Not much planning then added friends at last minute- the place was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the facilities- pool & spa & location. Will
Return next year!
We throughly enjoyed our time at Camelot by the Sea. There were a few things in the condo that were damaged by previous visitors and had not been repaired but that had no affect on our vacation. The location was perfect just a few blocks from the Boardwalk and the amenities were top notch! We look forward to returning
The staff was amazing and super friendly. Check in was fast and easy. The room itself was nice, not the best, but nice. The view was amazing. My family had a great time. Camelot itself is definitely an older building and could use some updates.
The room was nice
The entry door was very difficult to use. Each time we tried to enter it usually took at least 5 attemps to make it unlock
It would be better if the refrigerator door open the opposite way. It was difficult to remove items. It would have been nice to have a small table on the balcony to put coffee cups on. Thank you for letting us e joy your property.
Great view. The towels are l100% cotton but don't absorb water well. Pool and everything else was great. Since we were checking out on Saturday morning, it would have been helpful to know from the desk when we checked in there was a marathon being run closing the exit route.
The room was clean and the pools well maintained. Great location! Easy walk to many shops, restaurants, and the beach is right there.
My only serious issue was with the digital entry lock and the lackluster response by the front desk. The code stopped working every day, leaving us locked out on the 17th floor. It took three days before they changed the battery. All the while, the front desk receptionist couldn't have cared less. Not one apology for the repeated inconveniences.
The room is very nice but it is located in an oceanside hotel with many loud visitors. It is not sound proof. Kids were running outside our room at midnight and our neighbor were still talking at 3am. The beds are also right beside the door. so it is very bright with the hallway light still on at night. Our sleep definitely got messed up. The beds are comfortable. Very nice balcony looking over the beach though. Probably will be better if you come during its off season.
The ocean view from this condo was immaculate, which is really all you could ask for. The condo was very clean and had good amenities. The pots and pans to cook with were minimal, but overall it was no bid deal. The lazy river and downstairs pool area were terrific. The main drawback was the smoking. There are placards posted everywhere around the resort that state no smoking, but nothing is done to enforce it. Every minute we spent on the balcony, we were subject to cigar and marijuana fumes. This made it near impossible for us to bring our toddlers on the balcony with us, which was a bummer.
This was a wonderful vacation. My home was perfectly clean, it was updated and had all we needed for the week except one really important thing for my son. We had trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi so I text and was told to reset router. I could not find it so I called the desk and they sent up a maintenance man. The reason I couldnât find it is because there was not one. So we had to go all week without Wi-Fi. My son was not happy about that at all. We were told by maintenance to just connect to another wifi. Well that was crap. Wouldnât connect. So I would suggest Camelot get a router for the home. The cable went out for a short period one evening but wasnât a huge deal. Overall, we were happy. We will stay again.
The Good: The condo was exactly as pictured. Very nice and roomy for a family of four with two kids 8 and 6. We were in room 1710, and had the most perfect view of the ocean. Itâs right on the beach and had a lazy river, which my boys LOVED. My husband enjoyed being able to go to Dunkin Donuts every morning for coffee. Front desk staff was always super courteous and helpful. Housekeeping brought towels quickly when requested. Itâs in a great location. Easy walk to the boardwalk.
The Bad: Iâll start with the elevators. There were only 4 of them for this huge complex and they moved very slow. The stairs didnât go down all the way to the lower level so I think that causes a lot of back up for people who are on lower floors, instead of the stairs they have to take elevators. There is a bar by the pool, which was great, but the bartender was kind of a jerk. In the room the water pressure was the total pits. There basically wasnât any, which I did read in previous reviews.
Not sure Iâd stay there again, but our stay was enjoyable while it lasted.
