À propos de cet hébergement
Family-Friendly Mountain Home with Stunning Blue Ridge Mountain Views.
We're so happy to be hosting again post Hurricane Helene!
This home was NOT damaged by Helene, but our road took a beating. More than 1,000 miles of WNC roads had extensive damage in the storm. NC-9 that leads to our property and our gravel road experienced major landslides. The roads are passable by all types of vehicles, but are still regularly under construction. It may take years for all of the roads to be repaired and we thank you for your grace and patience as we rebuild. #wncstrong
Welcome! We'd love to host you!
This family friendly (and fragrance free!) Modern Cabin features amazing mountain views from nearly every window. Located 5 miles from historic Black Mountain & 15 miles from downtown Asheville. The Modern Cabin is the perfect getaway for those that love solitude and nature, but also want to be close to all the activities of town. We offer two neighboring houses with mountain views - Grand View Cottage and Grand View Cabin.
All are Welcome Here.
All Sizes. All Ages. All Cultures. All Genders. All Beliefs. All Religions. All Colors.
All People. All Are Safe Here
This house is 2 miles up a narrow GRAVEL ROAD. The road is accessible by all types of vehicles including 2WD sedans and minivans, but it’s often a bumpy ride. There are 100+ residents in our neighborhood that drive the road daily, so know that the road is regularly maintained, but if you have reservations about driving on a gravel road with no streetlights, you may be more comfortable staying in a place in town.
If you’re up for the adventure, read on! The view from the house is well worth the bumps!
The 2,100 sq ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath house was recently remodeled (down to the studs) and has all new furnishings. The property has beautiful long range views of the Black Mountains, including Craggy Pinnacle and Mt. Mitchell. The well-stocked Modern Cabin is located in a gravel road neighborhood 5 miles from historic Black Mountain (including Ingles grocery store and interstate 40), and 15 miles from Asheville. It's the perfect getaway for those that love nature, but also want to be close to coffee shops, dining, shopping, and all the activities of town.
The clean, cozy house is flooded with natural light, and features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and gas fireplace.
The fully equipped custom kitchen has everything needed for cooking and entertaining including an electric range & oven, microwave, coffee maker, french press, toaster, blender, crockpot and more. We've stocked the basics such as dish soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, common spices & condiments, sugar, coffee & tea.
The house has two living rooms - one on the main floor and one downstairs allowing plenty of space for friends and family to spread out. The upstairs living room is equipped with a 40" smart TV, downstairs has a 50" smart TV.
The large, partially covered wrap around deck off the main living area gives you a front row view of the awe inspiring mountain scenery. The deck is equipped with a gas grill, a table & chairs for 6, 2 Adirondack chairs, a propane fire pit table, and cozy loungers.
The two bathrooms (1 on the main floor, and 1 downstairs) are stocked with towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and basic toiletry items.
The house is heated/cooled with Mitsubishi mini-split units & every room has a ceiling fan. With the elevation of 3,400 ft we highly recommend sleeping with the windows open so you can hear the hum of the katydids and cicadas and feel the refreshing cool mountain breeze. The indoor propane fireplace is operable from Labor Day to Memorial Day (we turn off the gas in the summer months). The outdoor propane firepit is operable year round.
We provide an ample selection of children's books, family games, puzzles, novels, local guidebooks, and hiking & biking trail information.
This is black bear country. Our forest is full of wildlife including deer, coyotes and black bear. Although the bears are not aggressive, and usually run away when they see humans, please use common sense and give bears a safe distance. Do not try to approach them for photographs and please, please, please do not leave out food, or garbage, and DO NOT LEAVE FOOD IN YOUR VEHICLE OR THE BEARS WILL BREAK INTO YOUR CAR! Place all trash in locked shed. We hope you enjoy our wild neighbors!
