Cette maison historique située dans le centre du village de Bass Harbor, sur l’île du Mont Désert, propose des cottages authentiques à une fraction du prix de Bar Harbor. La maison a une maison principale, Harbour View Cottage (cette liste), et une maison arrière, Bass Harbor Hideaway (https: // www. Vrbo.com/351747), disponibles pour les locations d’été.

Harbour View Cottage surplombe Bass Harbor, une marina pittoresque remplie de bateaux pour le homard. Le cottage offre une vue sur le port depuis sa pelouse et son salon, y compris les spectaculaires couchers de soleil sur le Maine.

Had a great stay in Bass Harbor. The house is in a great location and has plenty of space. My young kids loved it especially the attic! Recommend it if you want to stay somewhere with a true small town feel. The owner was super helpful and very responsive to messages. High marks!

A beautiful location and view with plenty space. It's an older property with rustic interior and appliances but the location, charm and view are great!!! Easy to get to the park and around the island. Have stayed twice and would return!

Family memories

We came from CA, MO, and NE to visit a tavern that has the same name as my late husband, Peter Trout. We wanted to experience the harbor areas, and the Atlantic was right at the end of the driveway. Bass Harbor, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Cadillac Mountain sunrise, and Southwest Harbor were all close and shopped thru. Quaint cafe's and unique eateries filled us with fabulous seafood.

Bass Harbor Home

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Bass Harbor home. The home was able to accommodate 8 adults nicely. While we mostly spent our time in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, we did enjoy a nice dinner in the surrounding area and especially enjoyed an early morning walk to Bass Harbor Lighthouse for the sunrise.

Charming house in Bass Harbor

This year’s family trip was to Acadia. We found a lovely house that accommodated 5 of us in the tiny town of Bass Harbor. Local fish restaurant is directly across the street. Other amenities, grocery store, are located in Southwest Harbor just 10 minutes away and Acadia is about a 30 minute drive to Visitor Center. House is very comfortable, clean, quiet, and kitchen is well stocked. We had a great time.

Wonderful Home and Location

We so enjoyed our stay. We loved the quiet location of the house and the wonderful lawn in evening time looking out to the harbor. The house was great. We actually only had 7 people and there was plenty of room. The house had everything we needed. The very special aspect was that Bobbie provided recommendations of what to do and see. It was so helpful and we followed up on the recommendations daily. Thanks for the lovely stay.

A great home in a beautiful place

We loved our vacation in this wonderful, spacious home. It has everything you could need and Bass Harbor and Bernard were fun areas to explore more thoroughly. Awesome house for a group!

This home was the perfect stay! As a large group of friends traveling there was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to cook and then some! Plenty of linens and beds were comfy. The area around the house was quiet and felt like we were locals. Easy drive to Acadia NP and Bar harbor. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends and family looking to visit the area!

Amazing place

My group of 6 friends stayed for a long weekend. The location is amazing right on the water. Bobbie was very communicative. The kitchen is nicely stocked. A small note for larger groups — there are 2 showers and the hot water seemed to run out after 3 people showered, so keep that in mind for scheduling. Overall would recommend 10/10

lovely home in a beautiful, quiet setting close to Acadia

The house was a great place for a family with teenagers to stay on a vacation to Acadia. Everyone had their own space and we could eat together and play games together in the evening. The drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor is easy. The Bass Harbor Light was walkable (to avoid the parking hassles) and Southwest Harbor is a super cute town with some quaint restaurants and shops only a 5 min drive away. My teen boys especially liked that we were close to the Southwest Harbor Community fitness center that had very reasonable day rates.

Our first trip to Maine!

Our first trip to Maine to visit Bar Harbor and Arcadia. We found this place in Bass Harbor to be the perfect value for the size house we needed. There was a bed for every person! The drive to Arcadia and Bar Harbor wasn’t too bad and the Bass Harbor lighthouse is just up the road from this house! The sunset views from the harbor were fantastic. The house is charming and quaint and everything you would want from a New England cottage! Bobbie was super accommodating and friendly and excellent to work with. Wonderful memories were made here! Highly recommend!

Wonderful family reunion getaway

Really enjoyed our stay at Bobbie's place near acadia. House is roomy, comfortable, well equipped. Check in and logistics were seamless. The bed were comfortable, kitchen well equipped and Bobbie was very accommodating. Pretty view out the front and nice restaurants near by and in southwest harbor. Only negative was we did a fair amount of driving back and forth to the main park area but we knew the location of course in advance - good to think about your logistics in advance.

Spacious and comfortable with view of water

Exceptionally well equipped comfy and cozy yet spacious home. Beds were great, and there were 8 singles and one king, great layout. 2.5 baths with a bathroom on all 3 levels. Airy sun room, plenty of parking. We felt at home the moment we walked in. Games and cable tv, everything in tip top shape (no missing pieces or remotes!) even found chargers and extra batteries in the desk! All-in-all a great place to stay.

My family has been coming to Mount Desert Island (MDI) since 1991. We love the character of Bass Harbor village--the slower pace of life here, the sound of the bell buoys on the water, and the unique beauty and history of MDI. There really is no place in the world like it!

As my parents have gotten older, the next generation has stepped in to manage our summer vacation home for visitors. Our goal for each of you is to allow you to experience the simple beauty of the island and to fall in love with it, just as we have.

Our house is divided by an interior wall into two separate homes: Harbor View Cottage in the front (this listing) and Bass Harbor Hideaway in the back (vrbo #351747). Harbor View Cottage is larger, more updated, and offers a picturesque view of Bass Harbor from the living room bay window. Bass Harbor Hideaway is less updated, more rustic, and offers a great value for this prime island location.

Bass Harbor is an active fishing village with a mix of vacationers and year-round residents. We love that our side of the island---known as the 'Quiet Side'---is not busy or commercial, but has held onto the original character of the area. Stay with us and you'll discover a true sense of the beauty and slower pace of coastal Maine (away from the tour buses and traffic).

Because our home is right across the street from the harbor, visitors enjoy cool sea breezes and the sounds of bell buoys and fog horns--all things you'd miss with rentals that aren't at the water's edge.

Harbor View Cottage overlooks an active, lobster-fishing harbor, with photo-worthy sunsets right outside the door. Step back in time as the fog rolls in, imagining the area's nautical history, which includes the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse and surrounding seafaring community. The Cottage is also walking distance to the Seafood Ketch restaurant.
