Super cute apartment above the garage of the Blue Door Cottage. WINTER SPECIAL Rent Friday & Saturday and stay 1 extra night free (Sunday or Thursday) except for Boat parade, Christmas or New Years eve week. This bright and airy unit has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, and a really large living area with both a sofa and a love seat with lots of windows. There is a small dining table for two, a coffee bar and an outdoor area with a bistro table to enjoy your morning coffee, or a glass of wine with the sunset. The patio also has a chair and ottoman so you can recline and read a good book while getting some afternoon sun or roll the shade down for privacy. The unit is a few steps away from the bayfront and the boardwalk and a 2 minute walk to Marine Ave, the shops, restaurants, Irvine market and a Balboa Bar / Chocolate covered banana at Dad's or the Sweet Life.

Come enjoy a quiet relaxing stay at the Blue Door Suite, wake up enjoy coffee on the patio, enjoy a sunrise walk arround the Island, then spend the day exploring Balboa Island and take the famous Auto Ferry across the bay to enjoy Newport Beach. Access to the unit is through the alley and parking is on the street. The garage is for the use of the Blue Door Cottage but there is plenty of parking on Park Ave, Abalone or Crystal Ave for the apartment.

Perfect little balboa getaway

We loved staying at this cottage, Pete was so helpful and gave us great tips of things to do around the island. Amazing location and very comfy bed and overall stay!

Great place with a great host

A very cozy and clean beach getaway! The location on Balboa Island is ideal. Very close to the shops and restaurants. The host, Peter, was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

This place is amazing!

We were in the area for a regatta and this place was adorable, perfectly located and so easy to be in - the treats/snacks were such a great touch. We are thinking about coming back soon just so we can stay here again. Thank you to Pete for making it so magical.

We loved the location, the cozy Apt and the ease of parking plus the easy walks to the Main Street.

Great location for getting around and Corona Del Mar and Newport Beach. It was great opportunity to see several friends from when we lived in SOCA. Pete was a great host and we will be coming back.

Peter was a great guy! My wife and I stayed there for our anniversary! Peter even went out of his way to gift my wife and I with awesome treats! I would definitely recommend this place to friends!

Cute Balboa property

We loved our stay in Peters apartment. It was walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our favorite cafe was Succulent coffee roasters - their coffee is fabulous. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful , comfortable studio apartment

The apartment was an excellent choice offering everything I needed in its amenities, it’s setting located near the ocean, access to restaurants, and peacefulness. In addition, the owner/manager provided excellent assistance regarding facility and suggestions related to interesting sites and fun nearby.

Great Balboa Island stay

This a really pleasant, attractive place to stay on Balboa Island, would come again. Nice hospitality by the host. Clean, nice furnishings, just an enjoyable stay. Actually, it is a small one-bedroom apartment, so more privacy than a studio apartment. No on-site parking, but street parking within a block was easy to find. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Bungalow

Outstanding accommodations! Perfect location on Balboa Island. Just steps from the bay and a few minutes walk to restaurants and grocery. Very clean. The kitchen is handy and there is ample space in rooms. Pete is extremely helpful and makes the rental experience very easy! Highly recommended.

Great little upstairs apartment, well supplied and excellent location. Peter was fabulous and welcoming . Some workers were making construction noise on Saturday near me and he was right on it reminding them of Newport Beach rules.

Hidden Gem for solo or young couples in Balboa Island

Pete is such a wonderful host and very responsive. The place is very clean, inviting cozy and everything are well organized in small space. Easy to park on the street and so quick, 5 mins walk to go to many restaurants, grocery store or get good coffee & pastries. You will relax to watch sunrise or sunset at ocean in 1/2 block walk. Highly recommended to stay the blue door bungalow if you are solo traveler to relax your mind in this busy world.

Sweet and Comfy Cottage

After a long day of travel, we were so happy to find this cottage welcoming and adorably decorated with a tasteful beach theme. The host left us wonderful charcuterie goodies and a bottle of champagne in the fridge. Lots of fluffy pillows and blankets, soft towels and super comfy bed. The sweet deck was the perfect place to relax and plan our next adventure for the day. Close enough for a quick walk to the main street for shopping and restaurants but still tucked away on a quiet alley. We can’t wait to go back!

Best Host EVER!

This is an adorable, classic Balboa Island apartment. It is immaculate, comfortable and was the perfect spot for me to revisit the area where I grew up. The blue and white 'beachy' theme is carried throughout and there are quality sheets and plenty towels. I was met with delicious wine, coffee and snacks which were a welcome surprise. I loved everything about my stay. I have rented large and small rentals in many locations and a few countries. Pete is by far my most favorite host. He made checking in easy with photos and instructions. He also checked in with me to see if I had everything I needed at the apartment or if I needed any local tips. He helped to make me feel part of the neighborhood. Thank you so much!
