evening. A picnic table and barbecue are also available in the courtyard for all guests. Parking is available within the fully fenced grounds.
Furthermore, five comfortably furnished cottages, equipped with satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and a safe, are located around the paved courtyard, along with the stables. Electric heating and hot water are provided by a private hydroelectric system. A washing machine and dryer are located in the tack room and are available to all guests free of charge.
The local grocery store is six miles away, and two supermarkets are 15 miles away. Despite its apparent isolation amidst nature, the location is still central. Edinburgh, with its diverse range of sights, shopping opportunities, and the international airport, are just under an hour's drive away. The surrounding area offers unlimited opportunities for extensive cycling and hiking tours, hunting opportunities, falconry, and fishing in idyllic waters. Famous Scottish cities such as Edinburgh and Glasgow, and market towns such as Peebles, Moffat, and Biggar await your visit. Traquair House (the oldest continuously inhabited country house in Scotland), Abbotford House (Sir Walter Scott's home), Hadrian's Wall, and numerous abbeys can be reached in just under an hour by car.
