Cozy cabin with Christmas touches throughout made for a wonderful get together with family. Steve made it so easy to find everything and very responsive to questions
My brother and I spent Christmas in this charming, cozy cabin and had a wonderful time. It was wellappointed, and Steve, the owner, was friendly and communicative before, during, and after. Highly recommend. (For some reason, the website is not letting me select 5 stars for the subcategories, but that's what I would have chosen...)
My family and I had an okay time here. The place itself is physically pretty charming and has a lot going for it. We enjoyed the fire pit and other amenities, all of which were fully operational and adequate. It was a great home base to explore the surrounding area and the host was very helpful in that regard. The cabin itself is a unique old space with nooks and crannies. It really feels like a family cabin, with a lot of life lived in it.But that description goes both ways. Itâs fairly dusty in some places, musty in others, and some mouse poop was found in a few locations. And one actual mouse was seen. Which, fine, a 100 year cabin may reasonably have that. I donât hold it against them like I would in a random new house stay and the overall positives may outweigh the negatives. But itâs probably not for everyone. Additionally, the power went out five times while we were there, for reasons that were never totally clear to me. The owner was reasonably communicative when I reached out but overall not knowing when/if the power is going to go out again was a drag on our experience.
Overall, the cabin was really cozy, warm and adorable. The host was very kind and responsive and the area is scenic and exactly what you expect. If youâre looking for a simple cabin getaway at a relatively affordable price this is a good place to stay. In terms of shortcomings there were a few more wolf spiders in the cabin then I wouldâve liked to to run into, but I suppose thatâs the nature of cabin life. Lol there are also a lot of stairs to access the cabin which for me and my husband was not an issue. In fact, we rather enjoyed the fitness challenge, but for my elderly parents, it was a smidgen much at times. As long as you plan for it and donât overpack it should be fine!
45 stair steps from parking level to entry into cabin-did not expect this, but was able to navigate. (I had a leg injury, using a cane).
I did not recall seeing this in the information on the cabin.
Everything else was excellent-charming, quiet, well placed private bedrooms, easy access to trails and main road.
If you are looking for a cabin in the Lake Arrowhead area that is full of charm and located near restaurants, this is it. We came here for a quite relaxing weekend to get away from the heat. IT WAS PERFECT. We have been to a lot of rentals, and this one is so full of charm but also full of supplies and necessities that you would need. The kitchen full of everything we needed, great supplies, and there were plenty of spices and pantry items. The bathrooms were also well stocked with towels, toilet paper, and even shampoo and soap. They also had tv with all the channels and streaming services you can log into, and plenty of board games. Now one little downside of being in the forest and nature is bugs. A few spiders and webs, but this is totally to be expected for cabin in the forest. The house was clean and the towels and linens were clean. We look forward to coming back here with some friends!
We are located in Costa Mesa. I'm a database consultant and my partner is an muralist. We enjoy the mountains and want others to experience to scenery too.
