Beautifully renovated cabin located on Roan Mountain with a view from the balcony & second bedroom. Able to sleep 4 adults with two queen beds and two full bathrooms or 6 people utilizing the pull out sofa. One bathroom is private, attached to the master, and the other has dual entrance with the second bedroom and the hallway. The second bedroom however has the best view of the mountain out the large sliding doors which leads out onto the balcony. The kitchen is fully outfitted with everything you would need to cook whenever you don't feel like going to the base of the mountain to the multiple local restaurants. A cozy sunken living room has the pull out couch to accommodate more family members. We've outfitted the living room with a tv, DVD player, a small collection of movies, and some family games. Though we donât have cable, the DVD player allows you to stream from your Netflix or Amazon account. Down the stairs is the den where you will find the washer and dryer with allergy friendly detergent. The stairs has a retractable baby gate at the top (please use caution still as there is a small gap). You can access the fire pit easiest from downstairs. S'mores fan? It's a great place to relax with the family in the evening and still have a great view of the landscape. Be sure to check out the windows during your stay. We've seen a little fawn resting in the grass, as well as goats grazing, a chipmunk, and many birds darting around the trees. The cabin is my favorite place to relax with a good book, or tell days gone by stories with my family. At the top of the mountain you'll find the Appalachian trail and the renowned Rhododendron Gardens (best in bloom the month of June) or Beech Mountain for some skiing and sledding. Along the mountain are many trails and a historic homestead. Roan Mountain is located within about 30 minutes of Elizabethton, Johnson City and on the border of North Carolina's Elk Park. There's a little something for everyone in the family. Antiquing, city night life, hiking, skiing, and exploring the great outdoors, or relaxing indoors and out at the cabin. I think this part of Tennessee will become a favorite vacation spot year after year for you and your family.
My husband and I picked the perfect place to spend our 60th wedding anniversary! This home was beautifully decorated and up to date. The deck was our favorite place to enjoy meals. The location was a good choice - not too far from the top of Roan Mountain, but close enough to get get to Highland Barbeque!
Mountain sanctuary - 11 mins drive to Carver's Gap
Everything we needed and so convenient to hikes on Roan Mountain, day trips to Boone and so much more! Well stocked kitchen; the whole cabin felt like a brand new build and was just as described and pictured. Morning coffee on the deck enjoying a full stmphony of birds was amazing.
This cabin was exactly as described. It was clean and VERY nicely stocked. The property was easy to find and had easy access. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the owners for sharing their home.
This property is beautiful! The views are amazing and the property is meticulously maintained. Communicating with Nicolette was easy and she was very respponsive. The cabin is nicely outfitted with everything that you need. I highly reccommend booking this wondeful cabin.
Cute cabin with nice views ina quiet location. If you want to get away from the noise of the city this is the place. If you need to work remote then internet is fast and we had trouble with two people on video calls at the same tme
You will not be disappointed with this property. The location is awesome. The price is very reasonable. The property is clean. Super comfortable beds. I have nothing negative to say about this place at all. 10 out of 10. Would definitely stay again.
This is a lovely and beautifully equipped cottage in an area of great natural beauty. Wonderful hiking, especially when the azaleas and rhododendrons are in bloom.
Cabin was nicely decorated and located next to many gorgeous hiking trails. It does not have A/C. Also, it did have a power outage for 4 1/2 hours while we were there so we lost wifi, water and power. Fortunately, the owners made an adjustment to our fee to compensate us.
Location, location, location! This cabin is located on Roan Mountain exactly halfway between Carver's gap and round Mountain State Park. Multiple options for hiking, exploring, shopping and just visiting this neighborhood. 30 minutes to North Carolina to a quiet community called Bakersville with plenty of shopping and artistic flare. I cannot recommend this place enough, the cabin itself is stunning and is as beautiful and well equipped as the description suggests. We would absolutely recommend staying here and we will be returning!!
The place looked like the pictures, which is huge because sometimes the pictures look a lot better than the real thing, but this wasn't the case. It was very nice! I really enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the mornings...yes it was a little cool but nothing that a blanket couldn't handle! We cooked most of our meals there and there was plenty of cookware to do what we needed to do. We even had a campfire one night taking advantage of the cool mountain air before heading back to hot Florida!
We chose this cabin because it was close to Bristol but also in a quiet location that felt very out of town. Lovely cabin and comfortable for my husband and 2 of our children.
Everything was great. The beds were not very comfortable but that was the only negative. I appreciate the extras like having the kitchen fully stocked with tools and having extra towels and blankets. Perfect location for hiking on Roan Mountain.
This property has a beautiful view. The owner was fast with all responseâs. The cabin was super clean. Beds were very comfortable. We even had snow and was able to play in the yard.
The house is great with amazing views, the location is perfect if you like outdoor activities and being away from it all. Roan Mountain State park is around the corner and so is Cherokee National Forrest. Great trails whitin minutes. Beautfull river to walk along. Only 45 mins to the ski resorts and other larger towns. Will def be coming back. Such a beautiful area.
