We loved our stay at this unique house. We rented it for the views, which did not disappoint. The house was large, comfortable, and well equipped. I would happily stay here again.

Amazing Spot

This was an amazing place to stay with 180 degree picture window views of the water and the wildlife activity. The house was stocked with everything we needed and Karen was extremely responsive if a question or concern came up. We hope to return someday.

Lovely property. View was gorgeous from morning fog to evening sunsets. And best supplied kitchen I have ever seen in a rental. Karen was thoughtful host with good communication before our stay. Would love to return.

Wonderful Time

The Whale Watching House lived up to it’s name. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and getting a glimpses of Orca whales. Comfortable and quite retreat. Hope to come again.

Best location for wildlife viewing

We loved the house. It is waterfront and we saw harbor seals, orcas, humpback whales and eagles - all from the deck. The house is equipped with everything. The beds were comfortable. We all had an enjoyable stay and we would definitely rent this house again.

Wildlife Heaven

Within the first few hours at the property we saw deer, an otter, minke whales, and orcas from the deck! The orcas took my breath away with how close they were. This house is beautiful and well stocked. We had such a great time and kept talking about how we need to come back and bring more family.

Perfect vacation home

We really loved this property and Karen was so nice to work with. We sat on the deck all day and waited for whales to pass us by. They passed us by once. This properly was so amazing and I was in awe of all the views. Very wonderful home. I am looking forward to staying again.

Heaven on Earth

Wow! Amazing views, from a one of kind designed home. Enjoyed having the privilege to stay and enjoy this treasure. While we had fun exploring San Juan Island, we had more fun enjoying this 'heaven on earth" home and location- cooking, laughing, playing piano, and all the time feeling blessed.

Fantastic property with great views

This is one of those places where the pictures definitely don't do justice! The views and sunsets were great and we spotted Deer, Otters, Bald Eagles and one lone Orca on the last day of our trip! The place is very convenient and well stocked and Karen is very responsive and helpful. Thanks for sharing this wonderful home with us and we look forward to coming back soon.

Ahhmazing!

We fell in love with this house from the listing alone, but, as soon as we entered we knew it was special....such INCREDIBLE views!! The architecture is so unique, what a great vibe. The house was very clean, and, so well equipped.....everything you'd need. Karen was an absolute pleasure to work with, extremely helpful, and quick to respond. We'll definitely be staying here again.

Amazing Views!

This was our second time staying at this home. The views can’t be beat! We had our 16 year old & 19 year old nieces with us. Perfect amount of space as the girls each had their own room. Sitting out on the deck each evening until sunset was the perfect end to each day. Karen is great to work with. Would definitely stay here again!

Everything we hoped for

The property definitely had the wow factor when you walk in the front door and see the ocean through a wall of windows. It was clean and well stocked. Best of all we found some paths below the house that with some care led down to the ocean. Overall the house was quiet and very enjoyable with every room having a view of the ocean.

Special house in a special location

The pictures don't quite convey how unique the house is. It was very comfortable for two couples and could easily accommodate another two people. But, I've never seen another house like this--it's basically a half circle with tall ceilings and a great view of the water. The whales did not cooperate, but we enjoyed watching the water, especially the sunset over Vancouver Island.

Great rental with AMAZING views

This rental is on the quiet side of the island. Island is so small it is still convenient to everything. Most notably, the house is close to Roche Harbor, Lime Kiln Park, Krystal Alpaca Farm and the English Camp - all MUST dos when visiting. The views from the home are truly breathtaking and there's even a small path that leads down to benches perched on the cliff side. Home was very well stocked and clean. Neighborhood was very quiet - all single family homes, mostly owner occupied. Owner/Manager was very easy to communicate with. San Juan Island is a dream - and this rental was perfect!

Heaven on Earth! Unparalleled Views.

My husband and I spent three glorious nights in this wonderful home. We saw a family of orcas swim right by the house from our relaxing spot on the deck. We were treated to a mama deer and her baby grazing beside the house on two mornings while we enjoyed coffee on the deck. The house is well appointed, with anything you might need. This was truly one of the best places we have stayed in our travels. We explored the island on one day, but just decided to stay put on the deck for one full day. We fell in love with San Juan Island, and look forward to returning to this magical place.

Love At First Sight!

We fell in love with the property on sight. The deck afforded us the most amazing views and the wildlife, OMG!! Whales morning, noon and night every day the first week and almost daily the second week, they were probably there but we couldn't find them because of low cloud cover. There was a harbor seal on the rocks just below the deck, a resident Eagle that devoured his morning catch of rock cod each morning and so much more. The entire island is a paradise. Karen and Norman were exceptional hosts. We hated leaving!

Heaven on Earth

What a gorgeous home and a lifetime experience. You can sit on the back deck and watch the endless sunset. A pod of Orcas swam by only 30 feet from the shore. We saw bald eagles, harbor seals and sea otters from the deck. We also heard but could not see an elusive whale spouting one evening. The location is perfect, especially if you Whale Watch from Mitchell Bay which is literally down the hill from you or if you kayak out of San Juan Park less than 2 miles away. The home is clean and welcoming. Owners are available and immediately responsive. Can't wait to return.

Nice but too far from things

Property was ok. Plenty of room for four people. Beds were cosy and kitchen was nice. The deck overlooking the Sound and the cliff was blocked by trees and the path leading down the cliff was overgrown . In the afternoon the sun coming thru the windows heated up the place . Couldn't cool it off til sun was down. The covered patio on the driveway side was not very useful. Poor lighting and no comfortable seating. Overall it was just too far from town and shopping . Next time we will stay closer to Friday Harbor.

Heaven

This place is a slice of heaven. Furnishing are beautiful, kitchen stocked well, bathrooms and laundry are fantastic. But the crowing jewel is the view. Orcas swam by a couple of times on their west side shuffle. There is a resident seal who loves to play in the kelp. A couple of river otters frolic down there. A resident eagle would sit in a Madrona tree and chatter in the morning. Deer stare at you like you are intruding on their paradise. I could sit outside and stare at the water, just soak it in. Karen does an excellent job of taking care of whatever you need.
