Stunning 2 bed waterfront apartment on Nice Promenade beside the Radisson Hotel

Spacious 58 m2., two bedroom apartment with superb views over the Med from the balcony, living/dining room and new (2020) American kitchen. Perfect for a romantic getaway, family holiday or a base to explore the Cote d'Azur. It is beside the Radisson Hotel. The view, day and night, is spectacular. Tramway Line 2 runs right behind the apartment- Ste Helene stop. You can hop on at the airport and 15/20 minutes later arrive at the apartment door! The tram runs all the way to the Port with stops in Nice Centre and the Old Town. You may as well be in the town centre, it is so accessible! The beach is across the Promenade and the Radisson private beach with chairs for hire is a short stroll. The apartment has air conditioning throughout (2020) and is 'traversant'' i.e. it has windows front and back so you can keep cool with the Mediterranean breeze. The main bedroom has a double bed and ample wardrobe space. The second has two single beds that can be made into a double.
There is an American kitchen with an oven and dishwasher, dining space for six, a sofa bed/couch and balcony furniture. There is cable TV, fast WiFi, stereo and DVD player. The apartment is strolling distance to the town - the centre is about 15 minutes by tram. There are shops, some great restaurants and cafes nearby. There are car parks nearby as well as on the street.
If you need to work, there is a computer monitor and for those with a baby, there is a travel cot.

Anyone for Golf or Skiing?: Other activities - Skiing or golf? Nice is a perfect base for winter sports and particularly skiing. The resorts of Auron, Isola 2000 and Valberg/Beuil are about an hours drive from the centre of Nice. But why drive when you can take a bus from the Nice to the ski slopes (you can ski during the day and lie on the beach in the afternoon. If golf is your passion, there are many fine golf courses around Nice. There are even two courses dating back to the 19th century - Cannes Mandelieu (1891) and Valescure (1895).

Getting to the apartment: If arriving by plane, take Tram Line 2 as far as the Ste Helene stop. The apartment is immediately opposite the tram stop. Tickets are expensive when purchased at the machines at the airport stop (€10 for a return ticket). Best to take the tram to the next stop after T1, Grand Arenas (free), alight and purchase one reusable ticket per person (€2 each). This can be topped up at the machines or on the Lignes d'Azur app.
Grand Arenas is also the location of the train station, Nice Saint Augustin and the central bus station for long distance buses. The train station is handiest for getting to most locations along the Riviera and is simpler than going to Nice Ville, the main station.
If arriving by train to Nice Ville, take tram Line 1 (direction Hopital Pasteur) as far as Jean Medecin stop and then take tram Line 2 in the direction of the Airport or Cadam as far as the Ste. Helene stop. The apartment building, Copacabana, is opposite the stop.
Arriving by car? There are car parks in the Radisson and also at Les Bosquets, Carras about 750m away,
The apartment has high speed fibre broadband and a monitor for use by guests.
Thinking of shopping? There is a small Carrefour Market about 500 m towards town and a large Carrefour about 1km towards the airport - 2 tram stops, There is also a convenience store about 200m on the city side.
There are two major shopping centres - Nice Etoile in the centre (tram stop Jean Medecin) and Cap 3000 beside the airport (Bus line 12 from beside the Radisson).
Cannes, Antibes, Grasse and Monaco are best accessed by train (Nice Saint Augustin) while such as Paul de Vence is reached by bus from Parc Phoenix (between the apartment and the airport).
Taxis are expensive, while Uber is more reasonable and readily available.

Lovely little find. The apartment is compact but has everything you need. One huge bonus is that both bedrooms and the living room have air conditioning. Communication with both Hugh and Maria was second to none and Maria was so welcoming when we arrived even though it was 9:30pm. Perfect holiday. I highly recommend and will definitely visit again

Amazing Views

Our family stayed here for 2 weeks. The pictures are perfect in detailing the views that you have from the apartment. The apartment is very convenient for public transportation and has many local eating places nearby. The beach access is directly across the Promenade from the apartment. While the apartment is away from the main tourist center / Old town area, it is an easy walk or bus ride to reach these areas. We would recommend the apartment to our friends and family as their location to explore all the towns of the Riviera.

