Traveler do your research and read through the reviews of other travelers. Pros- Being right on the water was great and walking distance to restaurants and parks was nice. The coffee food truck two doors away made for a great way to start the day.Downtown Hilo was just a short few minute drive to more shops and farmers market.Beds were comfortable not sure about the 2 downstairs (read comment below)Great Koi pond.Cons-House is 5 bedroom, but 2 of them are below the house. You have to exit the house to go downstairs to the other rooms. If you need to go to the restroom you have to walk back outside and upstairs. We were a family with 6 (3 kids) and needed the extra rooms, but because of the situation of the 2 bedrooms they were to scared to stay down there. (So they slept on the floor)House is on the main road (which we already knew) does bring lots of road noise, but sit on the back patio and enjoy the view. House is older (1930s) and has lots of old charm, but could use some much needed TLC to bring back more of that charm. Words of advice to future travelers. If you are looking for newer updated appliances, beds, furniture, cleanliness this house unfortunately misses the mark. If you are looking for a house with lots of room, great back patio and walking distance to a variety of activities, then this house checks that box.We did enjoy our vacation as our son graduated high school in Hawaii as for the reason of our visit, but unfortunately wouldn't book again.
