The house was very clean and spacious. Amy was very responsive to my requests and flexible with some specific requests I had. The location was perfect for traveling to my events in Oak Bluffs and around the island.
Although the house is a bit rustic, it was very comfortable and addressed all of our needs. The owner was very responsive when needed to be contacted. I would definitely rent this house again.
the home was comfy for us and was everything we needed the only down fall was the water when showering was only luke warm. great location and we wish the weather was nicer so we could have used the back deck!!!!!
I would rate this house a 3.5 out of 5, since there are no half stars I rounded up to a 4.
Although this was not my first pick for a house on Martha's Vineyard, this house is very affordable for a trip to the island. My friends and I spent most of our time outdoors exploring the island and stayed indoors during the evenings to relax. The house is between two towns and close to a few bus stops for traveling. Kitchen comes equipped with cooking instruments, utensils, plates, and cups so we were able to cook a few meals. The family room is a very comfortable setting that fits many people, has a large TV, and table to play board games on. I took off one and a half stars only because the bedrooms and beds are small and we had a bug problem one of the nights. But for the price you're paying it is reasonable.
I looked for a house that could hold me, my cousin, her immediate family of 4 and a couple of other close friends and this house fit the bill. It is noted as Oak Bluffs but really it is East Falmouth. While there were enough bedrooms each one is small and they are tightly packed together on the second floor. That turned out to be good because there was a bad odor coming from the family room on the first floor. I couldn't comfortably sit in there at all. We lost hot water after two people showered on the first day, but luckily the owner got a plumber over quickly and it was fixed. Smoke alarm started to beep and light went out in bathroom during stay as well. Overall my big complaint is that although the home is clearly managed by sons in a relatively big family, money for the simplest new things or repairs hasn't been spent. Everything is at least 30 years old, with the exception of the refrigerator which seemed close to 20 years old. It made the stay clunky and everyone felt a little dirty, even with clean sheets and towels from the service provider on the island. Backyard does not get great light and no comfy seating. As we all decided, I would say the house is fine. But for the price we paid for a week I think they could spend a little money to make it much more comfortable for their guests.
Ted was excellent with communicating with us, the house was comfortable and has a nice large family room that is a good separate space for kids to hang out. The neighborhood is nice, the short walk to the lagoon is a definite bonus. The only issue we had is the furniture is aging and could be updated. The dining room furniture in particular and the beds could be updated. But those things were pretty insignificant and are reflected in the fair price for a 4br home on the island. We had a great week and the location was very convenient.
My family and i had a great time on vacation and the house was terrific. It was very clean and had Everything that we needed to cook and support the family. I really enjoyed my stay
Ted was a pleasure to rent from. The house had more than enough room for our blended family of 7. Very functional. Thoroughly enjoyed this rental and planning to rent from Ted again!
Home is spacious both inside and out. Location is close to plenty of attractions. This was a return stay as we enjoyed the property previously as well.
Large house, central location - great for families
The house was spacious for 2 families of 4 (kids age range 9-17). The location is right between OB and VH so easy to either - although we preferred VH as itâs less crowded. We brought 2 cars and there was parking for both. Large family room to watch movies or play games. Large grill for cooking dinner for everyone. Great backyard to play bocce or washer toss (we brought). Ted was a great host - checked in to make sure e Ruth it was ok and was available via phone/text for questions. I would look forward to staying here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Looking forward to coming back next year! The kids really enjoyed the quiet street and the sunset at the lagoon nearby.
We enjoyed our stay at The Anchor Inn. There is plenty of room for a family of four to spread out. Itâs a quick walk to a quaint spot on the lagoon and a quick drive to many great activities on the island. We ate many meals on the deck and took full advantage of the outdoor shower.
Ted is very responsive and easy to work with. I highly recommend The Anchor Inn.
Our large party had plenty of space to hang out and the location canât be beat! The neighborhood was great for the kids to ride bikes and use chalk in the street and the layout of the home was comfortable for kids, teens, and adults alike. Ted checked in with us a couple times during the week which was thoughtful and caring. We had no issues with the process or the property; exactly as listed and expected. We will definitely consider the Anchor Inn for our future visits!
Ted is an incredible host. He provides all the information you need and responds within minutes. I went with my family of 6 and we loved stying here. The house is super spacious and really close to town. I would recommend staying here.
Great family vacation in August 2019 at this OB Home. .
We stayed in this home in August 2019 with our little family of 6. There is plenty of room with 4 air conditioned bedrooms upstairs.
Enjoyed the outdoor deck area and being able to wash off with outdoor shower after a day at the beach. The homeâs location is centrally located to OBâs main attractions as well as vineyard haven and Edgartown, not to mention seeing the susnset in the lagoon near the house.
Owners are great to work with, quick responding to any questions we had.
We enjoyed our stay. Good indoor and outdoor spaces.

Comfortable, large home convenient to Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven
Our group of painters stayed at this very nice home right near the Lagoon in Oak Bluffs. There are 4 comfortable bedrooms with really comfy beds, a full bath upstairs and downstairs, a large, very well equipped kitchen, large dining table, wonderful living room with tv and fireplace, and a big family room adjacent. Also a big back porch and outdoor shower. It's in a residential area, so it's quiet in the evenings, yet very close to both Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven downtowns.
The house was immaculate and fully equipped. It had EVERYTHING we needed to prepare our group breakfasts and evening critique sessions. For linens and towels we used Martha's Linens and we were very happy with the fresh white sheets and fluffy towels. Convenient and easy to arrange.
The host, Ted, was so helpful, responsive and pleasant. Really couldn't ask for more. It had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to rent this house again! Thanks Ted!
The house had everything we needed. The owners are great. I got a courtesy call to be sure all went smoothly upon arrival and to just give a call if there was anything we needed. Our group had a great time, the location was perfect for our trip.
Our Family had a very enjoyable stay at the Anchor Inn. The home was very spacious, quiet, clean and provided our family with everything we needed while visiting the Island. The location was very accessible to Vineyard Haven and Oaks Bluff. We would definitely book a vacation stay at this Home again!!