Absolutely fabulous stay

Booking process was very straightforward and stress free. The description was very accurate, truly beautiful apartment in a fantastic location. The views are stunning, we really enjoyed watching the world go by over breakfast on the balcony, and we made great use of the kitchen for preparing picnics on the beach. Thanks to the information book provided we were able to set up a weeks bike rental with the velo bleu, the bikes are located just across the road, and we enjoyed bike trips every day down the promenade and around Nice. We found the apartment very well located for trips to Menton, Cannes and Eze, we only wish we could have stayed for longer. Thoroughly recommended.

Christmas at Hugh's Place Le Copacabana

Excellent location, close to airport,shops, bakery for morning breakfast and restaurants.. Bus station only a few meters from the apartment for those days you wish to travel outside of Nice such as Saint Paul De Vence, Entebes or Canns. Great views from balcony on Promenade de Anglais. We had a great time, staying in Hugh's apartment felt like we were spending the holidays at a friends house as he made sure that all was taken care of before our arrival. If you go to Nice this is the place to stay you won't find a better value and location Value for thee Money. Thanks Hugh for letting us stay at your place, we will for sure stay their again next time we holiday in Nice.. Manny & Dalina

Perfect base to explore the Cote d’Azur

We really enjoyed our stay at Hugh’s property. The view over the turquoise blue sea is fabulous and wonderful to wake up to every morning. The property is a little bit dated but it is very comfortable nonetheless. The Promenade des Anglais is quite a noisy road so don’t expect a quiet time on the balcony (you can also hear the next door neighbour watching TV on his balcony) But it is a great base to explore the area as the transport links are fantastic. It’s only a few tram stops to the centre of Nice one way and a few tram stops to the airport and Nice St Augustin train station the other way. We were able to easily travel to Cannes, Antibes, St Paul de Vence, Monaco and Menton by public transport. There are also several grocery stores and a boulangerie within walking distance of the apartment. Overall a great base to enjoy the Côte d’Azur.

Perfekte Lage direkt an der Promenade

Wir waren als Familie für eine Woche in dieser tollen Ferienwohnung. Die Lage ist perfekt und der Ausblick ein Traum. Der tolle Steinstrand ist direkt vor der Haustür. Der Check-in mit Maria war problemlos und sie hat uns alle offenen Fragen beantwortet. Die Tram und der Bus halten direkt vor der Tür und bringen dich überall hin. Bäcker, Restaurants und Supermärkte sind auch fußläufig zu erreichen

Very functional Flat in a very nice area

Firstly Hugh- the owner- is a real gentleman he is very flexible and helpful At any of my staying in his flat I got problems with Flights and checking in and out but every time Hugh was there to solve those problems Now the Flat is spacious and very functional in a building clean and quiet and residents very polite Plenty of shops and restaurants on your righ or left up to you to choose The most amazing thing the balcony which put you face to face with the sea and to go to the beach just cross the road

Excellent location

Great base from which to explore the city and wider region with public transport Stops (bus and tram) within 100 meters. The new tram line brings you from the airport in 10 minutes and part of the way into town. Due to connect with the port the entire tram route is due to be completed in late 2019. The view from the balcony is great with the sea directly across and the nice skyline fully in view. We found it handy to pop into the radisson a few doors up to enjoy the rooftop bar.

Fabulous NICE

Great location, Easy access to all transport. Nice Old Town a definite to see and explore as is all the other places in close proximity. Close to Monaco, Monte Carlo, Cannes, Ezze and St Paul. Hugh ,the owner very friendly and helpful as was his assistant Maria who helped us with booking in. Enjoyed chilling on the veranda with a glass of wine after a long day exploring all the many surroundings. Would definitely recommend this flat to other.

It has gotten even better with the arrival of the tram and the stop immediately at the back door. Million Dollar View!

