Beachside Cottage sur Lopaus point

Retour Beach Cottage se trouve directement sur les rives sablonneuses de Lopaus Point. La plage privée est un endroit idéal pour bronzer, un pique-nique, ou prendre un bain rafraîchissant dans la Océan Atlantique. Explorez la côte sauvage et de bassins de marée ou de prendre une courte promenade de la jetée locale de homard pour le déjeuner ou le dîner.

Retour Beach Cottage propose deux chambres, une avec un lit queen et l'autre avec lits superposés. Le chalet est entièrement meublé et équipé avec literie, serviettes, laveuse / sécheuse, et une cuisine complète ainsi que d'une salle de bains avec douche stand-up. Pour ajouter de la chaleur supplémentaire sur une nuit fraîche d'été ou automne, un poêle à bois Vermont Castings et radiateur électrique sont fournis. Dans le salon, portes coulissantes en verre ouvrent sur un pont complet qui offre une vue spectaculaire sur la plage ainsi que d'un excellent endroit pour socialiser ou d'un barbecue.

gorgeous location, cozy home

We've been coming to MDI for about 20 years, and this was our favorite location yet. The setting could not have been more beautiful. What a treat to be able to walk right out the door and be on the shore! The week we came was mostly cold and rainy, but we didn't even care, as we had such a cozy place to stay. The kitchen was spacious and well-stocked, which made it easy to eat meals at the cottage. Everything was even better than we'd expected from the pictures. Rusty was friendly and available. We can't wait to come back.

Bass Harbor Sunrise

This waterfront cottage is perfectly situated to enjoy morning sunrises over Bass Harbor. The cottage is in a great location to explore Acadia from the quiet side.

Great Place!!

This was our second stay at Beachside and it was just as great as our first! The location is amazing and the house has everything you need. Rusty, the owner, is very friendly and easy to contact if you need anything. A great “home base” but also just a great place to spend a day at as well. Looking forward to staying again!

Perfect side of Maine

Cozy, and close to what mattered to us... Best of the best for hiking, lobster and just chilling! And we did plenty of all three every day! The perfect host, perfect location and perfect vacation!

Comfy House, Gorgeous Location

Rusty's place is a clean, simple, home in an amazing location. A great base for exploring Acadia, but we also really loved just sitting on the deck and watching the tides, birds, and boats. Bedrooms and bath are definitely small, but living room and kitchen are very comfortable.

Great location

Our family of 4 loved our stay at Beachside Cottage. The location was convenient for nearby hiking and it was about a 35 minute drive to Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park. We watched the sunrise from the screened in porch and sunset viewing was only a short walk away. A great experience overall.

Perfect Maine Home

We had a wonderful month-long stay. The setting is always spectacular, the home had everything we needed and the host was always nearby happy to help. Having a walking beach right outside your door was a treat. Highly recommended for those looking for a quiet place with a view.

The home was rustic but clean, and Rusty was helpful. The main thing is the views from deck, porch, and living room were absolutely amazing. Quiet and beautiful. Great vacation.

Amazing Location!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here- highly recommended for a couple or a small family. Waking up to the sunrise over the ocean everyday was amazing! It was great to stay on the “quiet side”. This place has everything you need and the hosts are friendly, helpful, and also give you your privacy. We made wonderful memories here and look forward to a future stay

Lovely Place to Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Back Beach. The two of us have stayed there many times. The house itself was great. The view of the water was gorgeous. It was great to relax on a lawn chair or on the beach. Also, the location was perfect- down a country road, just a short ride to Southwest Harbor and to Acadia national Park.

We Always Enjoy Our Stay at the Back Beach

The Back Beach is one of our favorite vacation spots. It is right on the water. The view is beautiful. It is great to use its beach. It is near a number of excellent hikes. We also enjoy just sitting in the chairs on the expansive lawn, and relaxing as we take in the beauty of the area.

Heaven on earth

I have stayed here many times. It’s my happy place in Maine. Right on the water with plenty of privacy. Beautiful, pristine and secluded. The hosts Rusty and Lynn live nearby and couldn’t be better. Make you feel like family. ❤️❤️❤️

The location was nice. The house was as described. We were optimistic, but the bunk beds were not quite right for our ageing bodies... Beautiful property, nice beach. Too bad we were rushed out by a hurricane!!!

Wonderful Back Beach cottage

We loved our stay. It was perfect. Rusty and Lynne are great hostess. Anything and everything you need is in the cottage. We especially enjoyed the tranquility of sitting down by the beach every night. Location is great. We will be back. Would highly recommend this cottage. You will not be disappointed.

AAAhhhmazing!

Beautiful and quiet location yet close (30 min. to Acadia)! Hosts were 5 star! House and grounds well maintained. Best part was being just steps from the water. Watching the sun come up right from the deck or screened in porch, catching the tide rolling in/out and seeing various wildlife. Walking along the water any time with plenty to explore both on site and in the quaint surrounding towns. We've never wanted to return to a VRBO until this gem! THANK YOU for sharing your lovely cottage!

Fantastic view directly on Bass Harbor! Quiet setting! Easy to get anywhere on MDI!

It was great! Yes the 2 bedrooms and the bath are small but very clean and comfortable. The cottage had everything needed to cook (made use of the lobster pot!), tv (which we did not even turn on), books, games, great binococulars , all that is needed for a rainy or other bad weather day! Interested in tide pooling? Do it right outside your door! The property is well maintained.

Spectacular view!

We recently stayed at this rental cottage, and overall, it was a good, memorable experience. Pros: - The most outstanding feature of this cottage is the spectacular ocean view. Simply lovely! - The host was quick to address a minor issue we encountered, specifically a slow-draining sink. Cons: - In the main bedroom, the bed takes up most of the space, making it challenging to move around. - The shower is quite tight, which might be uncomfortable for some guests. Good-to-knows: - The address listed in VRBO is incorrect as of Sept 2023. I wish the host had told us this before we arrived in the dark. You should confirm in advance. - For those seeking absolute tranquility and privacy, it's worth noting that the cottage is close to a dirt public access lane, public beach, and small cemetery. So this means you are likely to hear and see people nearby who are not the hosts. - There is no hot tub/spa whirlpool. As of Sept 2023, I believe these are listed in the amenities.

Peaceful & Restorative Getaway

Rusty and Lynne's charming cottage is set on a quintessential Maine beach--sandy in parts, rocky in others, and the clearest ocean water you'll see in New England. The beach is perfect for scrambling over rocks and investigating tidal pools at low tide, and I would highly recommend a swim at high tide. I braved the cold temps in May, and it was absolutely invigorating! If you're looking to be close to Acadia National Park but away from the crowds, Bass Harbor is the place to be. It's exceptionally quiet but we enjoyed easy trips to Acadia, including Schoodic Point, which is a must-see. The cottage itself was perfect for our needs. A large kitchen that leads into a living room space with a comfortable couch and excellent views of the water. The bedrooms are very small, as is the bathroom, but the beds are comfortable and we were treated to a lilac bush in bloom just on the other side of the bedroom window. Highlights of the cottage were the cleanliness and, of course, the view, which you can take in from the screened porch or the deck, which has two large, comfortable chairs. It's been a month since we had the chance to stay at the Back Beach cottage, and I still think about it every day. I don't often stay in the same rental place again (always fun to try new areas), but this cottage and the location were so fantastic that I will absolutely be back.
