Leave your stress at the door and make yourself at home at "The Gantt Rant Resort." This oceanfront cottage style home comes with all the amenities to make life easy for you during your stay. This open concept home has a fully stocked kitchen with new stainless steel appliances. Sleep comfortably on premium mattresses with organic 100% cotton bedding. We provide linen service with top quality sheets and towels. Beach towels are also included and ready for you to use. The house has an upstairs with 4 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. There are 2 bedrooms each with King beds, 1 bedroom with 1 Queen bed, and 1 bedroom with 2 Queen beds upstairs. The downstairs has a separate entrance and contains laundry room with washer and dryer, bunk beds in the laundry room and separate room with Queen bed, full bath, and television. The downstairs is perfect for a separate family to have privacy or for older guests that cannot traverse the stairs. There is wifi and cable along with smart TVs with Hulu, Netflix, Prime, etc. upstairs and downstairs. There is a propane grill downstairs under the carport. There are also boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, and a beach stroller under the carport for you to enjoy. There are board games and a small library to keep you entertained during your stay. The house is oceanfront with a very short sand path leading to the beach. There is a relaxing outdoor shower conveniently located where you exit the beach. You can spend your days enjoying the beach without having to "set up camp" because you can go in and out of the house at will! The absolute best part of this amazing house is the huge deck overlooking the ocean! The deck contains a porch swing, rockers, picnic table for outdoor dining, and outdoor sectional style couch. Enjoy sunrises, sunsets, moons rising, and twinkling stars while gazing at the ocean waves from this incredible vantage point! The Gantt Rant Resort was designed with family comfort, cleanliness, and convenience in mind.

The house had many issues (mold, mice, condensation from the AC) which the owner addressed as best she could given the circumstances. So thankful for that. But the house was not in a condition to be rented.

We loved staying here! Amber was a wonderful host! The house was clean , bright and very welcoming! We loved the amazing ocean views while sitting on the incredible deck! The dolphins entertained us each day while we sat on the beach We made many wonderful memories here!

We loved our family (12 of us) vacation at Ocean Isle Beach! The weather was perfect, the beach was great, and the outside deck at our house was wonderfull! Unfortunately, when we arrived, the air conditioner in the downstairs bedroom was broken. Amber, our host, had a portable unit delivered. She was very responsive.The broken air conditioner had led to a damp,mildewy environment downstairs. The bathroom was moldy/mildewy, and Amber sent cleaners later in the week to address that. The ceiling tiles were also moldy and falling down. This is the reason for our poor rating for cleanliness. Our teenage grandchildren were unhappy with the room and tried to spend time upstairs. Upstairs was clean, the kitchen was well-stocked, and we loved that there were so many amenities- beach chairs in good condition, boogie boards, puzzles, games, and books.

Great Beach House

We really enjoyed our first all family vacation at this property!!!! It was so great having the beach access right out our back door. The home was well maintained and the owner was so easy to work with. We would definitely stay here again if we get back to Ocen Isle.

Family vacation

Amber was great to deal with, very responsive. Property is just steps to the beach! Felt very safe and not crowded by neighboring homes so great location. Plenty of shops on the island and eateries as well. Only suggestion is to update beach chairs and surf boards/toys.

Awesome deck

We spent most of our time on that amazing deck overlooking the beach and enjoying the breeze. It made the stay special. The kitchen and indoor spaces did not offer the same kind of quality or roominess, but overall, the deck made the week a great one.

Great Place!

Everything was wonderful from booking to checkout. Location and beach access was perfect. Not close to public beach access so not crowded. House was small (which we knew)but accommodating for 13 of us. Oceanfront deck was one of the best I saw on the island. Very large, open, and good mix of sun and shade. Plenty of comfortable seating. Host was great. Highly recommend!

This is our second year renting this property and can’t wait to go back. Amber is a Premier Host and it shows in all the little touches she provides. From beach chai’s and umbrellas to fooling utensils to games for a rainy day, Amber ensures this house has it all. Amazing weekend

My family and I booked a last minute long weekend getaway for my birthday. We lucked up when we found this place. Being right on the beach was amazing, the views were incredible! The best part was not having to bring all the stuff! Having the beach towels, chairs and boogie boards already there when you are traveling with 3 kids is amazing! Amber was very responsive and always answered any of my questions quickly. We can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful Vacation Home!

This home was a beautiful vacation rental! We slept 9 of us comfortably. The house was clean, bright and stocked with all of the essentials! We couldnt have asked for more beautiful ocean views morning to night! Whether sitting in the house, on the deck or in the sand...this place delivers! We loved the easy access to an outdoor shower so tons of sand wouldnt follow us up. We were close enough to groceries and other fun shopping. Restaurants in plenty short drive away. I cant say enough good things about this place!

family getaway

Location is quiet towards the end of the island but perfect for our small family. View of the ocean from our back patio was definitely the best part and makes it worth staying. Had 3 families staying upstairs which was perfect. You can definitely fit more but I think any more will be overcrowded. Down stairs had another room and laundry and bathroom but the kids all thought it was creepy and probably wouldn't recommend staying down there. Also our host was great and prompt with all our questions.

