Home is beautiful, clean and offers a lot of indoor and outdoor space. Our group really enjoyed the balcony, decks, hot tub, and the projector screen for some scary movies. The best part was this house was dog friendly, so we got to enjoy the big yard and lake views with our furry friends. Our host John was kind, and accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again, or recommend to others.
Great property, peaceful, plenty of space. The barn was our favorite place:). The view of Danby pond was beautiful, the canoe and kayaks a nice addition! The host john made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Will return next time in Vermont!
We had 8 people stay at the property and we had an amazing & peaceful time. The property was clean and had everything we needed and plenty of card/board/yard games and we loved being able to take the kayaks out. The host was available as-needed. Would definitely recommend this property and would stay again - thanks for a great experience!
We had a wonderful stay on Danby Pond. Clean house, comfy beds and a well-stocked kitchen. The added bonus of disc golf and volleyball really had the kids in our group very happy. John could not have been more cordial, and he was so very nice to check in several times to make sure we were happy. So peaceful and loved just sitting on the deck watching the sun go down behind the mountain and glimmering off the pond. Pure paradise!
this place is absolutely beautiful, the views, the house, the communication was all above and beyond. we stayed here during the floods in July '23 and we had no way to get home from roads being washed away and John made sure we had everything we needed and he let us stay an extra night. it was quite a scary experience but he really put our minds at ease and we Will definitely be staying here again! thank you again for everything!
Wonderful family vacation in Vermont! House was big and set up great for large group. Fully stocked as advertised. Redo of the barn was outstanding. Pix on website not up to date. Windows in barn need shades, especially on street side. Did not expect the close proximity of main road or non swimability of the pond. Nice view though. Needs new coffee maker. Takes hours to make a pot of coffee.hot tub was great, but slow in getting to a high temp. All in all, great time!
We had a problem with air conditioner not working which the landlord was very good about and brought us another one. Not enough silverware to serve 10 people. Barbecue grill wasn't working properly. Pictures make property look much better then what it is. Found Popsicle sticks and wrapper on one of the beds. A lot of geese and geese poop all over property. No can opener in kitchen. Luckily someone had one in there car. We had to call for bath rugs. No rugs were in bathrooms. Ran out of toilet paper. Used condiments left in refrigerator for next tenants which seems not safe for next tenants to use. Beautiful area though.
My wife and I stayed at the house for a week with our adult son, adult daughter and her adult boyfriend. We also brought our dog. Since VT had all that flooding recently a couple of the rooms had some flood damage but the property manager offer accommodations in lieu of the one room under renovations still and since we had a smaller party it was fine. We loved the porches espcially the screened in dining room area. There was plenty of seating outside. We are very outdoorsy people so the lake was a big draw for us. It was great that they had kayaks and a canoe to use as well as plenty of life jackets (even some for kids). The part of the lake near the house was filled with lillipads which made getting in and out of the water easy (steadied the boats) but made fishing not possible from the shoreline but that was really the only drawback of the place. The property had a couple outdoor games, the firepit and a large grill. And the dog loved all the space to roam and relax. The place was very clean, well stocked with kitchen and cleaning supplies and the house offered enough space for us to spread out if we needed a break. Definitely recommend staying here with the extended family.
The property is very nice but could use a few updates (like fixing the screens around the outside dining area, parts of the ceiling not being swept of bugs, or cooking vessels & implements being in random drawers or having as many double sided oars as there are kayaks).
We had an issue with hot water not running (a breaker had tripped) and one dirty bed when we came in but the property manager was on it and resolved this very fast. He was always available - including giving us great local tips and making a special trip on a holiday to bring us a vacuum for the hot tub. A+ on that front.
The barn itself is great as was the hot tub on the porch.
They also left us a local jam sampler and maple syrup sampler which was highly appreciated by everyone.
While not the fault of the property, there were a lot of growth/lily pads in the water making swimming next to the property impossible and getting in/out of the dock a little harder than it should be with kayaks (or even fishing from the dock if you wanted to do that).
Also as is to be expected in areas like these, there are a lot of bugs so you have to be prepared for that.
Overall, a nice, peaceful stay and no major complaints.
