We celebrated my wifeâs 30th birthday with immediate family and were treated to a beautiful home with easy and private beach access. The space was immaculate, and the amenities were perfect for primarily staying at the house and bringing all of our food and supplies. A great stay, would recommend to anyone!
We really enjoyed our time here! The views were amazing, and we had fun fishing on the pier, playing games and flying kites in the yard, relaxing on the porches, and watching all the birds. The kitchen was stocked better than any other VRBO rental we've stayed at - it made cooking so easy! Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. We hope to return some day!
Such a relaxing place to stay. You have a view of the water from every window in the house. The deck overlooking the water at sunset is so beautiful. The house was gorgeous inside.
The place is as described, if not better. Malone bay on one side, Chesapeake on the other. Sunrise and sunset. Spotless, cozy, fully stocked. A complimentary bottle of wine to welcome us. We will be making this trip annually. Absolutely amazing.
We loved our stay at this property. It was the perfect size and setup for our group (2 couples and 2 toddlers). Open, well-stocked kitchen and comfy living room, with an awesome master suite and two other nicely sized bedrooms. Most notable is the setting - gorgeous waterfront views on both sides of the house! Loved sitting on the porch, and also loved taking the kiddos to the private family beach a couple times while we were there. We had a great stay and we hope to return!
The house was stocked with everything we needed, but the best part was the views. Out front, sunrise over Chesapeake bay viewed from either the picture windows or the balcony. Out back, sunset views over St James bay with views from the covered deck or down on the boat docks. Sandy beach out front, extremely peaceful spot, and way off the beaten path. We enjoyed watching the many birds, collecting shells, playing scrabble, and meeting hosts Roy and Debbie. Thanks for a relaxing weekend off the beaten path!
My wife decided she would like to encounter Maryland and enjoy some crabs. The journey of finding the exact location for a brief time away to escape the rush of school's beginning moments would lie before us. This spacious home provided more than enough. We enjoyed morning and afternoon times on the beach. The solitude aspect is exceptional. One morning a very special guest would venture our way, a bald eagle. We had no issues with telephone signal even though some reviews expressed otherwise. The local restaurants in nearby towns were exceptional. For three nights it became our oasis of relaxation! Thanks for the experience.
The property was exactly as advertised. The kids had a great time fishing, kayaking, and swimming on the bay. If we find ourselves needing a place to stay in St Maryâs again, this property is top on our list!
My family and I stayed at this house for just a few days, but we loved it. What a beautiful house , specious, clean and updated. Unique location gives you access to a beach on one side of the house and dock on the other side of the house. You can see water from all the rooms. The owner of the house Sarah was very easy to communicate with and was very responsive.
Cannot wait to come back again.
We had a wonderful time! The house was beautiful, spacious, and had views of water on both sides. We can't wait to return when it gets warmer out so we can actually enjoy the beach but we sat on the docks every sunset and used the firepit! Kitchen was stocked with anything you could need to cook, and we made a whole Thanksgiving meal. My only complaint is there could be a couple more comfy chairs in living space, 6 of us on the one couch did not work...and there's plenty of room for more furniture. Otherwise trip was great!
My childhood buddies and I have been renting this place every year for the past few years for our annual "Boyz Weekend." I cannot say enough good things about this property. Having the creek on one side of the house and the Chesapeake Bay on the other allows so many opportunities for fishing, crabbing, and wildlife viewing. Plenty of bald eagles and ospreys...Not to mention a few "keeper" rockfish wee caught from the Bay!
We'll be back!

This was the best possible vacation for us. The property was beautiful, clean, lovely in every way, and hit our sweet spot for outdoor activities. The property owner was a wonderful communicator.
This property was gorgeous. From the huge bay windows to the sparkling floors to the amenities, Markâs Beach House had it all. My family and I stayed over the Labor Day weekend and we were not disappointed. The views were spectacular. There was easy access to the beach. The serenity from sitting either on the deck or on the beach and watching the boats go by was immeasurable. The night sky was amazing. I would say if you are looking for a completely private experience, this property might not be for you. We found the neighbors to be wonderful and the caretakers to be a huge help. There was even a bottle of wine and a lovely note note left for us. I would DEFINITELY recommend this property, it does not disappoint.
We had a great time relaxing at the house; enjoying the water views, the sounds, fishing off the dock, checking out the river from the canoe. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and basic cooking oils and seasonings so you can stock with your food and not leave until check out if you like. We did check out several local seafood restaurants (Hideway, Kevin's Corner and Captain Pat's were good all good). There are places to rent boats and explore the rivers (highly recommend if you don't bring a boat.)
