À propos de cet hébergement
Sun, Wind, Creek Vintage Camper
Quaint, charming, vintage Layton RV is comfy cozy, with the original character of the pull-behind vacation home on wheels from long ago. Included: a king-size bed, table, kitchen with gas cooktop/oven, microwave, refrigerator.
The campsite is located just above a beautiful running creek. Roast hot dogs, view expansive, star studded sky. Hike our 100 acres of foot hills across the road. Town is 8 miles away.
Rest, Hike and Big Sky, Creek await you.
This is nothing a hotel can offer.
This quaint, charming, vintage Layton RV is comfy cozy, with the original character of the pull-behind vacation home on wheels your grandparents enjoyed! It includes a king-size bed, dining table, kitchen with cooktop and oven, microwave and ample refrigerator space.
The campsite and travel trailer is located just above a small but beautiful running creek. The site has stunning views of the Highland Mountains. The mountains, the sky, and our 100 acres of interesting hiking right across the road makes it a unique property. Located on MT Hwy 2, it is quiet but convenient to the town of Whitehall, 8 miles away, where there is a grocery, an old time breakfast diner (K-Bar) and also for lunch or dinner great Montana burgers, sandwiches, salads, homemade buns, chips, and salad dressings, and full steak dinners at a rustic saloon (Two-Bit Saloon). If you want fresh pizza, with regular and gluten-free crust options, Whitehall has that too. Up the road a half hour are two great higher end restaurants, famous La Hood and Three Forks Brewery.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Sit by the creek, hike to the top of a butte, feel the wind, get great views of the valley and mountain surrounds, or gather your own firewood and sit by a campfire, roast hot dogs and enjoy the flames! Lie back and gaze at the amazing array stars at night. Bask in the quiet and take in that authentic Big Sky experience. This is nothing a hotel in driving distance can offer.
AMENITIES
This camping trailer has been lovingly uplifted to include hot water for quick showers, and an incinerating toilet that is easy to use, with no odor. We use fragrance-free laundry detergent for bed and bath linens and usually dry them in the sun and wind.
Starlink internet service is available if you want to stream or work at the campsite. But who needs the internet? There are books to read and board games games to play. You get to do something different. Rest, dream, start a journal, star gaze. Cook hotdogs on a campfire, walk in the cold creek. Build rock cairns on the edge of the creek. Race little leaf and twig barges in the rapids of the creek and see how far they go before they fall apart!
LIMITED HOT WATER
Please note that because this is a vintage camper, some of the amenities are limited. The hot water in the camper will last about 5.5 minutes before it runs out. This is enough for an enjoyable shower (but isn't going to be luxurious or lavish, in wish case you probably shouldn't book a camper). The water tank then takes about 30 minutes to reheat.
Guests will have privacy and private access to the creek about a minute walk down from the campsite. Bring a rod and reel and you are welcome to snag brook trout for dinner if you can! Many other public fishing spots on the Jefferson river are available within a half hour drive. Other hiking and local sightseeing in Butte and the surrounding mountains.
Lots of peace here so it’s not the place for parties or loud music. It’s a place to listen to yourself and your friend, spouse, or partner and to take time to really talk. If you need help with that the owners are individual or couple’s coaches with ridiculously low rates and forty years of experience. And then, there is simply the gorgeous geography to help you restore grounding and find your priorities so you can return home with insight and perspective.
Note that the owners live in a house nearby and can help in emergencies; otherwise all requests should go through the app and our manager can assist you.
