Very clean and quiet, neighborhood pool access was a bonus. Beds were comfortable and everything was super organized and labeled for convenience. Loved staying this close to Destin but away from the crazy beach traffic near the resorts.

Temp Housing Solution

We were having some work done on our house and needed a place to stay close by. This property worked out great for us and was well stocked (kitchen area), very comfy beds and nice balcony to take in the outdoors we were missing that from our own home setting. Very nice upstairs bedroom area with plenty of storage.

Overall very nice Condo except for the TVs. Unit was in very good condition, clean, and very well stocked… but the TV’s were so small and cheap, they were about useless. Very nice balcony with great views of the pond was a plus.

Good for the price

The neighborhood was safe. We never saw any unshady characters. Parking was great, especially for florida. Plenty of shaded spots. The condo itself provided everything we needed - washer and dryer, dishwasher, dishwasher pods, dish soap, etc. It was perfect for a small family stay for a few nights. My biggest complaint is that we had roaches in the dishwasher (I'm a native Floridian, so it wasn't surprising). There was also a distinctive pee smell in the carpet near the windows on the main floor.

Could use a few things…

The sofa bed was bent at the bottom, but was ok for youngest kid. Did see some mouse droppings in kitchen and master bath. Killed a huge cockroach. All those things said, overall it was good enough. The oven overhead light went out. The washer and dryer were just okay and they only left us a few pods, which was not enough for our stay due to washing towels from beach etc. also both tubs drain crappy when trying to shower

Response from owner: "Thank you for your feedback. We have never had a pest control problem since 1989 so we will monitor that. If you contacted us about the drains during your stay we would have sent someone to fix the problem. We have since cleared them. The washer and dryer are small apartment-sized units and definitely not heavy-duty machines! Thanks again for staying with us."

My birthday getaway

The property overall was good but I was very upset when I arrived there were nasty towels in the bathroom and nasty sheets on the floor. The king bed had no linen on it and I called to report it but I was on hold for over 20 minutes. I finally left a message and received a call back stating the cleaning people were behind. They finally came and cleaned after 7pm and check in time was 4pm. This was very disappointing and the only downfall with the property.

Needs a little work. Security, updating and pest control.

We arrived and were a bit surprised that this unit was NOT a lower level unit since that's what we had searched for. There IS a bedroom on the main level but the main level is up two flights of stairs, we had to make alternate arrangements for one of our party for the week because she's handicapped. The unit was clean when we checked in. Towels were delivered to the unit at 5/530pm and weren't dry, so I guess the cleaning crew was running late. We put the towels in the dryer but it can only dry a couple articles of clothing at a time so it took quite a while and was not very efficient. There was some confusion on check in date and we were able to access the unit the day before our actual check in, which for security reasons was scary for us since there was someone staying there and we could just walk in. The kitchen light kept going in and out, not sure if it was burning out? The mgt co. needs to follow up with pest control, there was a very large bug, looked like a roach of some sort, on the ceiling. We also had someone show up in the middle of the week to view the unit. We called and the contact person informed us that the unit was not on the market and that they must have had the wrong address. The unit is dated and carpets need to be cleaned, lots of stains. The gentleman that we had to call for issues was very easy to reach and explained the reservation issue. The pools were not crowded and there are 3 to choose from. The kitchen was stocked with any dishes that you should need for the week. Beds were ok. Sleeper sofa for kids only, very thin mattress, not very comfortable for teenager.

We take the accuracy of our listings seriously - it's one of our 4 Core Property Standards! - and we will always note which properties are ADA-compliant so that travelers can be positive that it will suit their needs before they book. We also include detailed photos of the condo that show that stairs are necessary to access the upper level of this unit. We understand that you arrived one full day earlier than your reservation, and we are glad that the homeowner was still able to accommodate you on such short notice. You can see from past guest feedback that cleanliness concerns have never been an issue at this property, and while the condo does use pest control, seeing a single bug indoors is not uncommon in Florida. The owner apologizes that there was some trouble with the dryer during your stay, and they have already had it serviced and the problem resolved. They are also sorry that something with the wrong address asked about the unit, but of course, that is outside of the control of the owner and we don't expect that it will happen again. We are looking forward to helping the owner continue to provide 5-star experiences at their vacation rental, and we wish you all the best in your future travels. Best, the Evolve Team

Nice place and location. King bed wasn’t to comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. It was cozy and relaxing. Could use a better cleaning (ceiling fan dust, crumbs in cushions) We didn’t use the pool. Love the skylight room.

Peaceful and Practical

This was our first experience with renting a property rather than booking a hotel and I was so glad we did. The area was perfect and close to everything we needed and wanted. The property itself was comfortable and had all we needed, and then some. I will say that if you traveling with younger children, start calming them down early. We came with a 3 year old and my grandchildren (4 & 7) came for a couple of days. They must have been too rambunctious for the neighbors because they banged on the walls twice. Overall this place was wonderful and we would definitely stay again!

Love the Bluewater community. Condo was as well appointed as any we have ever stayed in. Only two minor complaints; ice maker did not work and there were no ice trays so we bought some, and the TV’s were really small, we don’t watch much TV so not a big deal for us.

Not playing by the rules

Check in was problematic. Electronic door lock worked with assigned code, but the cleaning had locked the door handle and we could not enter the property. Tried the contact phone numbers, only to get voice mail recording. After waiting and trying again, the property manager provided the code to the lock box and we were able to gain access. Once inside the property, we were greeted with cigarette odor and this was listed as non smoking property. I called the property manager again and reported the odor as there was a fine for any violation. The property manager recommended that I contact Evolve to resolve this problem. I told him that was not my responsibility and that after a long day of travel I was tired and recommended he call Evolve. This process started after our 4:00 pm checkin time. We opened windows to ventilate the property and left for a couple of hours. During this time Evolve contacted me and offered to refund my money and allow VRBO find us another property within a reasonable distance. I declined because it was already a long travel day. The property manager sent out his maintenance man the following day to replace the AC filter, which did nothing to improve the odor. I felt that I should at least be compensated, as the property did not meet its description as a non smoking property. Someone, previous occupant of cleaning team smoked in the property. This is the risk I take when I stay at VRBO, sometimes you get what you expect and sometimes you don’t. When you don’t, resolution of the problem is always hit or miss. Overall disappointed!

Carl, the homeowner would like to share the following message: "We're sorry that the cleaning service locked the bottom front door handle by accident. We understand that you drove from far to reach the property but we were in contact with you ten minutes after your voice mail message to provide you with an immediate alternate entry method. When we were informed of the cigarette smoke odor, I immediately contacted the cleaning company who called the individual who cleaned that same afternoon. She reported no smell. I then asked my maintenance person to check in the next morning. He reported no smell but changed the filter anyway. He also said that he had a conversation with you about the lack of cigarette smell. You said that you left the windows open which 'fixed the problem'. Working with Evolve, we went to generous measures to make up for the inconvenience. We regret if we were not able to come to an agreeable solution. We stand by our quality, service, and value." Great stay in Niceville!

We had a wonderful time at 304 Southlake Court. The location was very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and an easy ride to the beach. The 2-story condo was very spacious and clean. We were a family of 5 (3 teenage boys) and had plenty of room. It had a fully stocked kitchen, washer & dryer, spacious family room & huge master bedroom. It had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. We definitely plan on returning.

Peaceful, clean, well equipped.

Great location - away from the Destin madness yet a quick trip across the bridge to get there (tolls each way). 3 pools with no crowds in the resort community. Would definitely stay again.
