Find your retreat in this new (fall 2021 build) luxury guest loft, quietly tucked away one block from Salt Lake City's vibrant 9th & 9th culture hub. Easily walk to SLC's best grouping of independent restaurants, coffee shops, bars, bakeries, boutiques, gelato, the Tower Theater (Sundance screenings), groceries, and Liberty Park (running trail, pool, etc). Then relax in our outdoor cedar barrel sauna. Free off street parking. Washer/dryer in unit. 1.5 miles from downtown and the university.
Named after Utah’s motto and designed by Salt Lake City’s preeminent sustainability architect David Brach, this brand new guest loft--located above a 3-car detached garage--has a vaulted ceiling, three skylights, four huge south facing windows, and a European-style ERV air filtration system. Warm, bright and well-insulated, the loft is stocked for visiting friends and family with Sleep Number PlushComfort pillows and Garnet Hill, Ballard Designs, L.L. Bean and Threshold bedding. The kitchen has granite countertops, an induction stove top, microwave, compact oven, Bosch compact dishwasher, and is stocked with Tramontina fully-clad stainless steel pots and pans and all cookware and dining essentials.
The primary bedroom has a queen size bed and blackout shades on the oversized window. The ‘hidden’ kids room is off the primary bedroom through a small 5’ 4” x 1’ 5” door (think Harry Potter's closet). The kids room measures 15’ x 5’ with a 7’ maximum low vault ceiling and has two junior beds.
In the common area, the couch converts into a second queen bed with a breathable, cool 3” Isolus Memory Foam mattress topper.
The Almost Heaven 6-person Finnish style traditional cedar sauna is an extra treat!

Google Fiber internet. Starbucks House Blend coffee. Extra large hot water heater so showers are always hot. All solar powered.

Scandinavian Stay

This modern minimalistic stay exuded the beauty and efficiency you’d expect any contemporary Scandinavian home to have. Libby very obviously thought out every detail with meticulous intention. From lighting to linens, there was not a single aspect of this loft that did not make you feel right at home. We have every intention on staying here in the future if they’ll have us!

UoU Orientation

My son (18) and I came into town a few days before orientation just to check things out. It was a lovely stay. We walked to everything for two days...then he was at the U overnight. I had a spa at Coco Art and Spa that was lovely. The food and environment of the 9th is easy and safe. I slept well every night and it was quiet. It is an easy place to chill. The host is amazing and reponsive. I highly recommend a stay here. I loved the art work in the master of the fall trees...nice touch. Very comfortable place with amenities all around. THANK YOU!

Stop browsing and book this one!

What a lovely, accommodating, comfortable stay. The loft is perfectly appointed with everything I needed and nothing I didn’t. The queen bed was comfortable and the pull-out couch bed was the MOST COMFORTABLE guest bed we have ever encountered. It is not what you expect from a pull-out — it’s quiet, firm, and gives a great night of sleep. Speaking of quiet: I expected a little residential noise but overall, a hotel stay with slamming doors and housekeeping and the climate control and other guests is MUCH noisier. The loft was incredibly peaceful and I was 100% undisturbed by the garage door or the family/owners who live in the house on the property. My host left no detail undone: everything was immaculately clean, sweet little decorations abound without feeling cluttered, and little touches like chai mix and coffee made me feel downright pampered. Parking on the street was very easy. Only one time over the weekend (when nearby 9th and 9th was at its busiest), I had to park across the street. Otherwise, I was able to park right in front of the owner’s house. This was the perfect home base for our extended visit for our daughter’s graduation from the U. We loved walking to restaurants, everywhere we needed to drive was close by, and I (a middle-aged woman) felt safe every minute. I had to work (online) on one of my days here, and the wifi was adequate. Do not hesitate to stay here! I am already trying to find an excuse to return to SLC just to stay at this loft again.

We are working professionals who have now been in Salt Lake City for over a decade. I grew up skiing, biking and hiking in the Rockies, while my husband grew up in the Midwest and always wished he was closer to the trails and slopes. We love Utah's outdoors! We also love travel, have lived in New Zealand and Europe, and have stayed in AirBNBs throughout Europe, and now enjoy bringing the best of those experiences to our loft.

Located less than a block away from SLC's vibrant 9th & 9th culture hub, this guest loft is a quiet, secluded retreat within easy walking distance to the city's best independent restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques, as well as groceries and entertainment.

Our guest loft is a new (2021) build, designed by preeminent sustainability architect David Brach, professionally decorated and stocked for visiting family and friends. And since we live just across the yard in the main house, we can keep the loft to its highest standard and help guests with any needs or requests.
