Welcome to Wollongong, our Potomac Oasis!

We are a NEWLY RENOVATED fishing retreat directly on the shores of Historic St. George’s Island, MD, on the Lower Potomac. Catch absolutely brilliant 180Âș sunsets from our patio or private dock, and cozy up by our firepit!

Though our cottage is small, it sure is cozy and totally functional for short or long-term rentals. We have a full kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 bedrooms, linens + towels, cooking essentials (salt & pep, oil, pots/pans, coffee, spices), crab pots, A/C to accommodate a quaint and peaceful getaway. Large dock to fish for Rockfish & crabbing. Half mile to boat ramp access to St Marys & Potomac Rivers, with the Chesapeake & Pt Lookout 8-10 miles south.

Peace and quiet.

Had another nice getaway. Caught more fish than last time. Best sunsets around. Had a fire going in the evenings and hung out on the pier. Was a real nice way to end vacation season.

Everything you need

Family had a great time. Yes the place is small but we spent most of our time outside and in the water and it had everything we needed for that so it was a great trip.

Wonderful place!

I and my 10 year old son stayed at this cottage. It is wonderful, very clean and well-equipped. It did not seem small to us, in fact, it is rather spacious, with 2 bedrooms and a large and very functional kitchen. There is a great patio. We used it to watch sunsets and to view the sky through our telescope, but one can also do some grilling there. For my son, the highlight of the trip was swimming, we spent hours in the water, at his insistence. There were no jellies; I guess it depends on season. The shores are made with large and sharp stones, but there is a ladder into the water from the pier, and the bottom is soft and even. The owner is very responsive, great communication! There is an awesome restaurant just around the corner, and Weis is within 10 min driving. We tried to catch some crabs (very unprofessionally), but did not get any. Overall, we are very happy with our stay!

Top 5 Vacation for sure

We were looking for a WFH location to finish up my daughter's sophomore year in cyber school. This house was everything we hoped for and more! It was the perfect size for the two of us and our doodle. It had everything we needed and then some. The kitchen was modern and very well equipped (a garbage disposal AND sharp knives - a rarity in a rental house!). The water was better than bottled thanks to a full-house filter on the well. The beds were comfortable, and the yard was sublime. We were able to close off the driveway entrances with some temporary fencing we brought with us, and our dog was in seventh heaven with room to run and a dock to romp on. We saw ospreys and ducks and cormorants and jellyfish and fish (we didn't catch anything, but we're very new to fishing). We actually never left the house except for a run to Target for a graphing calculator. It was a perfect getaway! If you are sun-sensitive, I recommend bringing your own patio umbrella as the patio and dock are full sun from noon until sunset. We were lucky enough to need it every day because our weather was perfectly beautiful. I also recommend mosquito repellant. Five Gold Stars!

Great Location

great location - wonderful walks to St George island and nearby restaurant. It would have been so awesome if there were two kayaks available! It is a perfect spot to be alone and observe nature. Grateful for great hospitality.

Amazing place to stay!!!

Extremely clean cottage right on the water with absolutely breathtaking views. The owner responds very fast to any questions and was great to work with. The house is very well equipped with pretty much anything you need. The private dock with lights for night was really nice too. We would definitely stay here again! Also nice that it's pet friendly so you can bring your dogs.

The vacation was fantastic I think my grade is 10 out of 10, it's the third time I'm in that place and it's relaxing of course I'm going to recommend it to family and friends, maybe just one point this is not a complaint but there are two trees in bad condition and they are very close to the cabin and on the last day of my vacation I felt a little afraid because of the terrible wind that made I think it's the only thing that made me feel uncomfortable for my family too.

Fishing Cottage not a shack

From the moment we drove in the pots of flowers by the front door made me smile - this was an unexpected surprise, very clean, all updated and top of the line appliances, perfect for the two of us and our Labrador Retriever - beautiful sunsets, bald eagle and osprey flew into the tops of the pines right next to us, the wind nestled in the trees if you would just listen - the best dock in the area - if you want peace and quiet and love nature this is it for you - great restaurant within walking distance..very unexpected amenities...great couple of days for us...very close to Calvert Cliffs and a great hike on the Red Trail...five star host

A fishing get away

It’s a fishing shack , and it was great just to relax. My husband and son loved just going out tge door to fish and crab. House is doable for a small family . I was a little disappointed with having the jellies in the water. ( no swimming )

We like the house and neighborhood. House owner was very responsive. Very quiet and convenient community. We even got a chance to play some tennis at the Memorial Park nearby.

Relaxing vacation

Very relaxing stay by the water. The house was very clean and the kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, spices, etc. I would recommend a new nonstick but otherwise no issues! Plenty of ac units to stay cool and the dock was perfect for fishing and relaxing. We were able to get our kayaks over the rock wall pretty easily but our pups weren’t fans. They are more for the beach which we did find nearby. The fire pit and grill were great with plenty of charcoal and wood. We did buy extra at the market 10 mins away and leave some extras for the next person. Weis markets is 10 mins away and has everything you should need. Bring bug spray! Overall 5/5 and would stay again!
