Adorable 100 year old wormy chestnut cabin located in the town of Linville Falls. This cabin makes a great home-base for some of the best hiking in NC, with a number of amazing trails within a few minute drive. Located 1 mile from the waterfalls, and less than a mile from Linville Falls Winery. Take a short walk through the neighborhood trail to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Grab breakfast at Famous Louise's Rock House right down the street. Pet and hiker friendly!
We loved the quaint, nostalgic cottage! So close to the waterfalls. Has an old time, historic feel to it that makes you wonder itâs history. Wish we had more time!
The cabin is cute and quaint with an antique feel. Pros include cleanliness, proximity to Linville Gorge, beauty of the surroundings. One drawback is that this property is not very private. It is surrounded by other houses which include dogs that will bark every time you come and go. It would be nice if listings on VRBO included exterior photos that show where a property sits in relation to other buildings. Overall, I enjoyed staying at this cabin, but prefer more remote locations
While they are new to VRBO the property owners thought of everything. WiFi availability in the mountains, very comfortable beds, kitchen, bathroom and more. Great outdoor seating opportunities.
Falls Cottage is ideal for 1-2 couples or small families for both short and longer term stays.
We loved our 5 day get away to Linville Falls. The cabin was updated and cozy, the bed and linens were invitingly delicious after a day of roaming the High Country and visiting many of the places we have been familiar with for some 42 years. Much has changed but more has stayed the same and it was fun discovering all of that.
The kitchen had ample pots and pans and there were evenings we chose to stay home for dinner and days that we ate at some wonderful little privately owned and operated restaurantsâŠThe Tin Trout in Crossnore was one of our favorites. We loved visiting the Mast store in Valley Crucis, hiking at the Linville Falls and just walking the area around the cabin. We also enjoyed visiting galleries in Burnsville, Bakersville and Spruce Pine.
Our hosts were available for the few little âemergenciesâ that we had and all was remedied quickly. If you like stepping back in time this is definitely the place for you. We had a perfectly wonderful time
