Perfect!

Great Location

Excellent stay at Sugar Beach. Wonderful views of the ocean and west side of Maui. Great proximity to so many dining locations and activities. Nice, separate vanity from shower and bathroom and fantastic lanai. We did see one roach which was disappointing.

Wonderful Family Vacation

Location was clean and beautiful! 421 was a great unit for a family vacation. Very clean, easily accessible, and a nice resort. We enjoyed the view and the amenities. Biggest frustration was the lanai was not usable after rain. The carpet and cushions on the lanai were damp for days after rain, even though we tried drying in the sun. We would absolutely return. Thank you!

Great view!

The ocean view was great and check in was easy. You can see that the unit has been updated, but some of the furnishings are tired and could be replaced. The unit could also use a deep cleaning. We found what appeared to be blood on the white headboard of the bed and we had to clean it. The couch had stains, the shower had some mold stains and dust was present on light fixtures, top of refrigerator, and baseboards. As for the resort itself, the grounds are well maintained, but the lawn chairs on the grass are all falling apart and need to be replaced or repaired.

The View is Amazing

The photos do not do the view justice. The waves are right below your condo. The view and the sound of the waves are spectacular. The condo itself fit our needs. The small kitchen did the job to make any meals we needed. This is not a luxury condo and is basic. I was satisfied with ot over all. I had a few small problems during our stay the were addressed by Vacasa. Our coffee maker broke and one was delivered same day. The location was great. You will need a rental car if you stay here to get to restaurants and activities. The beach below condo was nice for a morning walk. The pool was nice but full of kids as most pools are. The condo is small and I would not recommend for more than 2 people.

Extraordinary view, very ordinary condo at an excessive price

The good news is that the location of this condo is terrific. It’s on the 4th floor, right on the water so residents can see, hear, and smell the ocean all the time. The beach here is good for walking and building sand castles. The other good news about this rental is that Vacasa is responsive, especially the local on-site staff. The Sugar Beach Resort staff were also responsive. Now the bad news about this condo. When we got there, the dishwasher was failing and ultimately failed. The onsite Vacasa staff were responsive, but the dishwasher had not been repaired or replaced by the time we left. The bathroom is long overdue for a remodelling. The condo needs to be painted by a professional, not an amateur. The glassware needs to be replaced. The pots and pans need to be replaced. Either the lanai furniture needs to be replaced or the upholstery needs to be cleaned and stored some place other than the lanai so it will stay clean. The fake-wood flooring looks cheap, feels uneven and plastic under bare feet. The living room needs a larger coffee table. An area rug in the living room would be good. A couple of light bulbs were burned out. The fitted sheet didn’t stay fitted -- perhaps tired elastic. In short, the apartment was poor value at $700 a night.

Points negatifs: -Sable sur les draps (coussins mal propres) -Ventilation de la douche encrassée de saleté salissant notre savon à tous les jours -luminaires sales -divan-lit non confortable, même pour un enfant et coussins sales/tachés -mousticaire de porte patio difficile à fermer -coussins extérieurs très sales et tachés -plaque de cuisson incrustée de saleté -certains articles de cuisine brisés -1chaise de plage brisée, -ocean non baignable car sale +++, on doit aller aux plages plus au sud-ouest ou plus au nord-ouest pour se baigner -piscine très sale et eau non claire Points positifs: -laveuse/sécheuse dans l’appartement et savon de lave-vaisselle en quantité suffisante -grand balcon avec vue sur l’océan et coucher de soleil -cuisine rénovée et assez bien équipée -Localisation bien située pour activités

Lovely stay

We had a great stay at Sugar Beach Resort! The view from the balcony is beautiful and this stretch of beach is very nice and quiet. It's conveniently located for exploring all parts of Maui and the unit was well stocked with everything we needed - beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels, etc. Anything else can be rented reasonably priced from the little shop down by the pool. The bed was comfy, the pool and hot tub were nice to relax in. The resort building itself is on the older side (but the maintenance staff seems to well maintain it and keep common areas clean and tidy), and this unit has been partially renovated. The bathroom could use a refresh, but overall it was a lovely stay and we would certainly return.

Perfect Hawaiian Retreat

This condo could not be any more perfect. It is oceanfront with the most spectacular view and the easiest access to both a pool and the beach. With so many necessities provided (bedding, bath towels, dish soap, washing machine detergent, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, & body wash, beach towels, two beach chairs, and a beach umbrella) it is mostly ready to go and just requires a quick trip to the local grocery. Restaurants, shopping, shave ice, and a variety of activities are nearby and other Maui attractions are just a short drive away given Kihei's central location. The Sugar Beach Resort has a helpful staff, chill vibe, a small restaurant, and a rental shop for beach and water equipment. We are so grateful to have found this incredible condo and will never forget the sound of the waves crashing just below our lanai as we watched sunsets from the perfect vantage point.

Ideal Location

The check in process was smooth (we did it at about 3PM), they are considerate with an option of early check in if the room is ready. It was nicely stocked (would have loved a toaster though). All other essentials (Soap/Shampoo etc) were available. Lovely views from the 4th floor and the beach access is superb. Its a 20/30 min drive to Lahaina and a 40 min (with traffic) drive to Kaanapali. So its away from the crowds but close enough to go for lunch, especially Lahaina. Most days it was a 20 min drive. If you are not up for it, the Kihei town center is a 10 min drive too with lots of dining options. I would be back to the same location.

Sound of the Ocean

The location is great & we enjoyed running on the beach every morning, followed by a stop at the Sugar Beach Bakery. Our favorite treat was the coconut pineapple squares . . . so yummy! The complex was quiet, the grounds were beautifully maintained and we loved having coffee and breakfast outside and listening to the sound of the ocean. Kihei, we'll be back.

Beautiful Lanai view of beach.

We had an excellent time in Maui. The room was comfortable. The room only had one frying pan with no lid also no juice pitcher. Our family had rented other rooms at sugar beach and they were stocked with all necessary supplies. They need to clean behind couches.

Great location

Nice resort right on the sand. The sandwich shop is excellent. Plenty of parking. The view from our balcony was wonderful. The kitchen had all we needed. The unit is nicely decorated with a comfy bed also.

Very Pleased

Stayed at Sugar Beach #421 for eight days and were very pleased with the condo and the overall experience. As noted repeatedly, this fourth floor condo provides a direct and beautiful ocean view. The kitchen was well stocked and the place had clearly been well cleaned prior to our arrival. No, it's not brand new, but it really isn't all that dated. Beach chairs were very nice. A beach umbrella would have been wonderful, but one can be rented reasonably in the shop down below. No complaints. One oddity, if one uses the washer and dryer, the dryer vents into the shower so don't be surprised if some dust balls end up on the shower floor. Great place to stay. Highly recommend.

Amazing place
