Relaxing Private Riverfront Retreat with Beach and Private Dock

We have named our house “Rivah Retreat” as your worries and stresses are left behind once you arrive and take in the river and all of nature’s beauty is nothing short of serenity! You will hear the locals and those visiting the Northern Neck Region say they are heading to the “Rivah” when they refer to this beautiful area. We hope you love this place every bit as much as we do!

The house is located in the Sandy Harbor community in Kinsale. The waterfront is located on White Point Creek which is a protected cove great for kayaking and paddle boarding. The cove is minutes away from Yecomico and Potomac Rivers, making it a boater’s and fishers paradise. Something for everyone! We provide three kayaks and one paddleboard and life jackets. While you are down at the dock we include eight beach chairs for relaxing by the water. We have a little beach area for relaxing, playing in the sand, or accessing the water.

Looking for a family, girls or guys gate away this house is perfect for all of those memorable occasions. We are dog friendly with approval from the owner.

When you are done enjoying all of the beauty of the water you can have a relaxing dinner and beverage on the oversized deck, relax by the indoor or outdoor fire. So many options to choose and the privacy away from any neighbors.

Inside you will find many amenities to make your stay relaxing including a fully equipped kitchen including extra’s like starter coffee, panni maker and crockpot. A full sized washer and dryer are provided with a few days worth of laundry pods. The house provides high speed wireless internet, games galore and TV’s to stream or watch your favorite movies. The house includes private King Master bedroom with large en-suite bathroom, second bedroom is large King bedroom that shares a hall bathroom with the third bedroom which includes a Full size bed, Twin bed and a Twin trundle bed. There’s also a half bathroom off the kitchen. A large stone fireplace in the great room provides a great play for everyone to gather on the cooler nights to okay games, watch your favorite movie and just relax and unwind.

We provide 8 beach chairs, bed linens and towels for the number of guests staying. The kitchen is fully appointed.

Great house by the river!

Clean, spacious and comfortable home! Kathy was very responsive and provided great information about the area. My kids loved to fish off the dock and kayak around the area. Thank you for a great stay!

Family trip

We enjoyed our stay. Plenty to do right at the house. Kayaking was the best part! Unfortunately we couldn't get in the water due to the jelly fish. Our best surprise was our visit to a near by winery called Hague! Yummy wines and good conversation with the owner Steve.

So Peaceful!

The property is exactly as described. It is a beautiful, peaceful and quiet setting! We loved walking our dogs around the neighborhood. Kathy was very responsive and provided information about the house and places to visit. Would definitely stay again, thank you so much!!

Comfort and relaxation

Bright and open feeling when you walk in. Very clean and well-kept. Every possible thing you could want in the kitchen. Beautiful view from inside and on the back deck. Beds and couches were very comfortable. Host was very responsive to our questions- timely and courteous. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Family/Friend Vacation

We absolutely loved our vacation in Kinsale on the water. The kids loved the swimming, fishing and making smores! The bedrooms were spacious and plenty of extra blankets. Warm water does take awhile when showering and it would have been nice to have the option for curtains on the doors and windows for night time. Other than that, we had a great time.

Great weekend away!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Very well stocked kitchen and comfortable spaces. My dog loved the yard and there is a nice walking loop. The early morning kayaking was incredible!! As a heads up, the nearest grocery store is quite far, but a very minor concern compared to everything else which was wonderful.

Home away from Home

This home has everything you need! We took advantage off all the goodies and went bike riding, kayaking, games and relaxing on the dock and enjoyed the beautiful water and weather. We grilled out and played music. The bedrooms and bathroom were big and clean and so so comfortable. The only negative thing is I can say is we couldn’t stay longer. We will definitely book again.

Very relaxing family time (including the pups)

This home is in a very quiet area with beautiful water frontage. There is a gravel easement road cutting through the very large yard between the house and the water but we hardly saw anyone. A very friendly lab, stick in mouth, did drop by to say hi! All in all, a great retreat.