Great location!

This property is exactly what I want in a beach rental. The hugh deck is amazing. It has comfy seating in and out of the sun. Great beach that doesn’t get as crowded as other areas. The hostess Amber was always available for any questions that came up. Super nice to work with. The teenagers enjoyed the downstairs lodging. Although we brought umbrellas and chairs, the downstairs was stocked with all that and lots of beach toys. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing large meals. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Gantt Rant review

Great location-easy access to beach. Nice outdoor space. House is reportedly totally renovated. However, bathrooms need updating. We had to use the downstairs bedroom which is dark and dingy. It is also awkward to use the laundry with folks staying in that space. I would not use as a fifth bedroom again.

The house has new floors, new drywall, new deck, new kitchen, new windows, new bathroom vanities in every bathroom, new siding, new outdoor shower, new air unit, new roof, and new paint to be specific on being totally renovated. The photos show an accurate depiction of exactly how the house looks in every room. While the downstairs does not have as much natural light as the upstairs due to it being a downstairs space, it is a full bedroom with full bathroom and is attached to a laundry room which contains bunk beds. The laundry room is separated from the Queen bed bedroom and bathroom by a wall. Again, the photos are an accurate portrayal of the layout of the house.

Can't beat the view!

Great family stay here last week! The large deck with all sorts of comfortable seating and the proximity to the ocean (very short walk and excellent ocean view) make this house great. It slept 9 of us comfortably, and though the living area is small, with the deck to spill out into--and the beach steps away--it felt large enough for us. Amber was a very kind and responsive host and quickly addressed issues (e.g., grill that didn't work and tripped breaker in the kitchen). It was also nice that the upstairs was recently partially remodeled. The downstairs is still a little rough, but no more than other beach houses we've rented in the past. Overall, we had a great stay and would love to stay here again if we venture back to OIB.

Great Family Vacation!

This was our first family vacation since our children are all grown with children of their own. There were 11 of us and we were quite comfortable. If just walking down your stairs and feeling the sand beneath your feet, or sitting on a spacious deck looking out into the ocean is your idea of a great location, this house is for you! We had a minor issue that the host took care of right away. Even before we arrived, I sent several messages to Amber and she responded very quickly. This was my first experience with VRBO and it was wonderful. The whole process was very easy. We would love to go back to this house next year.

Wonderful Week at the Beach

What a comfortable house in a great location. The beach is literally 65 steps from the house. Such an easy walk back to the house to grab snacks. No need to haul it all in the morning. Also, the large deck with comfortable furniture was delightful. The house is really well equipped with everything you need. At other rentals, we have had to purchase Baggies, plastic wrap, foil, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, etc upon arrival. This house has it all! The Pack and Play crib was in great shape. There are puzzles and games. The closet with beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, sand toys was clean and brimming with supplies. There was even a Shibumi which we had to rent on our vacation last year. The only complaint I would mention is the temperature differential between the bedroom facing the ocean and the bedrooms facing the street. Overall, we give this house a 5 star rating.

Let me start by saying Amber was a great host and allowed us to check in early and was very responsive. What you are paying for with this rental is the location and outdoor space. The porch, outdoor shower, beach accessories/toys, and direct beach access are all great amenities and make the property great. However, the property was very dirty and it tainted the entire stay. When we first got there the smell was so bad we had to air the place out. It seemed as though someone had smoked (even though its a non smoking property) and was trying to cover it up with a ton of cheap air fresheners that just made it worse. The area rugs in each bedroom were so dirty we just rolled them up and put them in the closets because it was gross to look at them. We had to vacuum the main couch upon arrival because it was covered in pet hair (even though no pets are allowed). Most of the sheets and towels had stains and should be replaced. There were multiple areas with a build up of dead gnats that hadn’t been cleaned. Overall was just a huge bummer with a house that had a lot of potential.

I’m shocked by your review because none of this was ever reported during your stay. Had I known of any of the cleaning issues listed, I would have promptly sent our cleaning crew back over to fix any concerns. I spoke with our cleaning crew and she stated that the majority of the washcloths and towels put out were the ones I just bought prior to summer with the washcloths being brand new and never used before. I understand the gnats can be bad at times which is just a hazard of an ocean front property. That said, I have alerted the cleaning crew to double check the ledges near windows and doors where they can get in easier. I’ve never had any renter complain of a smoking smell and to my knowledge no renters have ever smoked in the property. It is a pet free property as well. The cleaning crew stated they had not seen any evidence of a dog after the previous renters left. As for the rugs, they are in place to wipe the sand off of your feet before getting into bed. We have taken them out of rotation for the time being and I am in the process of purchasing new ones, however, they are very small rugs. The house flooring is a combination of laminate vinyl plank and hardwoods which are swept and mopped before each new set of renters comes in. I would encourage anyone reading this review to please look at all of the previous reviews before making judgments of this property. I have many references that I’m happy to share from repeat renters who use this property year after year. I take feedback very seriously, and while I am addressing all of these concerns with the cleaning crew, I would encourage you, in the future, to communicate any issues to your host as soon as they arise so that they may be addressed and taken care of.

