This was a great place for us to stay in order to be close enough to skiing but away from the commotion of South Lake Tahoe. Be sure to plan dinners / food accordingly as there are limited options for dining in the area.
Very ckean and well equipped. I enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the sunset. Very quiet, but not sure it would be as enjoyable if the resteraunt below was open.
Perfect place for my friend and I to stay as we were in town for the Death ride. The apartment could not have been nicer and great communication with the host made everything so seamless! Made for a great few days.
Second Time Customers, Love the place, and Ali is always a message away.. Looking forward to our 3rd stay, Great Location and the Stonefly restaurant underneath is delicious :)
Loved our little bungalow being above the Stonefly restaurant while getting familiar with the town with its rhythm & vibe đ
Thank you ! We loved it đ
I participated in a bike tour sponsored by Alta Alpina. This room is perfectly situated to get to the start location and then return to rest afterward. It is very clean, beautifully decorated, has stove, fridge, microwave, dishes. I opened the door and a refreshing cool breeze came in. I like that the room is over the Stonefly Restaurant, the sounds of people enjoying their dinner and the delicious food cooking added to the ambiance. It get super quiet for restful sleep. I recommend this place!
We loved staying at this cute apartment in the heart of Markleeville. The restaurant downstairs was wonderful and we had the best time exploring the quaint town. If weâre ever in the area again, weâd stay here again in a heartbeat! Ali was super communicative and helpful, and couldnât have been better.
Our apt had everthing we needed and was clean. We were able to meet our fishing guide one door down at general store. Super convenient. Good neighbors.
Great place to stay! Cozy and perfect for two :) , My Wife and I had an awesome time! Instant communication with Ali. Clean with all the necessities for a relaxing weekend. Super easy check in / check out process. We will be recommending to friends as well as returning for another great trip.
Perfect bright studio apartment right in downtown Markleeville! Comfortable bed and kitchen had every thing you could need. Owner even left a comfy bed for our little cattle dog, that he loved!
Communication and booking process was great. The owner, Ali, was very helpful and provided us with tips about the area, including places to hike and dining suggestions: We ate at Stonefly both nights during our stay and it was excellent. I highly recommend reservations because it gets very busy on the weekend.
The apartment is perfect for a couple or a single. We loved the central location in town and close proximity to so many great hikes.
This apartment is in the center of Markleeville above a (very good) restaurant. The unit was very clean and tastefully decorated. It had everything I needed for a couple of nights away. The manager is really nice and super helpful, great communication. Iâve already planned a trip back đ
The property was exactly as described and was very clean. It had a full functioning kitchen and the bathroom was perfect for all my needs. The location was perfect as Grover Hot Springs was just down the road, which also has quite a few hiking trails. Check in and check out was simple, which was great as there is no cell reception. Ali was an amazing host and was great at checking in with me to ensure that I had all I needed for my stay. I had a great time relaxing and rejuvenating myself in nature!
Markleeville is historical California and this studio apt. is on the main street of central old town. The apartment has everything you need, and well-appointed. You can unpack, hang clothes or put in drawers, as well as cook in a well-stocked kitchen. We ate in for almost every meal. Be sure to book a dinner reservation at Stonefly Restaurant (beneath the apartment) which has amazing food! Very clean, very quiet, and 45 minutes from Kirkwood Ski Resort. Loved our stay!
Finished a couple of books (furnished) during our stay. Kitchen was well furnished and enjoyed cooking a couple of meals. Bed was very comfortable. Definitely wake up to the sunshine in the morning. Enjoyed sitting on the deck which overlooks downtown Markleeville. Weather was great for exploring. Hiked to Frog Lake on the Pacific Crest Trail off of Carson Pass. Next day drove up Ebbet's pass but passed on hiking there due to rain. All in all, a delightful stay and would stay here again.
Really enjoyed the studio. It was warm and cosy- perfect for a city getaway. Host was very helpful with arrangements for arrival etc. Would definitely stay again!
This property was the perfect "launch pad" for my husband as he participated in his first Death Ride! It was great being right on the highway watching cyclists ride past, and the lovely restaurant downstairs made for a fun vibe. Ali was a perfect host and was very easy to communicate with.
I have lived in Markleeville for 25 years. I would not choose to live anywhere else, although I like to travel, Hiking and being in the mountains are what I love most. For the past 11 years, I have been the owner/chef of the Stonefly Restaurant that my husband and I built. I sold the restaurant in the fall of 2021 and am currently enjoying some stress-free days in the Sierra.
