Great location amazing owners

My family and I went to the coast to celebrate my husbands 38th birthday. We wanted to be close enough to the beach we could drive but far enough not to not effected by the traffic. This house was perfect! It was perfectly clean and ready for our arrival. We had one issue that was of no fault of the owners and they still fixed it extremely quickly! I will definitely be staying here again!

It was… enough. This property is clearly very old and probably tough to maintain. It sufficed for a place to sleep, shower, and cook a few meals, but I wouldn’t describe it as “nice”. It was just okay and just sufficient. The dumpster is also right outside of this unit and the garbage truck woke us ALL up at 6am every other day. That really sucked. Bring earplugs.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re glad the property provided the essentials for your stay, but we regret that it did not fully meet your expectations. We understand how the early morning garbage service could be disruptive, and we will look into schedule as it should only be picked up once a week. We truly appreciate your perspective, as it helps us improve both the guest experience and the way we present the property. We hope you were still able to enjoy your time at the beach overall. -Padre Escapes

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had our children and grandchild meet us for a little R&R. We had a pleasant time together. The condo was good however, it could use new shower heads in both bathrooms. A must after a hot day on the beach. Also, the bbq is a community one and is on its last rusty leg. All in all we would give it a 4 1/2 stars.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Tranquil waters and close to everything - shopping, beaches and restaurants. When TV stopped working management was friendly, helpful and quick to respond. Didn't care for the 70s shower/tub on main level. Very awkward. More blankets on beds would have been nice. Stove/oven very old but worked, except for the timer.

All kinds of issues

This was the most difficult stay i have ever had using VRBO. The stairs were literally falling off, which was discovered by my 81 yesr old mother which could have been a disaster, the shower door fell off and outlets did not work. I do have to say, they came and fixed everything and were very responsive. I was surprised at this had a rating of 8.9. This was not an 8.9 property.

Very clean condo and good location

This was probably the cleanest condo we’ve rented. We brought our boat so having a boat slip and boat ramp was important. Beds were comfortable except the sofa bed. We had a petite 20 something sleeping on it and she just slept on the couch after the first night. Things that could be improved upon are the $50 we paid to property manager to park our boat trailer at a site close by closed at 10 pm and we were not given correct information to get in after hours and had to park on the street the first night. Also, we had 8 people and only 6 bath towels. I would recommend to boaters only if you can get there before dark.

Enjoyed The Area

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was very convenient to everything, was in a great location. It was a short 5-7 min drive to the beach. Checkin was simple. Condo was clean when we arrived. The unit is in need of some updates, along with repairs. The whole complex looks older on the outside and needs to desperately be painted. Mgt was quick to answer calls but disappointed that we had to insist on extra towels for our family before housekeeping would bring them the next day. Electrical breakers kept being thrown, a bit of an inconvenience. Overall, our stay was good and we had a blast!

Mini Vacay beach style

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For the most part the size and accommodations were good. Several things: The main floor restroom has wooden towel holders that can no longer attach to the wall. There are holes in the wall and the towel bar was just in there. Second bedroom with the opening had no pillow cases on the pillows. The restroom upstairs has glass shelves on the shower stall that are ready to fall out. There is pink mold on the bottom that needs to be scrubbed. The throw pillow for the second bedroom we dirty and did not place them on the bed. The beds we so comfortable. It’s a little dated but worked perfectly for our family size.

Great place, just a few minor things

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, the place was clean, spacious, and had all materials we needed regarding towels, dishes, starter cleaning materials, etc. There were just a few notes for improvement: The downstairs shower did not have hot water. This made for a very cold shower the first morning, but luckily the upstairs shower worked as expected, so we all had to share that one. The dishwasher was also not working. We ran a load, but the dishes still came out dirty. We hand washed our dishes instead. Not a big deal, but something to note. The wifi connection was also very limited. If we were in a room besides the living room or kitchen, we couldn’t get a consistent connection. Those were the only things. The beds were super soft and clean, the space was comfortable, and the view was fantastic.

