Ideal location for exploring the island. Close walk to everything in town and easy drive to Kahului and Kihei.
Lanai and backyard were awesome with many places to hang out and relax. Turtles off the beach daily.
Overall, a great spot for a large group!
The Milo home is perfectly equipped and centrally situated in Paia to enjoy every aspect of Maui. The support staff is very friendly and attentive to ensure an enjoyable stay. Itâs a very short walk to the beach and town. We will stay here again! Loved every minute of our stay.
Had a big family and friends time there. Loved the walk to town location, the on the ocean roar of the waves, the fans and a/c though a/c was not needed. great kitchen. everything one needs, easy as peasy. fantastic vacation. thank you
Our stay at Milo House was absolutely wonderful! The house had plenty of room for the 7 of us. We particularly loved the two lanais with beautiful views. We also really enjoyed the proximity to Paia and to the beach. We could walk to so many restaurants and shops within minutes and a swimmable beach was only a few minutes' walk away, as well. We all highly recommend Milo House and are already considering coming back!
Milo cottage was a perfect hideaway right in the heart of town. Steps from the house were restaurants and stores. But the house was hidden away with a beautiful view of the ocean where you can hear the waves while sleeping. The house had everything we needed while traveling with a small child. Stacey was great and responsive and we canât wait to return.
The cottage was amazing and worked great for our party of 7. Key things that I enjoyed:
- Morning view out the 2nd floor living room
- Short walk to the beach
- Hidden and quiet cottage but in the middle of the townâs day/night life
- Parking/security of coming in and out of the property
- Cottage had everything we needed for the week stay
- Enough space for everyone
- AC units for those hot days
- Nearby groceries store
- Washer and Dryer within the cottage
Highly recommended!
The property was great! It was well put together and the accessibility to the town was so convenient. The property was clean and all we needed was there. We had a great time and were very impressed. The inside of the Cottage was a little dated but was very clean and cozy. The only thing we had an issue with was the the propane bbq was not very good. It should be upgraded to a better one. Other than that it was great!!
Exceptional! Such a lovely home in heart of Paia. The location of this property is perfect ~ Walking distance of shops, beaches and restaurants while tucked away in a peaceful ocean front setting. The home was clean, very well equipped and the kitchen had everything we needed. Property management was phenomenal and made sure our stay was an incredible experience. We had beautiful ocean front views from the master and downstairs bedrooms. We loved returning from hiking and exploring all day to relax on the lanai and lower deck for the sunset. There were 6 of us in the home and we had space to spread out and enjoy our time together. I highly recommend this property and would stay here again in the future.
Milo cottage was absolutely wonderful and perfect for our group. My husband and I and our infant stayed in the downstairs and another couple stayed upstairs. It was the perfect set up to have both shared and private space when needed. The property is beautiful and we loved being steps from the town of Paia and a short drive to Makawao. This has by far been our best experience with a property management company as well. Stacy was incredibly responsive, accommodating and even helped intercept a package on my behalf due to an urgent work need! We were so sad to leave and during our last few days in Lahaina we kept reminiscing about Milo cottage. Canât recommend enough!
Fabulous Family Gathering at Milo Cottage on Maui!
Our family gathered at Milo Cottage for a week over Thanksgiving to celebrate our son's marriage to his fiancee. Seven family members stayed at Milo Cottage, and we hosted our son's fiancee's family for Thanksgiving dinner.
We had an absolutely fabulous time. Milo cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. It was in a perfect location in the small town of Paia with a gorgeous waterfront view. The home itself was clean, spacious, and well-equipped. The floor plan (including the two porches) was perfect for our needs. The constant sound of the ocean was awesome. It was truly hard to leave!
Communicating with Stacy, the property manager, about our plans and needs (including extra parking on Thanksgiving) was easy. Stacy was gracious and helpful from the time we made our first arrangements to stay at Milo Cottage through checkout. Early on in our stay, I briefly met the property owner. He was warm and welcoming, and I wish my husband had had a chance to chat with him a bit.
I HIGHLY recommend Milo Cottage!
Paia is an awesome little town, and this house is right there in the middle of it. So easy to walk to interesting shops, the Trader-Joes-on-steroids grocery store, and good restaurants. The house is on the ocean and, in the winter season at least, has lots of waves and surfers to watch, as well as birds and butterflies visiting the yard. The house is not luxurious, but utilitarian, which is all we needed. We used all four bedrooms and found the beds to be comfy and the air conditioning to be nice and strong. Plenty of ceiling fans helped keep us cool too. Only complaint is we could not figure out how to use the ice maker in the fridge upstairs, so we just used the supplied ice cube trays.
Regarding the listing: It was not clear how the house is laid out. There are two levels, each of which has a living room, dining area, kitchen, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. They are connected by an open stairway inside, so they are not two independent units. Which was fine, but a few more pictures might have helped. Also, the TVs in the photos are OLD; the actual TVs are newer.
The place and location are awesome ! My Sons, their significant others and granddaughters loved it ! It was their first visit to Maui, and what a great first trip for them ! I visit Maui every year and have never stood in Paia, visited but never stood ..... the House was great !
... I must bring to your attention though, it was not spotless when we arrived ... the upstairs coffee maker was so dirty, there was lint in the dryer and the washer door was filthy, I was schocked considering what we paid ... I am not one to complain, but I must also bring to your attention, when the next guests barged in on us as we were preparing to leave at 9:35a.m. that was totally inappropriate and rude ... our checkout time was 10:00 a.m., they had no right to be there until check in at 3 p.m. and they thought nothing of it ! They just went around us as if we were not there, no apologies, nothing ... filling the refrigerator with food as if we were not present... That was just straight out rude and inappropriate! I get it, they were excited about being there for a wedding , that still doesnât make their intrusion on us right. Thatâs a shame, Iâm not sure Iâd rent the same spot again ... it was perfect for the seven of us too !