I really didn't care about anything except that the view from the balcony be as shown in the listing. It's even more beautiful!!! The check-in was a little slow because there was only one person working the desk and there were several parties waiting. Another associate stopped by to "see how it's going" but after seeing the crowded lobby refused to assist with checking in any of the guests. Beyond that, the personnel were very responsive to all of our needs. All of the employees we encountered were pleasant and polite. The unit was very clean. The furniture was comfy except we could feel the sofa bed frame when sitting on the couch. The rolling arm chair was super comfy. There was one remote to operate both TVs (the second remote was for a different brand and didn't operate anything in the room that we could find). Not a big deal cause THE OCEAN VIEW!!! All of the pool areas were clean and tidy. We expected one lazy river pool; there are two but one was closed for most of our stay. The beach was clean, not too crowded. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils, plates, bowls, silverware, glassware. Mixing bowls, pots but no pans?? We made pancakes in the smallest pot, they turned out quite delicious, but a pan would've been nice. I would stay in this same unit again because did I mention the ocean view??!!
The property was as shown. It was great.
The problem was the front office staff. We got there very early. I tried to check in but of course the room wasn't ready. I did a "pre-check in". I was told we would be called. I was not asked to verify my phone number. At three o'clock we went back to the Camelot. Our room still was not ready. The girl at the office asked if we got a call? I told her no we thought we would just check. She said in no uncertain terms "I told you we will call when it is ready!" She was very abrupt. So we left again. At 5:30pm we still had heard nothing and decided to have an early dinner. We called the property at about 6:30pm. The woman that took the call did not ask my name. However, she knew who I was. She said we called at 4:15 and left a message. I answered that I never got a call and there was NO MESSAGE! She said yes there was. My friend grabbed the phone and said there was no phone call and NO MESSAGE! It was then that I learned they had the wrong phone number. The second woman was as rude as the first one was. I have NEVER been treated that way in my life when I had already paid for the room in full. I have worked in customer service for most of my life. If I EVER spoke to a customer in that manner I would have lost my job!
Once again, the room was perfect but the office staff left a whole lot to be desired.
My husband and I stayed in this location 5 nights. Overall am the stay was fine; however there were some negatives I feel need to be addressed for future peoples stays.
Iâll start with the pros:
- the staff was amazing. Very helpful, friendly, and always on top of things.
- the room itself looked exactly as the listing pictures. Just a few minor things broken, listed below.
- Starbucks and strong waters restaurant were a quick walk from location.
- the beach was so clean and a quick walk from property.
Now for the cons:
- our room both bathroom cabinets were broken, not even on the hinges so we were out that storage space.
- all rooms say no smoking, however the resort does nothing to implement it. Anytime we were on our balcony trying to relax - people were on theirs smoking. The elevators also always reeked of pot.
- the traffic from the strip was extremely loud- being there during bike week I assume amplified this but the motorcycles woke us at all hours of the night.
- the location details said Dunkinâ Donuts was attached; but when we checked in we found it had permanently closed. This should be removed from advertising.
- the outdoor bar was only open one day of our stay, would have enjoyed more options of drinks while at the pool/hot tub.
We enjoyed the condo and location. It should be noted in listing you check in at lobby and receive keys from them not codes from property managers. Also if you bring your own beach towels there is no need to take the pool key cards upon check in.
It wasnât too busy the times we stayed on beach and was easy to walk to where boardwalk started.
Pool area was nice, we were disappointed that the pool bar was only open 2hrs one of our 3 days there. We did however enjoy lunch twice at the Bummz Beach Cafe restaurant right next door, walked from the pool straight over to have lunch.
I would recommend staying here. Parking is included and resort fees.
Nice hospitality, GREAT CLEANING!! I loved everything about my stay especially the viewing. You guys have a great TEAMWORK, and to whom ever cleaned 1710 I APPRECIATE YOU GREAT JOB WELL DONE it was PERFECT.
We had a great time here! The room was extremely clean and modern. The property itself was also well maintained. Our view was nothing but ocean. The staff was very nice. We did have issues with finding parking for our truck, which didnât fit in the garage, but the staff was quick and responsive in helping us. We played the Lost Mine mini golf course twice ($60 savings included in stay) and we went to Myrtle Waves ($110 savings included in stay). Beach Bummz (next door) is great for lunch, dinner, and drinks. Luluâs cafe (right across the street) was great for breakfast.
We really liked the location and the 17th floor view of the ocean and beach. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of amenities. All that said, the owners should fix the flooring!
This room was clean, modern, and functional - especially compared to some of the others we saw. I would recommend putting towel racks in the bathroom. The facilities could use some updating particularly the poolside bar and the water in the lazy river looked really cloudy but the location was ideal.