Fantastic Property

Our party consisted of six adults. The home was extremely clean and felt brand new. The Showers had built-in dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and the towels included were high-end. The kitchen Had every amenity you could hope for. It felt like cooking in our own home. We enjoyed the water view from the deck and had coffee there every morning. There are umbrellas to block the sun, so you can enjoy the deck And the view of the water all day. We really enjoyed all of the games, puzzles, and outdoor activities like cornhole and ping-pong that were included. The kayaks were easy to access as well as the life vests. Overall, it was a fantastic stay!

Well appointed spacious home

House is beautiful. Plenty of room both inside and out for the 4 adults 2 kiddos and 2 furry kiddos. Honestly the only complaint is the lack of a decent broom and a mop. The driveway and some surrounding areas are sandy making it difficult to keep the beautiful dark hardwood floors clean throughout our stay. The fire pit was a big hit and plenty of fire wood to keep us entertained. The dock was a plus. Ample parking for 2 SUVs and a full size truck with a 24' boat.

Great remote work get-away

I spent a week here as a remote work getaway from the DC metro area. It was an easy 2 hour drive. The house was perfect for me and my dog with plenty of space for more people too. It was light and open with WiFi strong enough for video calls. I enjoyed working in the open space and my dog loved hanging out on the deck and huge yard. It’s not fenced in but only a few cars a day would pass. The house is well removed from a main road but there were enough homes in the community that I didn’t feel completely isolated. The kitchen was well equipped and everything worked. Also had some nice extras for the dog - food bowls and dog beds. I loved sitting out on the dock at the end of the day with a glass of wine… it was peaceful and quiet. I brought my own food so can’t comment on restaurants. The owner was super responsive to a WiFi glitch that was resolved within minutes. I would definitely come back here again.

Great getaway on the river

My family, including two boys under 10 y/o, had a great time. The house itself is very nicely appointed and helps you feel like you're treating yourself. The main room is open and airy and serves as a perfect gathering place. The access to the water was great--no steep dropoff or long line of steps. We were able to push the kayaks (there are 2 single kayaks) into the water directly from the shore. There are life jackets--including for kids!--fishing rod, cornhole, mountain bikes (though we didn't use those), etc. We also loved the board games and that there were ones appropriate for younger players (junior Scrabble and Monopoly, Jenga...). Lastly, Kathy was an amazing host. She provides awesome, helpful information re: the area, and was always very responsive in our communications. We had a bit of a hiccup with check-in and she picked up after the first ring when I called her, which was a lifesaver. Would love to come back!

Wonderful stay

Property was everything we wanted for a get away. House was very well appointed and had everything we needed. Water was refreshing until the jellyfish decided to pay us a visit. Neighborhood was so quiet. We took morning and evening walks with our dog and she loved it. Saw the occasional deer and rabbit.Kathy was so easy to communicate with. Can't wait to come back!

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway

We had a great Memorial Day weekend getaway.The home was set in a very private location and we enjoyed fishing off the dock.The beds were incredibly comfortable and we all commented on how great we slept each nighr.Grear place for quiet downtime which is what we were looking for.Thank you for a great stay, we will be back!

A great Thanksgiving at the river retreat!

We enjoyed a perfect stay. The house is as described, very cozy and quiet with everything you need for cooking, to relax, play, walk, etc. We also appreciated a lot the fire pit and the chimney as it was very cold. There's plenty activities and nice towns around.

Cozy, quiet and highly recommended

The cottage is very spacious with lots of light. It overlooks a small cove and the river. We saw ducks, herons, and eagles. The location is in a wooded and quiet community. Description on VRBO was accurate. Communication with the owner was great.

Great stay. Very relaxing and location rich in history

Great place for some family quiet time. We rode our bikes a few miles up the ride where George Washington’s parents met. Went kayaking out in the cove. And we loved the fire pit at night. 2 of the 3 bikes in the shed had flat tires, but we brought our own so for use it wasn’t a big deal. My boys loved watching NCAA championship game on the HUGE TV in the master bedroom