Perfect location, house clean but a bit disappointing
After a two week stay here I can say the location is by far the best thing about it. Itâs right in the middle of town, on the ocean, and walkable to many shops and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked (one on the main level and one upstairs). There were plenty of bath towel and beach towels, but we were pretty upset there was not a single beach item in the house (beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys, cooler, etc.). Communicating with the property manager was fairly easy and they did provide two of the things we asked for - a laundry basket (the W/D inside werenât working so we were using the one outside and thought it was very strange that there wasnât a basket), and a fan for the loft upstairsâŠthis was an extra sleeping area with a mattress in the floor that was quite hot as there wasnât AC up there. However when we asked about any beach items (chairs, umbrella, cooler, boogie boards) they said they would check but didnât provide anything so we had to go to Costco and purchase every item ourselves. Weâve stayed in numerous beach houses and never been in one that didnât have a single beach item. We also were a bit disappointed that there werenât any curtains in the living spaces as there were two beach bungalows in very close proximity to the house which didnât allow for much privacy. The beds were also extremely uncomfortable which was also unexpected with the price of this rental. Overall, the location was great but we wouldnât stay here again.
Great location you can walk to everything in town, great food. Awesome views and sounds from the surf. House was a great fit for our needs and the loft space was a perk.
This is a really great house and location on Maui. The house is as advertised. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The grounds were really good. We could watch sea turtles playing in the waves every day. Mike, the property manager, was very responsive with the few minor issues we had. He stopped by several times to see how things were going. Chris, the cleaning manager, was always available to get us things like kleenex when we needed it. The house is large enough for at least 3 couples to be able to get together as well as get some privacy if needed. The beach equipment was great (towels and even a cooler with ice packs). We loved the house and the property. The location is perfect with lots of shops and great restaurants within walking distance in Paia. Overall, it is a spectacular property.
A beautiful spot on the north coast of Maui in Paia. Well-appointed house (they even had tupperware for leftovers and a rice cooker, not things you always find) in a beautiful location. We really enjoyed our vacation!
This property was great for two families traveling together. There was ample space for us each to have a separate space, but all be together too. Great views from both the upstairs and downstairs facing the ocean. We loved listening to the waves and seeing the turtles in Paia Bay. Location was excellent and we loved being in the center of Paia. We had a wonderful stay.
You can't beat the view and privacy that this property offers. With four bedrooms and two kitchens, proximity to downtown Paia, proximity to the beach, this property is a great value. The property manager, Stacy, was super responsive and helpful leading up to and during our stay. Thank you for a memorable stay!
We loved our stay at the Milo house! As soon as we arrived the view took our breath away and we continued to enjoy it for sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing throughout our week at the house. Everything in the home was comfortable and well-suited for cooking and hanging out as a family, but we were also a few steps away from all the shops and restaurants of Paia, and a short walk away from a beautiful beach for swimming. Stacy and the other caretakers of the property were very friendly and easy to communicate with.
The location was nice and close to shops and restaurants. The view from the deck was awesome. We needed a roasting pan and the manager bought one the next day. The only suggestion is that the owner could supply some basic spices for cooking. We cooked all our meals and had to purchase everything we needed. Prices at the Safeway and Walmart by the airport were better than the local market in town. We had a great time exploring Maui using Milo as our base and place to relax watching the waves and surfers after a long day.
Family of 12. Rented the big house and one cottage. Right on the ocean and landscaping was beautiful. Beach out front of property was rocky, but nice sandy beach with waves 2 houses over. The property manager, Stacey, was always available to help with questions. Highly recommend this property. We will return.
The Milo Cottage was the perfect for our group of four 50-something men who sought to avoid the crowds in places like Lahaina and Kihei. The four-bedroom and two-bath house is located in a private gated compound on the water. Believe me, the views and seclusion will not disappoint! While the main commercial thoroughfare of Hana Highway is literally behind the house, most of the urban noise (except for the occasional garbage trucks in the early morning!) is drowned out by the sound of the nearby ocean. The upper balcony. lower deck, and additional living room/kitchen offered alternative private retreats within the house. The main kitchen was appropriately stocked, so we could easily several meals during our nine-night stay. We made good use of the gas grill on the lower deck. There is a good coffeehouse (the modern "Better Things") and an excellent grocery store on Baldwin Ave. Decent stores aimed at tourists are also within walking distance. Paia Beach may be accessed by a short walk down Hana Highway, but we generally climbed to the seawall and carefully waded through a slippery tidepool via our the private oceanfront in the back. You can't swim behind the house, but you can admire the many swimming giant turtles in that area. The nearby beaches in Paia are never crowded, so we found ourselves taking a daily dip in the morning and afternoon. The only crowd we encountered at the beach was the drum circle at secret Beach one Friday night. Anyway, Paia served as a good launching point to Haleakaka, Hana, Iao Valley, Lahaina, and so on. It is much cooler in Paia in the summer than much if the rest of the island due to the tradewinds. We all really enjoyed the stay at the Milo Cottage and hope to be back in the near future.

We went to Maui on our honeymoon and fell in love with the island. We lovingly built the home in Kihei on the south side and lived there off and on for 15 years while working. Now that we are retired we live on the north shore in Paia, next door to the rental cottages. We love sharing the tropical beauty and ambiance of Maui with others.
Why you should book one of these pieces of paradise? The views are incredible, on both sides of the island. Maui has been named the best island in the world several times by Condeâ Nast. You will enjoy your privacy, while being able to walk to nearby shops and restaurants.
