Historic home gushing personality as well as modern ammenities!
Quant historic home within walking distance to Harper's Ferry! Antiques & primitive decor galore! Wonderful porches & outside sitting areas. Well appointed with everything we needed. Very cozy! Thanks for sharing this lovely historic home!
Loved the nicely decorated cozy, comfy two-story carriage house; walkable to restaurants, quiet, accessible to array of sites, several pleasant outdoor spaces to enjoyâŠ.delightful stay.
Lovely property and very clean and homey!! Door lock keypad was a bit challenging, but, key was available to open the door!! We had a great time and would love to retfor a longer stay!!
This home is a true gem. We were able to make ourselves at home immediately. Our dog loved the outside space. It is very charming and super clean. A perfect blend of history and modern touches. Walking distance to the historic sites in Harper's Ferry and lots of restaurants. We will be staying again in the future.
We had a wonderful time at this location. The location is close to town and trails, owners communicated well when needed. House is small but accommodates party of 4 comfortably.
We loved our time at the Union Street Carriage Quarters. It was a great retreat for a quiet New Yearâs Eve. The space was decorated beautifully for the holiday; it made our time even more special. Canât wait to plan another trip here in the future.
We appreciated that this location is within walking distance of many of the trails, restaurants, and other spots in Harper's Ferry. We also appreciated the clear communication for the host. We will recommend this location to friends!
We were delighted with the pretty old home, and all the historic details and antiques added to the atmosphere. This was a trip for four cousins and was perfect. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped for what we needed and the beds and sofa were comfortable. It was within walking distance of historic Harperâs Ferry so we didnât worry about driving many times. We hiked, shopped and enjoyed the restaurants. The only comment we would make is there didnât seem to be enough hot water for the shower and tub to be working at one time. Also, the wooden mantle upstairs was pretty unstable and fell over once when someone held onto it to go down the stairs. A nightstand or two by the double bed would have been useful too.Thank you for letting us share your cozy property!
The quality of historical preservation is well done. This house is a great blend of modern and vintage architecture. We enjoyed the two days spent there and it was our favorite place on our West Virginia trip.
Loved that place and area.
The house feels like home being far away from home.
The owners take great care in maintaining the house and paid a lot of attention to details and atmosphere.
You can find small museums, cafe, bars and long trails about a mile away from the house.
Highly recommend. Would love to come back đ
Everything was very accurate to the listing! Clean, cozy, good location, nice charm and owner clearly cared about details like decor and setting up a tree inside for Christmas! Would stay here again no doubt! Also it was a 3 min walk to a few good food places and 2 places to go out for a late drink - The Barn and this little coffee shop that turned into dinner + drinks at night.
The Carriage house was a perfect spot to stay for a weekend away in Harpers Ferry. The location was ideal - just a 3-minute walk to the very quaint and delicious Bolivar restaurants, bakery, cocktail bar, and of course The Barn for live music. Itâs about a 1-mile walk to downtown Harpers Ferry. The house is nicely appointed with modern conveniences but still in line with its historical background, and the couch and bed were extremely comfortable. The front deck and back patio were absolutely lovely places to have morning coffee and afternoon beers. We would absolutely stay here again!
My pal and I stayed at this clean, convenient two-story house during a bike-riding trip in Harpers Ferry. It's small but does have two bedrooms and two baths, so worked well for two people. The house is clean and fairly well-stocked; check-in & check-out was easy; good Wi-Fi and smart TV; and the owners were very communicative. We enjoyed the second-story balcony and delightful back yard (just be careful getting to and from the top of the hill!). The house might present some challenges for people with mobility problems (e.g., the steep, winding steps to the bedrooms; climb to the outdoor fire pit area), but for anyone else it's just fine. Location is excellent: short walk to a bakery, restaurant, wine shop, art gallery, etc., and a 15 to 20-minute walk (or very short bike ride or drive) to the heart of Harpers Ferry. Would definitely stay again.
Going Back in Time at the Union Street Carriage House
We had a delightful stay at the Union St. Carriage House during our trip to Harpers Ferry. The house was cozy and takes you back in time, providing the perfect environment to slow down and enjoy the wonders and beauty of West Virginia. The kitchen was nicely equipped with dishes, pots and pans for cooking small meals. If you do plan on cooking, we would advise ensuring there are either no leftovers, or that you have containers or storage bags for saving food (there was no plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or plastic bags for wrapping up food). The beds on the second floor were very comfortable and the rooms warm up quickly. The stairs to the second floor were definitely steep and took a day to somewhat master. The hosts of the Union St. Carriage House provided recommendations and a guidebook for their guests to ensure a pleasant stay. We wholeheartedly second their recommendation of eating at âThe Press Roomâ â reservations are advisable. In addition to the cuisine at âThe Press Room,â we immensely enjoyed the cuisine at âYatai Hibachi,â a nearby food truck. One more note before you book your stay, the driveway is steep and a little tricky to back into or out of. If driving around Harpers Ferry, we would suggest having a higher riding vehicle to prevent scraping the carâs undercarriage, as some of the hills/grades in the town are rather steep.
We loved this property! The attention to keeping the historical value of the home and blending beautiful modern conveniences was wonderful. It was close to town and other important places we wanted to visit. We would recommend to anyone!
We loved this house. Enjoyed the 2 bedrooms (since I snore) so hubby could get some rest.
Had everything we needed. Even had a fire one night.
Will be back.
