If I could give this sweet place more than 5 stars I would. I canât say enough about how wonderful the hosts were. Every comfort needed was provided. We loved our stay!!!
Very cute little place on a quiet street, perfect for a couple or family of 3. There were lots of snacks provided and everything needed for your morning (and afternoon)coffee fix. Bryan and Marti were very nice and quick to respond to any questions. Would definitely stay there again!!
Took our 2 boys for end of school weekend trip. Everything mentioned in the listing is completely accurate. The host communicates very well and answers all your questions. The apartment was super clean, small but just what we needed for the 4 of us for a weekend. Just blocks away from the beach. We would definitely go back!!
From the moment we booked to the sad departure from Oak Island the process with Bryan was enjoyable and efficient. The host did a wonderful job of communicating with us in advance.A really nice getaway trip at a great location. Clean, cute apartment location in a quiet location. With easy (7 minutes max) access to beach and a pleasant neighborhood to enjoy evening walks in (with nearby public dock with bench seating to watch ICW small boat traffic) this is a great location.Highly recommend the hosts and location and would definitely stay again !
From check in to check out, everything was perfect. The hospitality of the owners was nothing short of top notch. The property was clean, well stocked and everything we needed for our short getaway. If youâre looking for a short getaway as a couple, Iâd highly recommend this property for your next trip.
If ur looking for a nice cozy and quiet spot for just a few people. This is the place to be. The place was in perfect condition when I checked in. Super clean and nice and cool inside the paradox palace (itâs hot in July) communication with the owners was simple and easy. I would definately recommend the paradox to anyone interested in staying in the oak island area. I know it will be my go to spot when I am in the area. Thank you for a beautiful place to
stay. Sincerely Dan
Bryan and Marti are superb hosts! The home was perfect. Location was amazing. Quiet neighborhood and close to all the beaches. Everything was spotless. The bed was extremely comfortable. They had extra snacks, variety of coffee, appliances to cook anything, beach items to take along for the day, and cold water in the fridge. I would definitely stay here again!!!
We had a wonderful stay and we're so pleased with everything about the property! It was perfect for my husband and I and our two year old! The owners and super kind and respond quickly to any questions! The apartment was incredibly neat and we will definitely be staying again!

Your hosts hail from a suburb of Boston and an eastern North Carolina farm. Fate brought them together. The apartment was originally home offices, as both work from home. It is called Paradox Place because both husband and wife earned their doctorate degrees at NC State University. So we are a "Pair 'o Doc's."
Paradox Place is in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful view of the Intra-Coastal Waterway. You can sit outside and hear the waves crash on the beach a few hundred yards away. But to visit the beach requires a 4-5 minute car ride, as Davis Canal and marshes separate Paradox from the sand.
