Barefoot Beach House is a welcoming three-bedroom, two-bathroom beachfront home perfect for couples, families, or small groups. The large, window-lined living and kitchen area has a fantastic beach park and ocean view out the front, incredible jungle views out the back, and views of the property’s private, natural fishpond.

The historical house has charming detail work, including a brick fireplace, coffered ceilings, and wainscoting. The great room is a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy meals, play games, watch TV, read, work, or simply hang out, all with the stunning backdrop of Richardson Beach Park, the ocean, and the jungle. In front of the fireplace is a vintage furniture set made in Hawaii during the 1940s or 50s, while another modern couch in the TV area is excellent for lounging.

The dining room connects the TV and front room with the kitchen and has a six-person dining set and a large window-seat bench that overlooks the beautiful pond. In the kitchen, there are two stools at the bar, and tucked in the corner of the kitchen is a quaint four-person breakfast nook.

The three bedrooms each have Hawaiian-themed comforters and lovely furniture with lots of storage space for you to fully unload. The two bathrooms are spacious and stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as a hair dryer, a makeup removal station, and some toilet paper. In the linen closet, you will find beach towels, first aid supplies, and extra toiletries.

The lanai is the perfect spot for relaxing, checking out the surf, watching the whales in the winter, and enjoying the sunrise or sunset. On the property, you will find a natural fish pond, various tropical fruit trees, and a nice grassy area for the kids to play on.

The home's driveway can fit up to three cars. It is single-floor living but has five steps up to the front door. Laundry machines with detergent are available. The home also has an array of snorkeling gear and beach toys ready to go.

Step into our amazing Hawaiian retreat in the quaint, sunny area of Richardson Beach, where the ocean views are picturesque, the beachfront is seemingly endless, and the spirit of Aloha is everywhere.

Erinn was raised in the mountains of Northern Utah, is an avid travel reader, and organizes as a hobby. Robert spent his early years in the Bay Area of California and his teenage years in the Sierra Nevada Mountains; he is a mechanical engineer and a huge Jimmy Buffett fan. Together, they are parents to three teenage children. The family first vacationed on the Big Island in 2015 and purchased their home on Kalaniana'ole Street in Hilo a few years later.

Over the years, they have hosted and shared their home with many visiting friends and family members. When the opportunity came up to purchase two nearby licensed vacation homes from another Hilo family, they decided to take the plunge and are now the owners and hosts of the Barefoot Beach House and The Nene Hideaway, both located in the Richardson Beach Park area of Hilo, Hawaii.

Robert & Erinn strive to be thoughtful hosts and work hard to ensure their homes are places others will enjoy and make great memories. They prioritize cleanliness, style, and amenities. They are responsive and available in person if a need arises. And they are excited to welcome you to a home and place they love.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The Barefoot Beach House is located in the Keaukaha area of Hilo across the street from Richardson Beach. Our historic home is located on the oceanfront drive of Kalaniana'ole Street. Kalanaiana'ole has Hawaii-style homes, marvelous beach parks, and endless swimming holes. It is the premier place on the island's east side to go to the beach, swim, snorkel, boogie board, surf, and fish. So, if you want to get a feel of "old Hawaii" and be within walking distance of the beach, this is the place!

The Barefoot Beach House is one of a few properties on the island's eastside with walk-in ocean access right in front of it. Much of the eastside's coastline is lined with cliffs and rugged coastal terrain, which makes finding a true beachfront vacation home a rare find.
