We are delighted to introduce this plantation studio at the Kapa'a Sands! A plantation-type studio with 464 sq. ft. (364 lot area plus 100 sq.ft. lanai). As you browse through the pictures of this enchanting oceanfront property, we hope you will perceive, and feel as we do, that Kapa'a Sands is indeed a very unique and special place to stay when you visit the Garden Isle. The lush tropical ambiance and tranquil setting of this delightful second-floor studio are simply unsurpassed anywhere on Kauai. The ocean view from inside and on your lanai is simply magnificent. Having a full kitchen including a dishwasher is unique in itself in any ocean view studio on Kaua'i and is indeed ideal for longer stays. Nestled in a private cove near Kapa'a town with its own beach, K Sands, as it is known by its many repeat guests, is said to have both a mystical and magical charm. At night, you will be lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf as the trade winds often softly blow in and on many mornings, the sun, like a giant orange beach ball, rises up on the horizon out of a thousand miles of open ocean.

Kapaa Sands beach in front is swimmable but always use caution at any beach current waves are visible. For shops and restaurants, there's a lot around that area that's just a walking distance like a 10-minute walk from the property. There is Kintaro Japanese right in the front of that hotel near the highway and there is Kinipopo Shopping Village that has food places. If you walk along the wall path there will also be a Lava Lava restaurant and the Coconut Marketplace.
Important: This is a privately owned studio that rents for less if you are looking to save money. The unit is cleaned prior to your arrival and stocked with start-up supplies. The studio is cleaned again upon check-out time. If you need new supplies, linens, towels, bed remade and additional spruce up clean, we do offer this additional service for a $70 fee per scheduled day. Please ask if you are interested in this service.

Additional cleaning or damage beyond normal wear and tear may result in extra charges. * A $200 fee will be charged for the replacement of a lost key. * Unauthorized early check-in or late check-out may incur an additional night's charge.

Yes, check-in was quick unfortunately, they weren’t able to accommodate us getting in a little early or leaving a little later but that’s understandable. Excellent place hopefully she has one that’s on the ocean next time and next time is next year.

However, when we have back-to-back bookings, it can be challenging since our small (but hardworking!) cleaning team is servicing multiple units across several properties to make sure everything is ready and up to standard for each guest.

Kapaa Sands vacation rental
The location was excellent! Great beach access and a view of the water from our lanai. Kitchen was well equipped. Could use a few more plates and coffee cups. The bed was very comfortable. Always quick response to any questions we had. Great neighborhood feel and the most amazing French bakery across the street. The pastries were to die for!!

Good location and good communication. But unit is dated and not someplace you'll want to spend a ton of time in. Beach out front is not swimmable. But good cheaper option for stay

Huge Disappointment
Difficulty contacting maintenance and housekeeping and manager. The phone numbers listed were out of date. The Maui vision office was uncooperative. Safe didn’t work and told it would not be replaced. Took maintenance man four visits to get tv to work. Floor was filthy!!!! They would clean it for $75. Sign in bathroom said we could get clean towels but they refused because that notice was from previous management system. Condo was ok: very plain, old. Grounds were gorgeous.

Regarding the difficulty in contacting our maintenance and housekeeping teams, we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced, but we would like to ensure you that all our contact information is now up-to-date, and we're not sure which numbers you were trying to call. However, we did our best to assist you during your stay.
Regarding the TV, our maintenance man visited you four times to help, but he started feeling unsafe due to your behavior, and we had to stop sending him. He also assured us that the TV was not having issues, but instead "user error".
We apologize that the cleanliness of the floor did not meet your expectations. We regret that you did not inform us of your concerns within 24 hours of initially checking into the condo. If you had done so in a timely manner we would have sent our housekeeping team to address the issue promptly and at no additional charge. However, you reported the cleanliness issue several days into your stay, please understand this makes it very difficult to investigate and determine if our cleaning team is at fault as you had already used the condo for several days by that point.
We want to clarify that we are not a hotel chain and do not offer full hotel-type amenities. If you had chosen a hotel your nightly rates would've reflected that. We aim to provide our guests with a comfortable and affordable alternative to a hotel stay. As we explained during the booking process, mid-stay cleaning is available for an additional charge, and we are always happy to assist guests with any additional needs they may have.
As previously mentioned during our correspondence with you, there is a laundry room near the room, so guests can do their own laundry unless they request a mid-stay clean.
It is also important to note, that not too long before your visit, Kauai Vision Rentals had recently taken over management of this property. So we were still working on improving this unit. Although we regret that the upgrades, including new furniture, sign removal, and repainting, were not completed before your stay, we are pleased to inform you that these updates have been implemented since then.
We appreciate your feedback and are committed to providing our guests with an enjoyable and comfortable experience.
