This cottage is so charming, clean and has a fantastic location. Colleen was quick to respond to any questions I had. This is tops on my list of properties and I've stayed at many. The house has everything you need and the kitchen has everything you will need to have a stress free stay without running to the grocery store constantly. The location could not be better. We walked
Dragonfly Cottage was clean, well decorated, had an abundance of supplies and a convenient location. It was a short drive to Acadia National Park, and walking distance to shops, restaurants and the marina. It was the perfect place to stay!
Beautiful and comfortable...the perfect place to stay to experience Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The location was great. A short drive to hike the Park during the day and walking distance to shopping and dinner in the evening.
We had an amazing time staying at this house. It was well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay! Within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and the off street parking was great to have. Would definitely recommend!
The most charming cottage in a fabulous location! We loved our stay here! The home was beautifully decorated, super clean had very comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen and a wonderful floor plan. Our family of five adults were very comfortable here and look forward to returning in the future!
Dragonfly cottage was the perfect spot to explore Bar Harbor while offering perfect drivable distance to Acadia and the other charming MDI harbors. Walking to every bar harbor stop was close and easy, while enjoying down time in the cottage was comfortable and enjoyable!
First of all, if you are looking for a lovely house within walking distance of Bar Harbor down town, take a good look at the Dragonfly. It was clean, well appointed and very comfortable.
We had a fabulous week in Dragonfly Cottage! It's furnished beautifully and stocked really well, so we had everything we needed. The location is perfect too - tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but close enough to walk to all the shops and restaurants. We did some fantastic hikes, rented ebikes, and kayaked which was all on our doorstep. We would definitely recommend the cottage and would love to return one day!
Wonderful home, clean and well appointed, had everything we needed and then some! Walking distance to shopping and restaurants, excellent home base to see beautiful Acadia. We would happily replay this trip! Colleen was the best!
We stayed at the Dragonfly Cottage in Bar Harbor. It was a lovely home with everything we needed, and it was conveniently located so that we could walk to everything in town, and Acadia National Park was a quick drive. Loved it! Would definitely stay there again!
Iâm not one to write reviews, but I was compelled to after our stay here. Immaculate, cozy cottage in the perfect location, within walking distance of the quaint shops, delicious restaurants, and town green of beautiful Bar Harbor. Our family loved this place! Entire house was beautifully redecorated and neatly stocked with everything you could possibly need, including board games and books. Highly recommend.
Property was amazing, equipped with anything, and everything you could need, little details to make the stay easier. Wish it had a view of the water as I would rent for a month in the fall. Communication was excellent, warnings about potential ice on steps and driveway. Just great.
Amazing trip to Bar Harbor. House was wonderful - only things not listed were that there is a tenant living in the basement , and the A/Cs were not installed yet as it was early in the season. However extra fans were dropped off working hours of contacting the host. The house is VERY cleane and the CUTE. Could not ask for a better location - literally just a few minutes walk to bakeries, coffee shops, the market and downtown. Highly recommend and would come back again!
This is a wonderful and charming cottage in an incredible location. The cottage had everything our family needed for our summer adventure - close to all the hikes we wanted to do in Acadia, walking distance to the town and harbor, with all the fun shopping and dining (like ice cream every day!) we could possibly desire, and a quiet place to retreat to and relax after a day of all the above. The charming sleeping porch off the main bedroom was a nice addition. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. (And we loved the new house paint color!)
Our family of four (including a pre-teen and an elementary-age kid) had a wonderful stay at Dragonfly Cottage for a week in April. We have been to Mount Desert Island several times and appreciated this cottage's location to Acadia. It was also a short walk to restaurants and shops in Bar Harbor. The cottage itself was very thoughtfully renovated, warm, clean, and equipped with linens and kitchen supplies. We cooked most of our meals at the cottage for the week and found all the essentials in the kitchen, supplemented with produce from the natural foods store and grocery store nearby (maybe five minutes away by foot). The two screened in porch areas and gas fireplace were also comfortable and cozy! We had a great stay and an awesome week and look forward to returning to this cottage soon!
Our family of five came to Bar Harbor for a college graduation trip. We were early in the season, so the weather was hit or miss and a number of shops and restaurants were closed. Fortunately, this lovely home provided the perfect spot to spend time together reading, playing games, puzzling, etc. When the weather was nice, it was an easy walk to town or the grocery store. Acadia isnât a far drive so we took several trips there as well. The kitchen was nicely stocked. Loved having tea on hand during the chilly rainy days. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathrooms, but that was an easy fix. If the listing mentions thereâs a tenant who lives in the basement apartment, I missed it. Other than causing us to try to laugh quieter and not be the typically loud people were are, it wasnât an issue at all. Overall, it was a lovely home and a great base for our trip. Thank you!
We live in Massachusetts with our three children and have been visiting Mount Desert Island for 25 years. Rob and I first visited MDI in 1996 and immediately fell in love with Acadia. We started out camping at the Seawall campground before we had our children and then as our family grew we began renting various cabins/homes on the quiet side of the island. In 2017 we found a beautiful, old home on Bass Harbor and purchased it to use as a vacation and rental property until hopefully one day we will retire there (that property is Apple Cove, listing number 4812310). We have so enjoyed having that home on the quiet side that when the opportunity to purchase this beautifully renovated cottage right in Bar Harbor came up we could not say no. Two of our children are now in college with the youngest in high school and they all consider MDI their happy place. Our family has spent many of our best times enjoying Bar Harbor and Acadia and we love having the opportunity to share our homes and our love for the area with other families.
The location of Dragonfly Cottage is perfect for getting the most out of all that Bar Harbor has to offer with only a short walk to the water, the shore path, and all the shops and restaurants. The house is situated on a very quiet side street with minimal one way traffic and provides a quiet, tranquil home base for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia. A quarter mile walk will take you to the sand bar across to Bar Island. A quarter mile in the other direction puts you right on the Village Green. Shopping, coffee, cocktails, fine dining, casual dining, lobster, breakfast, boat tours, the Shore Path, history, amazing views and Acadia National Park are all in the backyard of this beautifully renovated, inviting cottage. And the cottage itself is a wonderful, comfortable retreat with beautiful space for relaxing and spending time together.
