À propos de cet hébergement
“A Gem” 4BR & 2BA—Private Sandy Beach & Bike Path Access
Consider our cottage your home away from home while you visit Harwich with a private sandy beach on Long Pond. With 4 cozy bedrooms featuring a king, a queen, a double, and 2 twins, guests will have a comfortable stay (free linens and towels). Enjoy the convenience of amenities like a washing machine, WiFi, AC, Heat (5 zones of minisplits, with 1 in each bedroom and the living room), and heating. The 2 bathrooms are equipped with a hair dryer and shower (1 is a shower / tub). We look forward to hosting you at our Beach Cottage. The kitchen also includes all the essentials if you prefer to cook or grill. Our private beach is out the front door and across the street. The Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path is in front of the house and stretches 25 miles (out the front door and across the street: Website — https://capecodbikeguide.com/railtrail.asp MAP — https://capecodbikeguide.com/pdf/CCRT.pdf). For families, cyclists, and outdoor enthusiasts, Pleasant Lake Ave in Harwich, MA, offers the perfect Cape Cod getaway.
Our Beach Cottage sits near what was once the Cape Cod Railroad—a vital rail line that brought visitors, goods, and summer memories to Harwich and other seaside towns starting in the mid-1800s. The trains carried travelers from Boston and beyond, offering a scenic and convenient route to the Cape’s sandy shores long before highways existed. Harwich Station was a bustling stop, connecting locals and visitors to beaches, cranberry bogs, and village life. Pizza Shark was once a train station, with another station closer to downtown Harwich.
Though the train no longer runs, its legacy lives on. Today, the old railway has been transformed into the Cape Cod Rail Trail (right out the front door of our Beach Cottage), a paved bike and walking path stretching over 25 miles through charming towns, salt marshes, pine forests, and freshwater ponds. It’s a peaceful and picturesque way to explore the Cape—right where the trains once rolled through.
Whether you’re pedaling to the beach, walking to an ice cream shop, or simply taking in the scenery, you’re traveling along a route rich in history and timeless Cape Cod charm. Step back in time with the comfort of modern living in our lovingly maintained and continually updated 1800s Cape Cod Beach Cottage. This historic home is filled with character—from original wood beams and sloped ceilings to wide plank floors and cozy nooks that speak to centuries of coastal New England charm.
Over the past 30 years, our cottage has been thoughtfully updated to preserve its unique heritage while adding the conveniences today’s guests appreciate. Recent updates include refreshed bedrooms, modernized kitchen essentials, updated bathrooms (think clean updates over the past 30 years, not sparkling marble), and new furniture and bedding—ensuring a comfortable stay without losing that classic Cape feel.
We are committed to making our Beach Cottage even better with each season and continue to invest in its charm, comfort, and functionality. Whether you’re drawn to the warmth of a historic home, the proximity to our private sandy beach, other large public beaches, or simply a peaceful place to gather with loved ones, we invite you to make lasting memories here.
