We had a wonderful week at the Boathouse! The house is spacious, clean, and well stocked with everything you'd need. The adults enjoyed the peace and quiet and drinking morning coffee on the patio overlooking the harbor and the kids loved the chess board and adventuring and rock scrambling around the island. We would love to come back and stay again!

Stunning views from nestled in the quiet marina. The house was well appointed above the usual. Kayaking around the harbor was a plus and changes with the tides so would recommend both high and low. Walking to Thurston's for lobster is perfect any evening.

Excellent place on a harbor. Beautiful view at sunrise and sunset. Jack, our host was amazing. Due to some extreme weather, he altered our arrival and departure time to not only meet our needs but to keep us safe. The place is very clean, bedding is high quality and it’s fun to watch the fishermen leave each morning. The house is also in a great spot to get to whatever activity you choose to partake in from visiting Acadia, going into Bar Harbor for a whale watching excursion or to just find a great restaurant with excellent seafood. If I return to this beautiful area I will be making a reservation with Jack again.

Charming and pristeen

Our stay at the boathouse was an awesome way to visit Maine for the first time. The property is beautifully decorated, pristine, has all the amenities we needed, and Jack checked with us via VRBO email to make sure we had everything we needed.

Beautiful view, very well decorated property inside and out. House was perfect with plenty of room for our family of six. Incredible views especially the early morning sunrise. Enjoyed kayaking around the harbor and Thurston’s is a short 5 minute walk away. The host Jack Raymond was extremely accommodating and helpful. Responded to us within minutes. Perfect family vacation house.

What a fantastic place. The place is more spacious than the pictures. We brought our two grown daughters with their spouses and had a great time. The place is very clean and the kitchen is well equiped. The view is wonderful. Kayaking in Bass Harbor was excellent. Communication was on point! Thank you for the experience!

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and well kept. It had everything you needed far more than any other VRBO we have stayed in. Jack and his staff were helpful and friendly. Highly recommended. We didn't want to leave. Thank you for an enjoyable family trip.

Clean, comfortable home with access to Acadia and much more

The boathouse is a unique home close to so many fun sites such as Acadia, Northeast Harbor, Southwest Harbor, and of course Bar Harbor. It's the perfect home base for a couple or a family. You are close to many restaurants and shops...and of course lobster pounds. An opportunity to see a real working harbor where there's always something interesting to watch...and at the same time, peaceful and quiet. Can't wait to go back!

Quintessential Maine - a beautiful boathouse on the water!

We loved our stay at the Boathouse. The host, Jack, was in constant communication and super helpful. The house is beautifully decorated with thoughtful art and nautical pieces that represent the beauty of Maine. The beds were SOOO comfortable, and the entire property sparkling clean and fully stocked with everything we could possibly need! From the moment we arrived and saw the most magnificent Aurora Borealis from the deck, to watching amazing sunrises every morning as the lobstermen went off to work. Truly a gem and a wonderful experience. Will definitely be back!

The boathouse is a great space on a gorgeous Maine harbor. Our group of 6 fit perfectly in the space and really enjoyed the foggy mornings overlooking the water, as well as sitting on the porch at dusk watching the birds in the harbor.Jack was a great host and super informative on things to do in the area. I would highly recommend this property.

We’re a family of four. Stayed here for a week and had a great time. Close enough to easily get into Acadia and Bar harbor, but nice to come back to peace and quiet. House was spacious and the views from every window/balcony were perfect. The dock is huge and most of the time you’re the only one on it. Our host Jack was a very nice person, always just a call/text away to answer any questions and was in communication prior to and after our departure. I would recommend staying here :)

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at Up Harbor Marine! We had plenty of space, amenities, and Jack was very responsive to any questions we had before, during, and after our stay. We really loved the property and location, still close enough to Bar Harbor and surrounding areas, yet so peaceful and quiet to come back to at the end of our busy hiking days/exploring. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the dock while watching the fishing boats enter and exit the harbor with lobster cages for delivery. Jack recommended some other areas to visit that we didn't initially have on our list, so if you do get a chance to visit The Asitcou and Thuya Gardens, you will not be disappointed! We would definitely stay here again!