Leonardtown was a late find for us, but looks like deserves at least a half day of exploration. We discovered the Craft Guild Shop (local artist creations) there and ye old pub. If you like local art and crafts or antiques or want unique Maryland souvenirs, check out Cecil's Country Store, so many neat items! This was one of the most relaxing vacations ever, away from everything except when we didn't want to be. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!
We had a great week at Markâs Beach House, and Sarah was a thoughtful and wonderful host! Our family enjoyed playing games in the backyard and watching all the birds. We cooked meals ourselves most days and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was an easy drive to the grocery store to stock up. The canoe brought entertainment too! We had great weather all week but the couple times it did storm it was beautiful watching the storm over the water. The best part for us was the peacefulness and serene beauty. Thank you so much!
Secluded sanctuary with great water views and access
A perfect place to relax and get away for some family together time. Though we happened to stay during a rainy, cold weekend, with water views from both sides of the house and a spacious, comfortable home to shelter in, we were still incredibly happy and grateful to stay in Sarah's house. Despite the weather, we enjoyed daily walks and play on the private bayside beach and endless bird watching (and listening - the various bird sounds were mesmerizing) from the covered deck on the creekside (thanks, Sarah, for providing the binoculars! so thoughtful). Inside, the kitchen is well-stocked which supported us for our home-cooked meals so we didn't have to venture out (vegetable and olive oils, spices, flour, pots/pans/cooking utensils/knives, plenty of dishware). Dining table perfectly situated with a picturesque view of the creek. Comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. Enjoyed watching movies on the big screen in the main living area (clever feature with the timed sign in thru Roku) and playing board games. We had a great afternoon at a beach nearby after checking out on our last day when the weather cleared. And next time, we'll be sure to enjoy a paddle in the canoe! Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your home and for your thoughtfulness in providing everything guests would need!
This home was a fantastic getaway for our family of five! Â There is so much to enjoy here, and everything you need to enjoy it is right at your fingertips...a canoe with life jackets, wood and lighters for the fire pit, all the grill tools, and a kitchen with every cooking and baking implement you could possibly need. Â The water views from every room are beautiful and calming, with the bay to the east and the creek (which our kids kept saying is much more than a creek) to the west. Â We took the canoe out, we caught, steamed, and ate crabs, we relaxed on the beach, we cooked over the fire pit, we had lunch on the back deck, we had coffee on the front deck, the kids played the board games, and we enjoyed watching all the different boats and ships that would go past way out in the bay all day long. Â We are very health conscious right now, and we felt that everything was super clean and the entire area is naturally distanced. Â I had several questions for Sarah the owner to prepare for our week-long stay, and Sarah was always so quick and helpful in her replies. Â The property managers Roy and Debbie live next door, and their presence and hospitality contributed to our wonderful stay. Â All in all, we had a very special fall vacation at this home in a beautiful part of Maryland and would happily return.Â
A group of guys I have known for 50+ years and I get together every year for "Boyz Weekend." For the last several years, this property has been our "go-to" place. We can crab off the dock on the creek side, or fish off the beach on the Bay side. And there's always enough solitude for good friends to reconnect.
This beach house was exactly what we wanted for a quiet, Labor Day weekend. The house is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood directly on the Chesapeake bay. We really didnât see any people except for the property manager next door, who was very friendly, and some occasional neighbors passing by. The private beach access was just across the front lawn and convenient for swimming and fishing. The views were stunning all around especially for sunrises and sunsets. The house was spacious and kitchen fully stocked which made cooking very easy. Sarah was very nice and responsive to my concerns and questions every step of the way. I also appreciated the contactless check in and check out process. The only complaint my family had were that the beds were really uncomfortable. Iâd also watch out for the mosquitoes, there were many and pretty vicious when we were there. Otherwise, I highly recommend for a quiet and relaxing getaway.
We stayed here with our 9 and 11 year old. We loved that there was no one on the beach, and the home was super clean! Exactly what we were looking for our COVID vacation. The views from the home were gorgeous!
Great host and the rental team! We really enjoyed the house and kids loved the beach. The house was clean just like we saw in the pictures, and we thought the colors were even brighter. Views from the house is superb with waters on both sides. Although we were in a secluded beach house, we felt much safer with a long-term tenant in a different unit downstairs. I joined some teleconferences using my phones and both Verizon and T-Mobile smartphones were working fine during our stay. Thank you for hosting us!
We really enjoyed our stay and Sarah and Mark's place! The house was beautiful and had everything we needed (especially in the kitchen! Dont even worry about bringing spices or olive oil). Although the house was great, we spent most of our time outside. At the beach, on the canoe, on the deck eating meals...it was beautiful. I will say the knives are suppperrr dull so if you plan on doing some cutting maybe bring your own. We found cutting a pineapple to be extremely difficult haha! No fault of Sarah and Mark though, just an observation. The beach and fire pit were amazing. We had a great time!
