We thoroughly enjoyed the location. It was perfect for our explorations of the city and most destinations were walkable! Public transport nearby via bus stations. We did opt for a taxi to the airport on our departure using the FreeNow app. The only âdownsideâ is that if noise bothers you this may not be ideal. The apartment is on the 3rd floor (no elevator) and is above several restaurants at street level. In the morning the restaurants dump their glass bottles out for recycling at 7-8am which is loud! Additionally in the evenings the street is popular with music and laughter echoing in the air. The night we left a trumpet was playing for the crowds at 10 pm (not a bother to us other than our 4 am alarm- but may be a problem for families with younger children). There is a clothes washer and a drying rack.
Had a great stay here, fabulous location right near Piazza Navona. Surrounded by great restaurants and shops and convenient to many of the best sites in Rome.
Only negative was the mattress in the master was not very good. Other than that no complaints
This property is perfectly located and surrounded by fantastic restaurants, gelato and a great Irish Pub. Piazza Navona is 2 minutes. A taxi stand is a one minute walk and Campo di fiori is a 5 minute walk.
Check-in process was flawless.
The pictures are accurate and the property was clean.
Because this property is literally on top of restaurants expect some street noise. Wearing earplugs while sleeping was an easy solution.
Ill definitely try to stay here when visiting Rome again.
Nice place, great location. However, it wasnât very clean, floors were filthy, not sure when kitchen last wiped thoroughly down. Washing machine broken. Furniture and beds definitely had lots of wear since time pictures taken. Some of flooring needed repair. Place needs a little more TLC!
This property was the only negative of our entire trip to Italy. Location is amazing, a quick walk to every major site in Rome. The street was vibrant and alive. The property itself offers very poor sleeping conditions with old and rock hard mattresses. The bigger issue is the water leak that occurs whenever the upstairs neighbor showers. The leak runs through exposed electrical sockets and soaks the glazed tile flooring. Electrical shock and falling hazards. The leak has clearly been occurring for a very long time causing the apartments to smell like mildew and mold. We had to hold our breath when entering the bathroom area. We tried to contact the host, ZERO rely or regard for this issue. Do not stay here!
The location of the property was perfect. The apartment was clean, the owners communicated with us and even let us drop our luggage early. The second bedroom did not have an ac unit just a fan. With the heat situation, that bedroom was just too stifling and too hot to sleep in. Given we were there during the Cerberus heat wave with temps >100, I think that is the only reason why it was so stifling. Otherwise this apartment was perfect in every way. Yes we did have 60 steps to climb but you do so much walking in Rome, even someone who is out of shape (myself) can make it. If needed, just take a breather. We had everything we needed right outside the building - restaurants, cafes, gelato, taxi stands, and we were centrally located for everything -which was the most important thing for us. We did not cook in the apartment so I cannot leave any comments on that.
The only reason I gave 4 stars to accuracy of apartment was the sleeping situation. However, as I stated, it was record breaking heat for Rome so I am not going to make that affect the overall rating. We did make it work for us by sleeping in the living room where the ac unit was. Iâm sure in normal temps this would not have been a concern.
A good property in an excellent location at the heart of Rome. Easy walking distance to many major attractions or a short taxi ride if too hot!
Property is ideal for a family but be warned there is no lift so you have 60 stairs to negotiate. Property is air conditioned and has a small kitchen with washing machine.
Would use again.
The good thing about this property is the location . However, it is very poorly kept.
Location is very good. However, the place was very poorly kept and was dirty. It seems like the owners are not willing invest the place at all.
It is a shame because the place has good potential.