This condo has the perfect location. There is a bus stop right outside the door which gets you to Monoco, Cannes and quaint small towns outside of Nice. As well as being not far from the airport. There is a grocery store and coffee/pastry shop quite close as well. The view is fantastic you can't beat the sunrise every morning, and having the sea right across the street is great. The owner and representative in Nice were helpful and easy to deal with. The condo itself was clean and has everything you need with fresh linens and a booklet of instructions/suggestions supplied. The only minor down side would be that it can at times be a little noisy as you are on the Promenade in the front and the tram track in the back. We would highly recommend and would definitely return.

You are correct in stating that there is traffic noise from the Promenade, the nearby hotel charges extra for the privilege of overlooking the Promenade! We think the fabulous views more than compensate. We find the trams relatively quiet and any possible disturbance is outweighed by the sheer accessibility - the stop is at the back door and the tram will have you in the airport or the town centre in 10/15 minutes.

The location will be further improved in December 2018 by the opening of the tram line directly from the airport to our door. Thanks for your kind words Chaich. A lot has changed since your visit last year. The tram is now up and running and with a stop at our door will make getting to and from the airport even easier from mid-December 2018. The trip will allow you to board a tram at the airport and alight about 10 minutes later at Copacabana. From mid-2019, trams will be operational as far the Nice Port, making the Old Town and city centre even more accessible. Inside the apartment, we have had the entire repainted and all bed linen etc. replaced with Egyptian cotton. One thing has not changed and that is the million dollar views! That is perhaps why you are one of a number of guests who return regularly.

Impression of Le Copacabana

Stunning view from the Apartment of the Prom and Med - good place to watch Sunrise and have a drink at evening close. The apartment is fine, just needs some updating- a fresh lick of pain, and new cushions. The location is perfect for Bus's to Cannes, Antibes, St. Paul de Vance, getting into the old Town of Nice. Renting bikes from the Radisson Hotel was our highlight. Location is perfect for early morning swimmers, walkers. This was our second visit. Great holiday.

Thank you Marie-Therese and I am delighted that you are booked in again for next year - your 3rd visit to Copacabana - we must be doing something right. It is a fabulous place to watch the sunrise and the world go by, or just even the beautiful Mediterranean. The Radisson bicycles are a good option but my family prefer the Velo Bleu - the city bikes - it is easy (and cheap) to subscribe for a week or more and there are stations immediately beside the apartment. By the way, the painter arrived one day after you left, we had organised for the end of the season. Thanks again for taking the time to submit a review.

great experience

The apartment completely satisfied our expectations. The location was very convenient and not far from supermarkets and services. It 'could be found parking lots for the car nearby, which is not an easy thing in Nice. Hugh is a very kind and easy person, also when an object in his apartment got broken (because of my son)...he just didn't mind. That was kinf of him. So, if you dream a great vacation in a great place, you can choose this opportunity, free of unpleasant surprises. I can garantee it, for you.

Also, you are correct, we are not concerned about the little breakages, these things happen and shouldn't spoil your visit.

Great appartment

Great apartment, really well located as a base for visiting Nice and sightseeing. The apartment is a nice stroll into town or there are plenty of buses from just outside. Here you can also catch buses to Cannes; Paul de Vence & Antibes. The apartment was clean and well equipped for our stay. The views are amazing - we spent lots of time just watching the world go by on the Promenade. There are shops and restaurants nearby, including Carrefour. There is some noise from traffic but this was more than offset by the views. The whole booking process was easy and we would definitely love to return.

Nice views don't make up for a dirty apartment

Arrived on the date and time agreed upon making the rental. However, the meet and greet contact wasn't there. Phoned him to find out where he was and he told me that he wasn't expecting us. He arrived soon after, let us in and gave us the keys yet it became apparent straight away things were not as anticipated. The apartment was not clean AT all, nor did it come close to being acceptably clean. I text / emailed the owner and the contact in Nice with our concerns who asked what the problem was. They maintained that it had been cleaned, in which case their idea of cleanliness is miles away from what is acceptable. Instead of giving them the opportunity to come and put right we decided in the interests of being able to get on and enjoy our holiday to clean up ourselves. Particularly given we needed to use the facilites that night. You should never have to do that. The toilet hadn't been cleaned, the sink and shower was full of grime, none of the floors had been wiped in goodness knows how long let alone swept, the kitchen was dirty, the washing machine had old wet cloths sat in stagnent water causing a horrendous smell, the doors and walls were full of dirt marks such as a dirty footprint on the bathroom door and head marks on the 2nd bedroom walls, the surfaces hadn't been wiped down. Yes the price was good but you shouldn't have to pay more to get basic cleanliness. That should be free. In terms of where the apartment is and the view then it's great. Lovely view of the seafront, close to the airport and the centre of nice which are easy to get to using the bus services that run behind the apartment. Such a shame then that something as simple as cleanliness should let it down. I always judge a place on whether i'd return to it or recommend to a friend, and in this case it is most definitely a NO. Never.

