Whether its weekends with a good book, fresh outdoor air, or the unlimited possibilities for water sports and activities at the state maintained double boat ramp, Sunset Harbor and our beloved intercoastal will win your heart. Bring your boat or kayaks to store under the covered outdoor space with the community dock about 1 mile away or enjoy our cornhole, air hockey, and yard dice games on-site. Sleeps up to 7 adults with 2 queen, 1 full, and 1 twin bed plus additional crib rentals available from our local BabyQuip rep. Please note, Full laundry and 2nd bath are located in outside utility building. There is a 1 dog limit, with nonrefundable pet fee. Falsification of this policy will result in forfeiture of deposit and/ or damages in full.

Weekend getaway

We stayed here from Thursday until Sunday. Very nice house. Had everything we needed for the stay. Host is excellent. Responded quickly and very nice. I would stay here again.

A great day

Our host went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible! We had an amazing day at a nearby beach with plenty of clean up areas when we returned to the rental. We would book again if we returned to the area :)

Nothing like the pictures

This place was listed as having 2 bathrooms, there was only 1 and the house had cockroaches everywhere. There was no hot water and the place was in a sketchy trailer park. We had to keep all food in refrigerator bc of the bugs. This was the worst place I've ever stayed.

2024 vacation

Owner is quick to respond. Quick to get things taken care of. Only downside to the place is only 1 tv and no wifi. Made it hard for the days we stayed in to enjoy the house. Beds were comfortable. Shower pressure in the house is awesome! Overall we enjoyed our time there.

Home away from home

If you are looking for a home away from home, a place to sleep at the end of the day, this is the house. You have all the conveniences of home that allow you to be flexible with your active schedule. The neighborhood is quiet and you are able to walk to public locations that will allow you to view a pretty sunrise or sunset. The only down was the lack of WiFi BUT it's lovely to disconnect. Our family of four was happy with our stay!

Very thoughtful Hostess...

We very much enjoyed our stay at the house. From the outside the house appeared to be small. But, once we were inside the house we were surprised to see that the house was layed out very well. There was more room than we thought. Any issues that arose were addressed by the Hostess very quickly. Could not have asked for more.

Host was nice. We enjoyed our stay. Only thing negative I'd say is that I wasn't aware of the second bathroom not being in the home, but in the shed. The guys didn't seem to care. It was a nice get away to unplug and enjoy the beach for the weekend. We did visit the pier down the road, but unfortunately our schedule didn't allow us to see the gorgeous sunrise or sunset on the water.

I did note that where free-form text is allowed in the listing including the amenities and bathroom sections. I will continue to strive to improve the listing and property. Great little cottage house.

This little cottage house was perfect for our weekend fishing trip. The owner (Amy) stayed in contact with us until we left and was always available if we needed her. The cottage just felt like a home away from home as soon as we walked in. The couches, the beds, the shower water pressure...everything was great! Quite, peaceful little neighborhood. Fishing access literally right down the street. Gas station right around the corner. It's a little bit of a drive to get to a grocery store and restaurants but that was not an issue for us. Just wanted others who may see this are aware but I can tell you...next trip, I will be contacting Amy again! We absolutely enjoyed our stay! We fished most of the time we were there but having a place to shower, eat dinner and sleep was what we were looking for and this place met all of our needs and wants! If you are just looking for a place to stay so you can go enjoy the sand and surf or to go get on the water and fish....this place is it!! Also, at the boat dock, there's a strip where you can fish off the bank, a pier...everyone is so nice. Again, this place just feels like a home away from home!!

Second bathroom was in a shed along with the washer and dryer. I wasnt able to get the washer to work, didn't try thr dryer. One bed was a piece of plywood rigged up on a bed fram that it didn't fit properly and a mattress on it. Very low to the floor and couldn't sit on the edges due to lact of support. Shower in the bathroom in the house kept causing water to puddle on the floor outside of tub causing us to use more towels to clean it up. Everytime we flushed the toilet or run water down a drain it would gurgle in all the other drains. Ice maker on fridge didn't work. A/C worked well in the house. Was very clean.

I know why the price was good

It was not clean. No hot water. No wifi. When we pulled up the yard was so over grown it was not useable. When we got inside one room had a dead roach and the floor had not been vacuumed it was very dirty and we ended up vacuuming it. Everything had a layer of grunge on it. All the plates and cups in the kitchen were greasy and a few had dead bugs in them. The microwave had mold in the inside and the coffee pot was moldy because it still had a full pot of coffee from the last guests. At one point I wiped water off the floor and the paper towel came away totally brown. The shower wouldn't get hot, the warmest we got it was on the cold side of luke warm but mostly felt straight from the south pole. The shower also has a window without a curtain where multple neighboring windows have full view of the inside of the shower. The shower didn't drain and I felt like wearing shoes in it because it did not feel or look clean. There isn't central cooling just a bunch of window units which did keep it cold-ish but also very humid and the air smelled moldy. We couldn't find the washer and dryer. The TV barely worked with bad reception. I would not rec staying here if you like basic comfort.Some good points on the house is that it does have 3 queen and a twin bed which was perfect for 6 people. The beds were comfy and the sheets were soft. Plenty of towels were provided. The living room had plenty of seating. It was convenient to get to Oak Island beach.