The location could not have been better! If you are looking for sleek Euro-modern this is not the place for you. HOWEVER if you want an authentic old-world Roman experience you will love this apartment. This place reminds me of the Rome I knew at a student 50 years ago - slightly shabby and wonderfully romantic - complete with high wood beamed ceilings, Piranesi prints on the walls, Glass paneled doors and painted cabinets. This place was perfect for our multi-generational, (Grandparent, Parents and Grand-kids) family trip. We had a 10 day stay and truly felt like we were living in the Eternal City. Museums, markets, historic churches, multiple restaurants and fabulous Piazza Navona are literally steps from the door. The kitchen is fully equipped tho we only used the micro wave and oven to re-heat last nights pizza for breakfast. Bathroom is adequate with older fixtures - to be expected - BUT plenty of HOT WATER. The trade off for living like a Roman in the heart of the city is that it is noisy. It was noisy 50 years ago. I used to be awakened at 4am by the noise of the market being set up. Today you will be staying above a busy restaurant/nightlife street. Finally, a comment for ALL travellers. Come to Rome ready to walk and able to climb flights of stairs. LOTS of stairs. The city is built on 7 hills! EVERY museum and site includes flights of stairs. Come in shape and the 60 stairs from the street to the apartment door will not be a problem. Every step will be worth it
With Piazza Navona only a two minute walk, the Pantheon a few minutes after that, and then Trevi Fountain as well as a 10-15 minute walk to the Vatican and more, it's an amazing location. We cook at rentals and the kitchen had what we needed. The master bedroom was pretty quiet and comfortable with plenty of space. The bathroom was large and plenty of hot water. The front bedroom and living room (with couches and dining table) were no noisier than any other Italian apartment I've stayed in. There are several restaurants right outside the front door and countless within a five minute walk. There's also a bookstore with English language books right there too. We had two keys which was nice so we could split up during the day. The only negative we had was that the internet is through a phone and is slow and intermittent. Not really sufficient for doing work or doing much streaming. All in all we loved the apartment and would definitely stay there again.
Les points forts : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
Priced well for the location
Large apartment in great location with beds suited well for 2 parents with 2 kids. Previous reviewer was basically accurate, but there is a stove top espresso that makes excellent coffee. A handy man with 1 full day of work could really make a big difference. For us, this apartment worked well, for others it might be a disappointment. Embrace the loudness of Rome and have fun!
Iâve never had a bad experience with VRBO before but this was a very disappointing stay. It started with the peeling paint on the walls in the entry way which would be a sign of the whole stay. The apartment is in a great location for restaurants but is extremely noisy. The street noise is loud in the apartment. If you donât wear earplugs you wonât sleep. Then there is the WiFi - or lack of it. Thereâs a router in the bedroom but the hosts insist you tether to an iphone. And they buy data after you check in and very little of it. After the first day they said we were using too much. Weâre older adults. We donât do games/videos and were out all day so I donât understand who was using the data. By the last day they just cut off data completely. The apartment is not in good condition. I mentioned the peeling paint. The mattress in the main bedroom is lumpy and hard. The towel racks have been removed in the bathroom and the pegs they provide lean down so a towel falls on the floor. Thereâs no shelf for soap or shampoo in the shower so they sit on the floor. Thereâs not even a plug in the bathroom sink. Thereâs one tiny trash can in the kitchen but in Rome you must separate all your trash. They list a coffee maker but they only have an electric teapot. One of the chairs in the living room is broken. They provide only one key and there were three of us who often are out separately. Thereâs an elevator but apparently it doesnât work. I would not stay here again.
Property is in a fantastic location and the description is accurate. Owner was responsive to requests. I would stay here again based on location and value.
The historic centre (Centro Storico), with innumerable things to see, lies adjacent to it, as do the districts containing the Pantheon, Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese, just to name a few. On the other side, just across the river, are the Vatican and Trastevere neighborhoods. With all this in its vicinity, itâs easy to see why itâs such an appealing base for tourists visiting Rome.
During the day there is a lot to discover. Beautiful churches and fountains are plentiful, and the open spaces contrasted with narrow and winding streets gives this area its Roman charm. As you would suspect, this district is surrounded by a huge number of the cityâs main attractions.