We very much regret the rare occasion when our guests are not fully satisfied with their stay.This was a very disappointing result, from the viewpoint of both our guests and ourselves. We made every effort to deal with the issues raised in Tim K's review but he was not prepared to accept our efforts. It will be clear to readers of the other reviews that we accept responsibility where it is appropriate to so do. In this instance, we accept responsibility for the fact that key handover was delayed slightly. This was a human error on our part, no excuses. As to the rest of Tim K's comments, I would question our local cleaners, if it hadn't been for the fact that my wife and I cleaned the entire apartment, thoroughly, the day before his party's arrival! We did so to a standard that we expected our local people to follow. During the winter, we have had the apartment redecorated and also appointed a new management company to look after guest arrivals They arrange to have the apartment professionally cleaned before guests arrive and freshly laundered bed linen and towels are supplied. Once a guest agrees a booking, they then are put in direct contact to ensure that hand over is achieved smoothly. They offer either to meet guests at the apartment or, depending on the time of arrival or guest's preference, a key pick up facility is available in Nice Airport. In advance, detailed directions are given. We have many repeat visitors, including guests on their fourth visit who are planning a fifth!

Great view.

We were last week in this lovely apartment.The view from balcony is wonderful and the apartment is well equipped,inclusing airco. We met JP(and his dog);a very helpful man.We visited Monaco,Cannes,Villefranche,Ventimiglia etc.by public transport;the old town by bus nr 9. We can recommend this apartment absolutely!!!

Copacabana Apt

We arrived in Nice and took the no.23 bus from the airport which left us 50 metres from the apartment where we were greeted by the very professional JP who did the meet and great and gave us two sets of keys. We were recommended a local bistro (La Mesculin) that was so good we went back twice in our five day visit. We loved having breakfast on the balcony every morning and enjoyed the magnificent view across the azure blue sea. The apartment is well equipped with every modern convenience, spacious rooms and is spotlessly clean. On the one wet evening we stayed in and made use of the big screen TV. There are plenty of dvd's,books and a fabulous chess set to enjoy also. The apartment is well located for visits to Cannes; Monaco and St Paul de Vence. A visit to Ventigmigilia, just over the border In Italy is recommended on a Friday to visit the ever popular market. I cannot recommend this apartmentt highly enough and look forward to many return visits.

We are a family with 5 children, living in Dublin, Ireland and love spending time in Nice.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We fell in love with Nice and just had to have a place of our own to which we could return again and again. The location is perfect, close to the airport so that we don't spend hours travelling to get to our destination. We sometimes walk! Also, it is so convenient to the centre of Nice, we walk, take the tram and more often than not, take the Velo Bleu - the city bikes with stations all around Nice. We even ventured as far as Cagnes sur Mer on a Velo Bleu! Nice is such a wonderful city. To those who have visited, no explanation is necessary; to those who haven't, get booking now! Even after countless visits, we still have so much left to visit and see.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The moment we saw what a guest described as 'the million-dollar view', we fell in love with this location. We love sitting on the balcony at all times of the day or night and watching the world go by. We head across the road to swim at all times of the day or evening. A particular pleasure is to swim in the evening and then indulge in a picnic by moonlight watching the fishermen and the planes overhead!
The arrival of the Tramway has made the location all the more attractive- it is minutes from the airport and the centre and Nice Harbour. We recently refurbished the apartment to make fully air-conditioned and revamped the American kitchen and added a combi dishwasher/oven.
