Mountain Midcentury Stunner w/ Blue Ridge Views + Hot Tub + Fire Pit
As if it could get any better at the Mountain Midcentury, we now have a HOT TUB! This is the perfect small-town base camp for your Blue Ridge getaway. If youâre lucky enough to be here when a storm rolls in over the mountains, grab a cup of coffee and get situated on the couch for an awesome show! The view is the same from the office, which includes use of a printer and large desk. The dining table expands to seat 10 comfortably, plus 4 at the island. Movie night is cozy in the downstairs den with the giant down-filled sectional and 65â TV. Both Queen rooms have year-round mountain views. The eastern facing backyard is enveloped by the mountains and a birdwatcherâs dream! Lit up with string lights year round and fireflies in the summer, it is quiet and charming, great for kids, and the perfect setup for an outdoor movie (BYO projector!). Canton has so much to offer, like tubing on the Pigeon River, great local dining, and the small-town mountain culture we all love. This home is a great place to park and unplug, but also incredibly convenient to Asheville (where we work and school!), Haywood County amenities, the Biltmore House (pictured), the Blue Ridge Parkway, apple orchards, Cataloochee Ski Resort, many incredible waterfalls, and some really fantastic local swimming holes!
Plenty of space for everyone to sleep, relax, and hang out. Beautiful house and high quality kitchen! We couldnât stop picking out all the things we wish we had at home! 20 min to downtown Asheville, and pretty views from the front yard. So great!
This is our second time staying here while visiting my daughter and 2 year old grandson for Easter. Had amazing time and grandson now thinks this is "grandma's house". Everything you could imagine for a family gathering and toys and books aplenty. Had only one snafu with fireplace but host immediately responded and also gave us a later checkout which more than made up for it. Absolutely loved our time and will definitely be back to this gem!
9 family members stayed in this lovely Mid-Century Modern home. It was very close to the venue, and the accommodations were lovely.
Everyone had their own room and there was plenty of space to spread out.
Although we brought our own coffee and tea, the host seemed to supply some items in the pantry that I wasnât expecting.
I would highly recommend this place to stay. And after a long day/evening I would recommend the hot tub, however we didnât use it because we didnât prepare for it and it was to cold out for us, being the wimps that we are.
Kudos to the owners.
I came with my adult son to see my daughter and grandson who live in Canton, and were so happy to have found this spacious home. LOVE the decor/design/mid-century vibe, the hot tub, the play structure for my 2.5 year old grandson, and SO many toys. He was in heaven, which made ME feel wonderful. Fully stocked place, you need to bring nothing but your suitcase. Private backyard, lovely fireplace(s), and plenty of space to spread out. Enjoyed it immensely!
The description and pictures do not lie. This house is beautiful, very tastefully decorated, and modernized without losing any of its intrinsic charm.Really,so very nice.
It is the most well-stocked rental home we have ever visited;we did not want for anything! The owner leaves detailed directions and lists for everything;very much appreciated!
The owner has a three-ring binder with suggestions, ratings, and ideas that will fill your mind with places to go and things to do.It was fabulous;gave us inspiration and helped 'fill in the blanks' with what to do with our time here.
The house is located about twentyish minutes from Asheville,or access to the Blue Ridge Parkway.I heartily recommend the Parkway for sunrise or sunset;we got killer photos and the serenity(including the people around us!)was inspiring. Also,Waynesville to the west is a fun place to visit and grab coffee or visit a brewery(Frog Level's great!)
Again, this house is "IT" if you are looking to stay in the Asheville area.It is fabulous!
What an amazing property! The backyard is a dream with all the flowers, play set and fire pit, and the house is super kid friendly with SO MANY toys for kids. We enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding at Lake Junaluska, hiking to Wildcat falls, an e-bike tour in Asheville, a trolley ride at Craggy Mountain Line, kayaking the pigeon river, and lots of good take-out, mostly from Maribeth's amazing recommendations! She was a wonderful host, super helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Overall an amazing home and so many great memories. Thanks so much to Maribeth and Ben for opening your home!
We had such a good time in this wonderful family home! We had everything we needed, enjoyed all of the special touches, and getting to know a little about Canton. We were attending a conference at Lake Junaluska just 8-9 miles away, and this was just perfect for a place to stay. Thank you to Maribeth and Ben!
Our family stayed for two nights on a stopover trip. The home was beautiful, great location and the host was lovely to work with. I especially loved her good, better, best lists in the houseâs information book. Would highly recommend!
We had such a great getaway with family! The house was perfect. It was big enough to spread out yet had great spaces for spending time together as a family. Maribeth was an incredible host! Iâm so grateful for her communication and how well she took care of us as we navigated the winter weather. She even left sleds out for us so we could enjoy the beautiful snow! We would love to visit again!
This home has such beautiful design details, and it made our time there feel very warm and cozy. Our kids loved the toys, books, and backyard especially. It was a real treat for this mom to enjoy a cup of coffee while my kids played on the swingset outside! This house is deceptively big, and would accommodate a cousin getaway easily. We left feeling inspired to add more plants to our own home! :) Would definitely return.
Maribeth's home was a perfect accommodation for our party, which included our 18 month old grandson... Everything was as advertised and VERY comfortable and stylish, and Maribeth was very responsive in answering questions. The boy especially enjoyed playing in the back yard, which made ALL of the time we spent hanging out much easier! We also appreciated the very well-appointed kitchen- were even able to easily prepare hors d'ouevres for twenty-five to take to one of the events associated with the wedding we were in town to celebrate! Highly recommended.
We are Maribeth and Ben Scott, and we have been married since 2010, and living/working/playing in the Asheville area since 2015. We have four precious kiddos, and we are currently traveling the country in an RV (miracle story!). Your stay here at our Mountain Midcentury will support our trip of a lifetime, and we are SO GRATEFUL. We have come to love the VRBO community--it feels like people supporting other people--and we are so happy to be a part of it!
Canton is a proud mill town, adorably referred to as âPaper Townâ by locals. The breweries in our area are second to none, including Bearwaters, right here in Canton. Check out Pigeon River Outfitters for river tubing (also less than five minutes from our home!). Canton also features a local coffee shop, a fantastic community pool with a water slide, a greenway, a town museum (pictured), and great local dining. I love walking the greenway and popping into the Riverside Feed and Seed to see the animals and check out whatâs new. We are less than 10 minutes from the incredible Chestnut Ridge venue, as well as the adorable town of Waynesville. Check out our town's NEW world-class mountain biking park (FREE!) Berm Park, that is within the Chestnut Mountain Park (5 mins away!). Walking/running around Lake Junaluska (pictured) is one of our favorite activities in Spring/Summer/Fall! Asheville and West Asheville are a very easy 25 minute drive. Sylva and Dillsboro are quintessential mountain towns, both 35 minutes west. This is the perfect location for a week in the Blue Ridge Mountains and foothills! For day trips, you can easily head to Dollywood; Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge; Greenville, SC; Knoxville, TN (all 1.5 hours in different directions), or Hendersonville/Flat Rock; Lake Lure (45 mins-1 hour).
Hot tub, fire pit, front porch and back patio mountain views! Experience Asheville as a local, but more than that--come to understand the Blue Ridge Mountain culture that has made our area a standout in the nation. Take in a local high school football game (Go Pisgah!) or catch a bluegrass show. We absolutely love where we live!