Mixed Feelings

We've stayed at The Spinnaker before and had a pleasant experience, but this particular unit had some issues. Upon arrival, we found the temperature to be extremely high, taking a while to cool down. It would have been considerate if the management had pre-cooled the unit, especially during the summer season. Additionally, we noticed the fridge was likely turned off and then turned back on just before our arrival, making it uncomfortably warm. As a result, we stored our food and drinks in ice chests until the next day. Another issue was the lack of direct access to the back dock/canal. We had to go through the pool and then navigate back to our unit, making fishing a hassle. Furthermore, it appears that the property owner/management company doesn't conduct regular maintenance checks. The shower door came off its rails, the shower handle fell off the door, and the showerhead sprayed water sideways, soaking the toilet and floor. I spent almost an hour fixing these problems that weren't my responsibility. The only positive aspect was the comfortable beds and pillows. Overall, our stay was disappointing due to these issues.

Thank you for your feedback. We are deeply disappointed to hear you did not have the wonderful experience that we aim to offer here at Padre Escapes. It looks like the AC was at 75 degrees for your arrival which we do for each of our arrivals to ensure it is comfortable and can be adjusted up or down based on personal preference. Fridges can often feel like they are not fully cold when you first load items into it because it is going from empty to completely full. Please know we strive to go the extra mile for each and every guest, including making something right if it needs attention. We will address the issues that you have brought to our attention and ensure that they are taken care of. In the future, we ask that you give our office a call the moment you notice something that needs attention during your stay. This way, we have every opportunity to correct it and improve your experience in a timely manner. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

NOT Family Friendly

Where do I begin? First off... the check-in time states 4 pm... I didn't even get the check in email until a little after 5:10 (have screenshots if you need proof) after contacting the owner multiple times asking when I would be receiving the check in information since we were coming from out of town (nothing like leaving it to the last minute), the dock area is through the pool area that was NEVER communicated until I asked, the pool and hot tub area was filled with construction guys sitting there taking breaks on and off while my family and I tried to swim, the construction guys ended up painting handrails and parking spots and didn't let anyone know or put up wet paint signs until mid day so now we have paint in our vehicle floor board and on multiple people clothes, the parking spot SUCKS if you have anything larger than a compact vehicle or a motorcycle, the "clean towels" were damp when we got there so we ended up having to dry our towels before we could even take a shower, some couple next door was heavily making out and had the lady's top off on the DECK and luckily my dad and their dad always go out and check before letting them go outside with them, there are no rules whatsoever about not feeding any birds or animals on the property yet when you do, you get nasty grams immediately after... It's a horrific place for kids & families wanting to get away... If you're into the construction, rude, and pure disgusting surroundings, book away.

The bad: The place is ok. I'd say somewhat overpriced. Very dated. Pretty much all features are old, still work but old. The worse part was the sleeper sofa. The "mattress" is so thin you can feel all the springs. We couldn't use it the first night, we got more bedding from the management, which it helped some but not fully, but that thing NEEDS to be thrown out because it cannot count the place for 8 people! We found two roaches while using the place. The front wooden stairs that take you up to the front door are kinda lose and chipping away. Our fast chargers could not work on their dated outlets. The dumpster is right out front so we got woken up when it came at 6:30am to take the trash. The carpet needs a deep cleaned or to just be replaced. The maintenance came twice (outlet and wifi issue), but only after the second visit I actually got a text telling me if the problem was resolved or not. For the first visit, nobody got back to me.And to top it off, the wifi box died two days before our departure so we didn't have internet for the last part of our trip. The good: We had enough utensils, and cookware. It's a pretty spacious apartment. Good view. Very quite area. And close to many retailers and restaurants. It was nice being able to fish just right outside. The beds were comfortable and clean. Enough pillows, bedding and toilet paper. The management line customer service was professional and friendly.
