Spruce Shore Cottage est situé sur une falaise isolée surplombant Goose Cove, du côté ouest du mont. Desert Island, à quelques minutes du parc national Acadia. Le chalet comprend tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour être à l'aise. West Tremont se trouve à 9 km de Southwest Harbor, une ville avec d'excellents magasins et plusieurs restaurants raffinés dans tous les prix.

ANIMAUX DE COMPAGNIE: Les chiens sont les bienvenus s'ils sont traités aux puces. Nous demandons que les chiens ne soient jamais laissés attachés dehors et que vous fouilliez si nécessaire. Il y a 65 $. Supplément de 00 (par semaine) pour les chiens invités. La propriété est chien amical. Si vous avez des gardiennes de meubles, veuillez apporter un lancer.

Serene and cozy!

Perfect stay on the Quiet Side! Cabin was so quiet and cozy, and the views are incredible. For anyone with an EV - there is an outdoor outlet right by the parking area, which was super convenient for some overnight slow charging. Thank you for the great week on MDI!

Lovely View

Property has magnificent view of the bay and is a great location for someone with dogs. Cottage is clean, overlooks the bay from a screened in porch, and provides all the basics needed. Bed is comfortable and access to Acadia and Mount Desert is excellent. Check in was easy and the hosts were very accessible and helpful.

Comfy cottage with spectacular setting

The cottage is cozy and just as presented in the online description. From the first moment we walked into the main room and took in the panorama of sea and sky we were enthralled. We enjoyed having meals on the screen porch overlooking the water, and quiet evenings by the woodstove, for which there was an ample supply of wood. Local walks around the cove were fun, we saw herons, osprey and one eagle! While the cottage is on the "quiet side," we found nice places to walk and eat nearby. Seafood Ketch was very nice for a birthday dinner. We would come back again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful view!

We had a lovely time. It was quiet, peaceful and had a beautiful view of Goose Cove. Our dog loved it too; he felt right at home. We were comfortable and enjoyed the breeze off the ocean. The screened porch was wonderful! Thank you for a great stay!

Lovely cottage

The cottage has everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. There is a beautiful view of the cove and access to it at high tide is just down a short path and slope from the backyard. Hiking, biking, and all Acadia National Park has to offer is just a short drive away. We had a great stay and the weather was perfect during the last week of September.

Heavenly Retreat

The cottage was perfect for my husband and me! And the view is spectacular!! The location on the "quiet side" is excellent, close to everything except the chaos. The hosts are very responsive, but we didn't need a thing. They provided great suggestions on activities and places to eat. It was a perfect retreat!

Nice cottage w/great view

Easy check, in since we arrived much later than we had planned. The cottage was very clean and had great windows and natural bright lighting. Enjoyed the screened in porch for dinner. Plenty of kitchen cookware supplies and nice location to access Acadia and other Mt. Desert activities without the crowds! We brought our two dogs do the extra space to roam and play (for kids & dogs) was a bonus!! Would recommend this to friends and family,

Cozy Seaclusion

My friends and I had a relaxing retreat at Weslea and Chris' cozy cottage. The water views were stunning any time of day, especially around dawn and dusk. We took advantage of the wood burning stove throughout our stay, as well as the aux cord and the provided games. Acadia was a quick 20 to 30 minute car ride depending on the trail head. Despite it being April, many restaurants, antique stores and other touristy haunts were still open on the weekend. Overall, we'd definitely recommend staying here (truthfully we want to gatekeep it and keep it all to ourselves) as it's truly magical.

Comfortable, clean cabin with great views

This is a rustic cabin inside and out, but with all that's needed for comfort, and spotlessly clean -- not a speck of dust anywhere, new sponges and towels in the kitchen (something we care about). Having two bathrooms was very handy for a family with kids. All beds are comfortable (including the futon) and the bedding is new. The kitchen counter is small, but there is a dinner table that extends big. The view of the water from the back is hard to beat, and all windows have great views. We stayed in early April and found that this was the perfect time for hiking in Acadia -- no heat, no bugs, no crowds, and parking available anywhere. The trails had some residual snow and the lakes were half-icy, which was great. Many roads were closed (seasonal repair) so some driving around was necessary, but we managed to get to all the trails we wanted. And we've hiked up the Cadillac mountain pretty much all alone. The big supermarket is in Bar Harbor on the other side of the island, about half-hour drive, but we were frequently on that side anyway. This was a great stay.

