Had a wonderful stay at this house, on a quiet street, walking distance to beach and lovely Harwich Port. Very functional house for a young family, and very responsive and helpful owner Todd.
Old house with a nice front porch in a great location (walkable to beach and town) with a few appreciated upgrades - central AC, master bed, and commercial-grade stove. First trip with a toddler and worked out well (we were especially grateful for the crib & high chair, he loved the front porch).
We have owned this property since my father bought it in 1976. Since then we have gathered there as a family every year. My sister and I intend to keep this as a family home for many years to come, but until we can return, we hope to share it with others. We hope that your time there will be as magical as it has been for us for over 40 years.
with its beautiful gardens that have been designed by our mother, the shady lawn, close proximity to the beaches, downtown, and ferry to Nantucket, this place is hard to beat!
The house is located on a side street, not the main road that feeds down town which is Bank St. As a result we have less traffic, but we are still close to the heart of downtown. We are also a short walk from the beach, down to the end of Freeman St and across route 28, continue straight ahead with beautiful Wychmere Harbor on your left and then down to the end of the road and you are on the beach. Merkel Beach is part of a series of beaches that extend from Wychmere harbor to Allens Harbor. Walk out to the edge of the Wychmere jetty to watch the boats go by or try your hand at fishing for blue fish or stripper.