Great oceanfront house

Our large family enjoyed our vacation at this home. The location was perfect. The beach was not too busy and the home is steps from the sand. The oceanfront deck was great with plenty of seating and there was a constant breeze in the heat - we spent a lot of time out there! The kitchen was small but well stocked with supplies (with the exception of a pizza cutter). There was an ice maker on the counter that we used all week and loved! There was shampoo/conditioner, detergent, trash bags, etc. The outdoor shed was full of beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, and a Shibumi! The beds and pillows were some of the most comfortable we have had in a vacation home. The AC kept up with the heat, and the house was always cool. The four bedrooms on the main floor shared two bathrooms - the master bedroom was Jack and Jill style with another bedroom. The downstairs rooms were separate from the main floor, with a separate entrance. The refrigerator in the downstairs did not seem to cool well. We accidentally brought a TV remote home and the host was very understanding, and communicated quickly with us. Overall, we had a great vacation! The house suited our needs and we all agree we would stay here again!

Wonderful property with terrific owner/manager

This was our first time staying at this property, and it was a wonderful experience. First, we can’t sing Amber’s assistance enough@. Of all the properties we’ve booked on VRBO (and other sites) she stands out as the best owner/manager we have ever worked with. Thoughtful, conscientious, friendly, and quick responses truly convey how nice it is to work with her. And these qualities show in the property. It’s terrific location oceanfront can’t be beat. Plus she provides all of the nice touches that many others either forget or don’t bother with, including outstanding internet that performed perfectly whether it our one don doing his live weekly podcast to his wife streaming a meeting. These are plenty of beach chairs and an umbrella all in good condition ready to be used. Our 18 month old grandson (making his first trip to the beach ever!) made good use of all the beach toys! The deck is spacious with enough searing for all seven of us to get together and catch up on the days activities. Inside, The house was immaculate with three bedrooms and a hideaway apartment downstairs that was perfect for our son, his wife, and their 18 month old son. Everyone slept well on the more than comfortable beds, and the family room was plenty large enough for family game night or to watch the latest “Bad Batch” episode on Disney+. Indeed, my only hesitation in writing this well earned glowing review is that you, dear readers, will seek to find this gem, making it more difficult for us to plan our return trip!

Amazing location, house needs work

We had a very nice stay at Ocean Isle. We loved being on the beach, and the deck was wonderful. We also appreciated the amenities included in the house, such as full bottles of dish soap, laundry detergent, towels, and the like. The kitchen also had a great coffee maker and coffee grinder, as well as everything you need to cook, which we appreciated. Amber, the manager, was also very responsive and friendly. Overall it was a lovely stay. Unfortunately the house itself is quite old and needs a lot of work, and some of the descriptions of the set up were unclear. The bathrooms are very old and were quite mildewy when we arrived. There were cleaning supplies available, though, so we scrubbed toilets and even kitchen cabinets (also mildewy) ourselves. The downstairs has a separate entrance with a bedroom and bunk beds in the laundry room; before going our kids were excited to stay in the bunk beds, but we realized it wasn't safe to leave them there without an adult, since it is under another lock. And the room was extremely musty. It seems there has been a lot of water damage to the property due to a bad roof (which leaked on us while we were sleeping in bed on the second to last night we were there). I have no doubt the owner is working hard to fix these issues (plus others we encountered during our stay)-- she called a roofer the same day we told her about the leak, for example. But it is a bit disconcerting when pest control shows up to tell you they are spraying for black widows in the outdoor shower you've been using all week, and it was inconvenient to have so many repairmen in the home (a plumber who fixed a broken shower, as well as the aforementioned roofer and pest control). It would be one thing if the price were a bit lower, but given the rather exorbitant cost in relation to other properties in the area, some visitors may have expected a bit more than the house has to offer.

I’m glad you all enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the feedback. I’m sorry you felt misled by the description of the layout, as it clearly states in the summary that the downstairs has a separate entrance which is great if a separate family were staying and wanted privacy. The photos clearly show the separate entrance as well. The house has never sustained any water damage whatsoever, even in the storm last August that had a 7 ft. surge. It was also thoroughly inspected when we bought it last August and confirmed that it has never sustained water damage. The downstairs has a mini split with a built in dehumidifier. If it is left on the entire stay, which is requested in the information book, then the downstairs is very fresh and not mildewy at all. I’ve never had a guest complain of this. The roof is old and I’m very sorry it dripped on you. The roof will be replaced on August 30th and has been sealed to be watertight until then. The bathrooms are older, but they are very clearly portrayed in the detailed photos of the house. All of the appliances, beds, mattresses, bed linens, and bathroom linens are brand new and only purchased at the beginning of this prime season. Our price, according to VRBO is competitive with other ocean front homes of the same size and capacity. Also, I do apologize that during your 2 week long stay, a plumber, roofer, and regularly monthly scheduled pest control came. Normally those things would take place on Saturday turnover day, but since you all were there for 2 weeks, I wanted to make sure all of your concerns were taken care of promptly to make your stay nice.