Treasured Memories

Our week at Spruce Shore Cottage was just short of magical. Our party included my husband and myself and our 13 and 11 year old children. Although the path to the beach was very steep, it was passable. My shell loving daughter loved searching for treasure on the shore in low tide and wading (or swimming) in high tide. My son enjoyed flying his drone and caught gorgeous pictures of wildlife and sunsets. I enjoyed just taking in the view and the quiet serenity of Goose Cove. The pictures hardly do it justice. We found the accessibility to South Harbor convenient for grocery shopping and restaurants and enjoyed exploring the “Quiet Side” of the island. I would highly recommend hiking up Beech Mtn. The views were amazing! The house was not luxurious, but functional overall. We did move the table in between the kitchen and living room so we could sit 4 for game nights and dinner. It was also very practical to use for extra counter space. We also brought our Apple TV so we could catch some of the Olympics at night and we didn’t have any problems with the internet. We did want to point out that the recommended cove access points were either overgrown or posted as private no trespassing, so the only option was the steep path. Minor inconveniences aside, our stay left us with family memories we will treasure forever, rejuvenated spirits…and lots of shells.

Comfortable Water View Cottage

Second time we have stayed at this property. Remains a great location with a beautiful water view. Very dog friendly, and the cottage was clean and cozy. Wood is supplied in abundance for the stove which adds to the comfort especially in cooler weather.

Beautiful Private Spot

Light-filled cabin in secluded spot with gorgeous water view. Clean and comfortable with excellent provisions for cooking and activities. Kitchen area is small (as shown) but has everything you need for simple meal prep. The woodstove was an added bonus on some chilly nights. Backup heat also works well. An idyllic, quiet getaway.

Relaxing cottage, wonderful views

We had an incredible stay at Spruce Shore. Weslea and Curtis were considerate and welcoming hosts, the cottage had everything we needed for our week stay. The views of the cove were seriously serene at any time of day. We had great views of the full moon at night, and when it’s not full, I’m sure the stargazing is top notch. The wood stove (along with the other heaters) kept the cottage toasty and cozy when it was bordering on chilly. Access to the water was a plus - it felt like we had our own little slice of private shoreline to sit and bask in the quiet peace of the tide rolling in. We had easy trips to and from Bar Harbor and the east side of MDI for the busier parts of Acadia, and there was much to do on the quiet side - canoeing Long Pond, the Seal Cove Auto Museum, restaurants in Southwest Harbor, hiking Beech Mountain, Wonderland and Ship Harbor trails. The only downside of our stay is that it was not long enough! I think we could stay here forever (perhaps aside from long winters)! Thanks again, Weslea and Curtis.

Wonderful Location

Property’s view was exactly as advertised, and all of us spent time simply watching and enjoying. Cottage was interesting, clean and very well stocked. Beds were comfortable, and the lovely wood stove with ample firewood provided was a real bonus on chilly evenings. Enjoyed our stay!

My husband Curtis and I are transplanted NYers. He had been a part-time resident since the early '60's and I became one in the 70's. After owning a small antique business and working for Summer Festival of Art many summers, we moved here full time in 1999. I'm a poet and musician; Curtis is a photographer dedicated to film.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

An iconic spot at the end of Goose Cove. One of the most beautiful, gentle, welcoming views on MDI. We are privileged to own it and delighted to share it. Originally owned by the summer librarian of our small village, the property neighbored ours. It was given to the Nature Conservancy to sell and we purchased it with a promise to them and our neighbor to live there and love it, and not to "develop" it.
